What was that, the exorcism of Sybil? Scary, real scary!

CarneVaca, you owe Jacob an apology. He didn't deserve to be talked to like that. That was harrassment if I've ever seen it. Sure he made mistakes in the game, but they were honest ones. He was never cheating, unlike some of the bullying tactics you used, wanting to move along with rounds that were done wrong, in your favor. His intentions were good and really wanted to have fun with the game. I know there were a few times I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my face. In my eyes the one who's lost the most credibility in this game is YOU!

Jacob, I'm truly sorry you had to experience that last night, it was totally uncalled for. :wavey:

My word, I go to Cape Cod and this place goes to hell in a handbasket.

A few thoughts:

1. Beautiful Child and Over and Over are gone. They went the way of the dinosaurs, folks. If you want to listen to them, go ahead, but they were voted out. I think it's a tad tiresome to invalidate a vote that's based on a previously invalidated vote, which now makes the current vote a run-off vote because of an invalidated vote. :p

2. Two different people should be in charge of tallying the votes to be sure that there are no miscounted votes. It's happened way too many times in this game and throws everything off.

3. The current run-off is a waste of time, IMO.

4. It's no suprise that Stevie fans want a Stevie song to win this, just as it's no surprise that Lindsey fans want a Lindsey song to win this. There's no use in arguing over it because it's just common knowledge, but I guess it just gives us more stuff to bloviate over.

5. I have no problem with Nancy being in charge.

6. If, in fact, this game is done, I would like to nominate Save Me A Place as the winner by default. ;)

:wavey:

I'm torn on that. This one is so tarnished that resuming it is inevitably going to piss off some folks. On the other hand, starting a new one wastes all the effort that was put into the other one.

He owes you an apology...but don't count on that happening. He's not a big enough man.

You're lucky that I have two strikes, or I would tell you exactly what I think of your "not big enough man" comment. I could squash like a bug verbally. If it was harassment, rest assured the folks who run this board will penalize me for it. And you won't have to deal with me anymore because I'll be gone. That should make some of you happy.

I owe no one an apology. The person whom I attacked unfairly already has received my apology. And that wasn't Jacob. He owes me an apology, if anything.

Considering your political leanings, I view that as a compliment. Thank you.

The whole "all previous rounds" vs, "previous round" thing is news to me. I'm not saying it's wrong, it's just news to me. I don't watch Survivor on TV so I don't know how it's played. When this came up earlier in this game and I posted "It was my impression that the tie-breaker is whoever got the most voted in the previous round", no one corrected me, so it's not hard for me to understand why people thought this was the rule. I sure did.

I actually thought immunity worked fine, it was only when the previous count was questioned that it got confusing. I got immunity twice and it was fine both times, so maybe I should just pick immunity for every round.

Just kidding. :D

As far as "manuvering" there are plenty of examples to go around. I don't think anyone should be pointing fingers at any one else in this regard.

Frankly I think we should start over. Get the rules straight; a lot was learned from this failed experiment. I really think using the "poll" function would work the best since we wouldn't be subject to human error. Tusk has too many songs, I know, so maybe we could do Lindsey's songs first then Chris', then Stevie's and come up with their 3 best songs or something and then use them in a final poll.

If we continue doing it this way, there should be something in the subject line. Maybe something as simple as NV or even just an X.

Just another Ledgie's opinion... :wavey:

This has nothing to do with other. Just me so dont bring them into this!

Serrart 08-29-2004 11:09 AM

Jacob, thanks a lot for the game and all the time and work you put in it. Please go on with all the Survivor challenges you want, I find them funny and will keep playing them.

A couple of other things:
I think Nancy would do a terrific job with a Tusk Survivor.

Carne, I'm impressed by your talent as drama queen. You reminded me a bit Liz Taylor in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. ;)

Completely understandable. But in defense of why you weren't questioned on that, in that particular case, was that the tie breaker happened in round 2, meaning there was only one round to go back to.

And I agree that a complete set of rules needs to be posted before the next game begins, probably modeled after the real Survivor. :wavey:

77Rumours77 08-29-2004 11:15 AM

here were some that I put on page 20..

1. Voting will close at 10 PM east (9cnt) Any votes after that will not be accepted.
2. You will be able to change your vote ONLY IF YOU STATE IN YOUR POST THE SONG YOU PREVIOUSLY VOTED FOR
3. Immunity will no longer be a part of Tusk SS
4. Unless stated other wise Tribal Counsel will happen at 10 PM (give or take 10 min)
5. If you are going to start a conversation PLEASE PUT IN YOU "TITLE" SECTION "No VOTE HERE" Or something to that matter.
6. Please and I cannot stress this enough. Be kind to others. Don't hold a vote against someone. (remember this is a game) O cussing is allowed because adding some colorful language can always be fun
7. Vote for the song YOU want to be voted off, not what the masses are doing
8. If and when tribal counsel comes back YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOU IMMUNITY VOTE
9. If you are going out of town and cannot vote, Please contact me and I can work something out with you so you are still a part of the game (I.E. Hawkeye)
10. I said it before, THIAS IS JUST A GAME. Please it is here for you to have a good time.

