Exactly. It's pure silliness.

God damn this is the most anal retentive lot of people I've ever witnessed!:distress: Me, Me, Me. It's all about ME.

And on what information is Spoiler applied too?

I don't have a problem putting "Spoiler" in a thread I start, that's not a big deal. I just would like more clarification on what exactly is a spoiler? Is is just applied to a few details.. All new details on the band. And at what point is it not a spoiler during an on-going tour.:)

Historically, it lasts until at least the first few nights of the tour. Things that can be spoilers are names of songs, outfits (usually La Nicks' ), and basically anything that happens in the concert. Others, feel free to add as I am by no means the final authority on the definition of spoiler

Again, I am not telling anyone what they should or should not do. I am just explaining a custom that has been around here for a long time. Its up to you, not me, to figure out if it is worth your time to put up a spoiler notice and if it is worth sending someone away from the board for a few weeks not to do so :)

Personally, I like the new info. and look forward to hearing more - so keep it a comin' !!! :)

That is generally how it's worked out in the past...the first several date threads are marked with SPOILER...

And come on...it's just common courtesy...is it really so horrible to just type spoiler?? It's been going on for a long time now...and it would just be cool if some of the newer folks could show the respect that has been shown in the past...

It is very possible to be active on these boards and not know all of the set lists etc...I've done it for two tours now...

And it's cool that some people come here soley for information...but that's not what *everyone* comes here for...

Me...I enjoy just chillin' and talking about my favorite band with folks...it's not all about the updates and news...

So yeah...I'm rambling....but I'm standin' with Strand and other to ask that you just please try and be a little more considerate of those who don't want to know certain things...

Just don't put them in subject lines...and/or distinguish that it is a spoiler thread by typing the word spoiler :D

*****SPOILER!!!!!******
*****SPOILER!!!!!******
*****SPOILER!!!!!******
*****SPOILER!!!!!******

PLEASE DON'T READ THIS POST... if you don't want to know anything about Stevie and Lindsey, Mick, John, or Chris, or anyone who's ever been in the band, anything they've ever worn on stage, played in concert, or said in overseas interviews, etc., etc., blah, blah, blah.

Sheeeeesh!

And I thank YOU Jason! I'm one who does not want to be spoiled. Well, I like to be spoiled in other ways. Heh. But knowing the set list ahead of time is NOT one of them. I still want to kill whoever put "OMG Beautiful Child!!!!!" as their subject last year. Seriously. Kill.

;)

Edit: And thank you Christy, for mentioning the spoiler in your post and making people scroll down. I didn't, but it wasn't easy!

:wavey:

If that was the biggest catastrophy in your life last year, I think you did alright. I can understand you would like to be surprised when you get to the show, but as others have said, no one meant any harm or ill will to you or others who feel as you do. You're anger and comments have been a bit over the top. The world didn't stop spinning because you found out they were going to do Beautiful Child, and I'm sure it won't now. Take a deep breath, count your blessings and try to put things in perspective.

Thanks Vianna for posting a pinned thread espousing the SPOILER deal. :)

But, with all due respect, the point is you don't have to avoid the board if everyone could just show a little courtesy to those who want to avoid that kind of information. I was just posting this to let those who do not know about that custom (not posting new set list information in the subject bar and instead posting "SPOILER" ) in on it because I was grateful someone let me in on it before I inadvertantly spoiled something for someone  Again, my word is by no means the law nor should it be. I was just posting this FYI in a non-offensive way.

I hear what you are saying, but, the thing is, if you listen to the interviews, if you want to hear what the band has to say, you have no way to know that Mick or any other member is going to "spoil" something. I think that it would be sad to not listen to an interview to go in totally not in the know. JMO...

I totally agree with you. But, as strange as it may seem, there are people who do not listen to the interviews prior to a concert so they are not not surprised. I could NEVER do that  - but apparently some can - so, there is a chance that not posting "SPOILER" in the subject line could reuin it for them
