WOOHOO!!! I've been waiting for news like this on this thread for ages!

SpyNote 03-02-2016 09:26 AM

Anything we get at this point is just gravy.

That's kind of the way I see it, too. And the fact that she's so gung-ho after a long tour... I'm so pleased...

"And people seem to love us"

...Ya think??

Thanks for the post Fuzzy Plum. I checked both Christine's Facebook page and the FM website last night and there was nothing. I guess this is as recent as recent news gets! I am excited to read that she has at least a month in mind (April) when the band will begin working on the new matieral. And I'm glad she has a personal investment in it. This kind of information is what I was looking for. It's still somewhat iffy but at least now we know something....

see, it worked all your complaining - Chris answered your call for some news about the album! ;)

and look at all the naysayers up here on the last 2 pages of this thread. :p

elle 03-02-2016 08:29 PM

of course FM booking and going to studio in april gives me a strong feeling of deja vu.

2014 anyone?

next we'll read that 4 members of FM are in the studio working on some great new songs while the only one they still need to add some contributions hightails to nashville. :p

Nick 03-02-2016 08:39 PM

"Fans will have to be patient – getting each band member in the same room is not as easy as it once was. “I’m waiting to hear when we’re going to finish it, which I suspect will be April. Everybody has different things going on. But my feet are firmly planted in this record at the moment, because quite a lot of the songs are mine!"

I'm sure it will happen, maybe not by April but they will finish this album. I just need 3 or 4 new Stevie tracks and at this point a late 2016/early 2017 release for the album works for me.

I betcha Stevie has more than enough great songs up her sleeve, some new and old demos, she most probably is going through the process now writing or deciding which would be more suitable for F/M .. Im SURE the whole band would want to be fully involved, bouncing off each others creative ideas, just like the old days.. This perhaps being their final album its gonna be well worth the wait  i expect some really healthy competition between all 3 song writers.. Exciting times ahead :D

mitzo 03-03-2016 06:50 AM

Not sure what this means.... this means that right now she is in Nashville with Dave? And he is producing tracks for her for the FM album?

Oh god, I think I would rather she didn't contribute then. I love Stevie and her songs the most but Dave Stewart's production and composition style is utterly tacky. He should have stopped producing back in the 80's. Even then his songs were bad. I just cannot stand the thought of Dave producing her songs, he makes them so unlikable and synth-pop-py.

JUST NO, NO, NO!!!!

Wdm6789 03-03-2016 10:29 AM

Ok so Christine did mention the possibility of another tour. So there's a small chance we might get Hold Me. Sara too. Also, the potential for deluxe Mirage and Tango releases.

At least Aussies got Think About Me and Sara... I'm a little jealous of that.

Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh. Just when things were looking up.
This is bad news for Fleetwood Mac fans.
If she's been working with Dave on tracks then that can surely only mean a SN Songs From The Vault. Surely he wouldn't be producing songs for a FM release???? I mean he could, but surely he's need music made by Chris, Lindsey, John and Mick in the first place. I'm pretty certain Stevie hasn't done anything creatve with FM so there wouldn't be any Mac material available for Dave to work on.

I'd guess she's working with Dave on material for a SN album for release later this year.
She may still join FM in May/April to work on FM material for a release at the end of the year/early 2017.

Yeah and Christine didn't mention anything about this if in fact it is FM related. I'm inclined to believe it is not.

Another Stevie 24K album is warmly welcome to me. She may be producing demos for FM's album at the same time. Any FM project will take little of her time and energy anyway.

I agree 100 percent. Its time to do some spring cleaning in her vaults and get them out.

For me as well, as long as she still leaves a few strong tracks for the FM album.

She has a huge desire to sell another 20 thousand copies of her old music that never made the light of day...

MikeInNV 03-03-2016 09:48 PM

I don't know. The question specifically refers to a Fleetwood Mac album, and he answers that Stevie and Dave are working on "her tracks" rather than saying "a solo project" or something like that. That makes me think he meant "her tracks for the FM album." Maybe she's just developing her demos a bit more with Dave so that Lindsey will understand the vision she has for the songs.

Obviously I could be way off, but given the way the question and answer each read, I didn't necessarily think 24KG Volume 2.

I tend to agree.. can't really read into it... I lean toward FM album.. Based on knowing she's not been comfortable working with Lindsey and know they don't have much agreement and chemistry when writing... I wish Christine would work with Stevie more. Those two could make incredible music. They just need to break thru the wall.

Maybe she is using Dave to go over the new FM cuts.Nothing wrong with that.

louielouie2000 03-03-2016 10:56 PM

Y'all, Stevie has fleshed out demos to bring to FM since the Tusk era. Possibly before that. Songs like Smile At You and so many others have been confirmed as being born outside of FM with session musicians. I think Stevie does this to make herself feel like an equal. Chris & Lindsey flesh out their own songs because they play instruments; Stevie doesn't, so she needs help bringing her concepts to fruition. This is absolutely nothing new.

nicole21290 03-04-2016 02:25 AM

There has been an update on the article citing stevie will do a few solo projects beforehand

Good. She probably tour too.She better get those tour dates booked before all weekend dates are gone.I'm not fond on weekday shows.
More likely it probably will be a casino tour which is fine with me.

She could throw FM a bone while she's working on her stuff. With Dave .Her stuff will get recorded quickly like the last time.Between her tour she could do the FM stuff with FM.I know when she hits the road. The fans will bust her balls on when she going to record with FM.She must be getting tired by now hearing the fussing.

I doubt she cares what fans think. She's going to do what she wants to do.. That's what an artist does..