Not really sure what you're saying here. Something about pissing on fires, or whatever. I would suggest you not get too close to the flames if you are exposing yourself like that. ;)

As for shutting the **** up, don't count on it.

sodascouts 08-29-2004 11:22 AM

OK, I've been contacted by rezamatic and we're going to follow dissention's advice and do a two-person counting system. I have decided to go ahead and start the whole thing over. We'll start a new thread for it this afternoon or evening. Consider this one "practice." And view the new one as a challenge, since there will be more tendencies towards coalitions on both sides. Make you work harder. ;)

That being said, it is very possible the results will turn out differently. Suck it up. We're going to pretend this game never existed. I don't expect to hear whining about it in the new thread. Clean slate, people.

One last thing - the new rules are going to be more precise and a tad different than Jacob's. Therefore, they must be read carefully and adhered to as they are stated. I do not want to hear "That's not the way we've done it before" or "That's not the way I want it done." Now we're doing it Nancy's way, lol.

P.S. Jacob, I'm sorry this turned out so badly! But take comfort in the fact that the others are going so well. :)

It will be a changes note hosting but voting, But it will be long needed. I am doing smaller ones in other threads so I am not totally out of the game :blob2:

Wow! I missed a lot. The game is completely shot and we have to start over? That's a shame, I was hoping that we could continue and and just put the differences behind us.

This fight between CarneVaca and Rumours77 probably went a little too far, but I can see both points of view on this, and it is true that some serious mistakes were made. I wish we could move forward without having to redo any rounds or start the game over.

CarneVaca 08-29-2004 01:01 PM

Nancy, I'm glad you're taking over. You're up to the task. I have no doubt of that. I have one concern about using the polling system you were suggesting. Can we keep the results hidden until the last vote is cast? I think that would be a lot of fun.

Otherwise, if the results are shown throughout the day, it creates a problem. The problem is that those folks who have been voting strategically wouldn't be able to change their votes if you are using the polls.

But if you're voting in the dark and the results are made public in the end, that is very exciting indeed.

Good point. My advice would be to ignore the nonsense. There's plenty of it to go around anyway.

I do wish we could just continue with this game, since there are so many songs in Tusk. We may not know the results until October!

I'm not really sure if I have the energy to keep playing, even if it has beena lot of fun.

I'm with you on this one. Sodacsouts, is there any way at all, any way at all, that we can just continue the game where left it off? I totally understand wanting to set new solid rules and starting over, but I think that a lot of people are not going to have the patience to keep playing, especially starting over and voting for the same songs again.

Just a thought.

Sodascouts and I are planning on trying to get a new game going later today. I think we planned on trying to start over, but now that you guys are talking about starting from where we left off, I agree that that's a good idea. I think we should start off at the round after Brown Eyes was voted off, and erase all previous votes just due to the hassle that it's impossible to count them by now. I'll probably post the rules for our new game (not much different, just more organized) and you guys can take a gander.

I'll talk it over with her and hopefully get the new rules up for you guys to look at. If you don't want to play it, then that's fine. But look for it in a few hours or so.

Oh please Carne... Anyone with two computers can easily do this. The funny thing is that you're now trying to cover your tracks in not very subtle ways. Giving two different votes in the Wild Heart survivor thread just now really is amusing. As if you'd care about a Stevie survivor game hosted by someone you just flamed to death.

And since I'm all into conspiracy theories and being a general pain, I must say that I had quite a lot of fun reading Dulcimer's posting history. Pretty incredible how he's systematically intervening in your favor to always add that extra voice and support when you're in the heat of things. Such dedication is truly remarkable! No one probably cares but check it out if you want a good laugh, it's hilarious. :D

I suppose Lindsey really needed two extra votes per round to boost his... what was it... oh yes "approval rating"

All in good fun of course :)

You have made mistake after mistake. You seem unable to even count, for crying out loud. You have no credibility left in this game. You should excuse yourself and hand it over to someone who has credibility, organization skill and impartiality, someone like Sodascouts.

This game is a farce, and its future outcome has already been tainted by what is either incompetence on your part or a basic lack of a sense of fairness and fortitude.

Outside of that, you're a good dude, and I'll be glad to interact with you on other threads. But you suck at running this thing.

I am late to this argument...But Carne...I'm suprised at you... it was just a recount because someone brought up some incorrect numbers..but who cares? I would be fine if either BC or TEFM left, if all was done fairly. I think you are being a whiny pouty baby, and taking your ball and going home. And i think you're giving short shrift to the "chiffon heads". There is no big plot. in fact, i've seen less plotting, criticism, and yelling by the chiffon heads. But whether that is true or not, I think everyone can agree that, although they may generally prefer one member's songs to another's, that not every member hits a home run every time, and that every member is possessed of genius. And by the way, I like TEFM more than SARA. If you really thought it was wrong, why didn't you just repost the places where it was wrong? I would be willing to go along with anything that was fair. But the big scene??! It's just so...beneath you... :(
I see that, apparently, nancy is taking over the game...whatever, fine.

But I thought going back to a previous round was what started all this mess in the first place? Now all the sudden it's OK? Or, if you're talking about continuing as is without going back at all, that's not happening. The whole point of this is to solve that controversy.

I'll abide by the majority decision, but I think the way to go is to start clean. The game has been tainted.

I don't think we're going to use the polling function. There are too many to fit on one poll, I believe. And I don't think there's a possiblity of hiding the votes otherwise. Sorry. :(
