View Full Version : Info about tour merch

I have done some checking and word has it from a reliable source that the merchandising has Jonathan Todd all over it. And, it is not likely to get much better. The tour books are possibly only promo pics, as well, with little content. This is information for you so that you can decide if you want to support the merchandise on the tour.

Most of the shirts are only promo pics with Fleetwood Mac on them, and are the same type of quality as the poster that was sent with the CD. And there are not size selections that will fit everyone, like the small person or the larger person. Also, why Rumours pics on shirts again? It is apparent that a new person is selling the merchandising this tour and one that does not know what the fan base wants, or expects.

Whatever you may think about him, I know for a fact that this is NOT Chris Nick's merch. Chris Nicks where are you and we need your merchandise.

And this is dispite numerous threads over on Mick's board about what the fans really want from merchandise.... with the top item being TOURBOOK!

What??? The "Rumours Retro" design AGAIN???!!!

Oh no doubt they will get the oppertunity to order it from the website for an extortionate price. Wonder what the shipping will be to the UK.... $80 like for the cd?

Actually, he MUST have a brain. Look at the money he's packing in from us fans because he KNOWS we're too impulsive. Hell, I paid $35 for a Say You Will t-shirt that was printed on a Hanes shirt. Why? I'll never know. And I was upset there was not a poster or tourbook...that's what I WANTED to buy. You can call this man a phony, a scrooge, a con-artist, etc., but I would stay away from attempting to insult his intelligence. You NEED a brain to deceive as many people as he has how many times over again?

I have heard that they are shrinking really badly...did you wash yours yet? And, can you guys comment on that? What about the quality? I have heard that it is disappointing.

Actually, that's why I wasn't going to buy a shirt. My tour shirts always shrink. TISL did badly...and I mean, I'm pretty skinny and bought a LARGE and after drying, the TISL shirt is pretty tight on me. Yet, I have an EXTRA LARGE Street Angel shirt on now (which I sleep in) because even after washing and drying, it's huge! My best advice, since I work in a clothing store that has shirts that shrink beyond recognition, is to wash it in cold water and DON'T dry it. Hang dry it, then put it in the dryer on medium or low heat in order to get the wrinkles out and to soften the fabric. But I just know these shirts WILL shrink, so be careful.

Id agree - in order to preserve shirts more, dont dry them in the dryer but hang-dry them. In sensitive cases, handwashing is good too.

Hanes shirts SUCK!

They DO know how to rip us off... charging a lot of $$ for what appears to be cheap merchandise... but then, the "one in question" has little to no morals so Im not surprised.

I posted a zillion frownie faces and LOL the Ledge said "not so fast... not so many frownies!"...

I was GOING to post - Can I FROWN any more? LOL!

Thanks for looking into it. I suspect you're right. People I talked to who already went to shows are guessing that somebody new is selling the merchandise. I wouldn't be surprised if most tour related souvieers show up for sale at the fan club site for a pretty penny. If he can't unload it on the tour I'm sure he thinks the ever willing fan club people will snatch it all up at any price. I'm not sure I'd call him smart...shrewd maybe...smart? Let's wait and see.

I agree with that totally. And, I understand that the merch is NOT moving well at the shows, which would be more reason to hoist it on the fan club maybe?

35 bucks for a shirt is outrageous!! I'll bet some creative Ledgies can make BETTER and COOLER shirts than the crappy ones they are offering...I mean, the Rumours re-hash needs to frickin DIE already...no more Rumours cover on ANYTHING people...COME ON!!! I would have voted for a tourbook and poster most of all, then a shirt and keychain with a cool photo of the band on it. Why not a tour packet, where you pay like 35 or 40 bucks, you get a shirt, poster and keychain? I bought a tee shirt on Ebay of the Rumours line-up and it cost me 25 bucks...I haven't worn it because I don't want anything to happen to it, and I would LOVE to have one from the Tusk tour. I am awaiting my fan club tee shirt...when are they shipping those again? I think it will have a penguin on it...

Anybody going to the Tues night show...can you let us know what they have and how well things sell? If you see tour books or posters get a good look first before buying. If the quality is anything like the posters given away with the cds you'd better put your wallet away.

I Bought TWO "bootlegger" shirts outside the venue AFTER the show that were way neater than the official merchandise for $10 each and they didn't shrink up hardly at all. Much better design. One has the pic of them all sitting on the floor (Stevie in pants and multicolor shirt, curly hair and Lindsey in the charcaol sweater). The front design takes up the ENTIRE front of the shirt. The back has a one of those B&W pics form the CD with all the tour dates and takes up the ENTIRE back of the shirt.

It just makes me sick that JT has his hooks into the tour merch too. How many more things can he ruin?

That depends, how many more things are the management and band willing to turn over to him? That will be the answer. Whatever he touches for them at this point, is gonna be suspect and scrutinized. He created and started a war with the fans, so stupid. He disrespected our concerns, feelings and used his power on that board to do so. But, he just underestimated how we would respond to it.

If Fleetwood Mac's management, including the indiv. players, do not come forward soon and clean all this up, the Mac is gonna lose a lot of money and respect and when the band members find out, maybe they will be seeking new management, because I know that management knows all of this. The band members, maybe some of them. But, they have been consumed by the tour and preparations. Management, on the other hand, needs to call a pow wow of all the respective decision makers and get this crap over with.

They need to remember about the class action against the Dixie Chicks. This ain't over just cause we are mad and we don't want a lot...just what we are due. And, they know what that is. I want JT fired. Flat out.

How many concerts a year do you all attend?

I'd say $35 per shirt is average. That's the same price I got my TiSL shirt, same price for a Sheryl Crow shirt, and oh...the same price for a Lenny Kravitz shirt, regardless of possible shrinkage.

Oh, and this Hanes thing isn't new. If you have a TISL shirt you might want to check it because mine is a Hanes shirt as well.

However, I hope some of this merchandising conflict dies down and we get some cool stuff down on the line. Or we can just whine since the whole point of this tour thing was to provide shirts and not concerts.

Then, I'm thinking you're not going to get official tour merchandise, and if that's fine with you...that's great...but what's the point?

Either way, the "Knight" is going to get paid...a couple people not buying tour shirts/merchandise isn't going to affect that, it will really just affect the non-buyer because you won't be getting anything from the actual show.

& if you buy an official, from-the-tour shirt, from e-bay, you're still supporting the exact same system; you're just compensating someone else for buying it.

There is a big difference between whining and standing up against someone who has lied, cheated and stolen from the members of this community. Those fans who continue to defend Jonathan Todd, stand against the rest of the community he lied to, stole from, abused and cheated.

The rules on this board are QUITE DIFFERENT than those on the one you came from. Jackie and Knight's rules don't control the fans who post here. If you're intent on stirring up things on the Ledge and preaching your peace and anti-negativity, save it.

To each his own. Nobody's telling others not to buy. Now that I understand that merch is possibly entangled with the fan club mess, I'll choose for myself not to buy. I'm not hurt one bit by missing out on tour items, and I don't care if the profiteers don't miss my individual purchase. Also, I thank the people who shed light on this subject. Anyone who wants to buy official tour items can disregard the information. If having trinkets from the tour is important to you then please buy all you desire. Just don't make light of the fact that others want to post about this topic and take a stand as a matter of principle.

The great thing about this board is that people can disagree without getting purged, deleted and banned. Thanks for your point of view.

They think that he's being straight with them, it's a shame that they're too blind to realize how he's been lying to and deceiving them. guys, for those of you who do want an official tour shirt... on the bags from the shows there is a website where you can order the same thing for like 10.00 less. (don't know where the money goes still, but at least it's less ;) )

also, you can SEE what they look like beforehand. I believe it is www.fanfire.com and search for FM.

WHERE ARE OUR TEE SHIRTS?!??!!?!?

Why, you can go and buy one at Fanfire...didn't you know that? your exclusive fan club tshirts are for sale for only 24.95...yet another lie...another lie another lie. And, if anyone read the small print bout how fanfire works, this supports the fact that JT is behind all the merch now.

What a piece of sh*t. I cannot believe that ANYONE is still supporting him. What is wrong with ppl? Can you not see the forest for the trees? Do you have more money than God and don't care? Do you not feel like a flippin fool for following him and dissing your fellow fans in the process? Is a FREE T SHIRT really worth it to those who were bribed to support and write glowing letters? Well, all I can say is that I hope that when it is all said and done that the ppl who have stood against fans with that man realize that they have lost their community friends in the process and I would bet the farm that the fan site, the mick site all of it will be gone within one year, but, guess what? We won't be gone.

And to those who feel like that got or have power now because they supported him, you got your pieces of silver. Hope that it always shines bright enough for you. Maybe you can frame it and put in next to your egyptian jewelry.

Whew! I'm getting a headache...:(

I'm going to the Philly show tonight and I just stopped by the board this AM to make sure I know all I need to know for tonight.

This is supposed to be a happy day for me !!!!!!!!!

Now I'm going to spend all day stewing over whether or not to buy a t-shirt.

Anyway, calming down now, I never expect much from tour t-shirts. My red TISL shirt is in mint condition. Why? Because I never wore it! I packed it away in my hope chest where I put all the clothes I want to save.

My white TISL album cover t-shirt, however, is a mess. It turned yellowish and was worn out by the end of the summer. Why? Because I USED it. (and I always washed it in cold water and hung to dry)

Isn't that the point of buying a shirt? To wear it and wear it out. To enjoy when some stranger walking by says, "hey, FM" or "hey, Stevie Nicks! Love her."

I have NEVER known whose pockets I was lining at any other artists concerts I have attended. And I didn't care. I don't buy/not buy with someone else in mind. I buy/not buy based on what will make ME happy.

But thanks to whoever posted about the shirts on the street with tour dates on the back. Love the shirts with tour dates and I will keep a sharp eye out for someone selling them.

I am going to have a GREAT time tonight, and I guarantee you, Jonathan Todd's name will not even cross my mind. After all, he's a flash in the pan....my memories and my t-shirt I'll have forever.

What is up with the continual OLD DESIGNS on their TOUR SHIRTS???

Get RID of the Rumours cover shirts! Seen enough already!

The penguin is old news too. Ive seen that on a shirt too.

Normally I would go so far as to buy a teddy bear, but this one - yuck. The little "FM" shirt design is awful and fits the bear akwardly.

Is it me - or is that "flying figures" shirt just bizarre?

Thanks for posting the link however. Ill buy mine in advance to save some money.

Well at the show I was at Saturday they had alot of t shirts...they had a light blue SYW t shirt with their faces on it..I didn't like it. They had a Rumours shirt with the album on the cover...they had a SYW black shirt that I bought because it was sharp, they had a Peacekeeper black t shirt, they had a 75 year shirt, they had floating SYW shirts in red and white I believe ( yes, they did look strange) and thats about it. They looked nice so I got one. They also had a red hat, a teddy bear and a keychain for 5 bucks, I bought that as well.

I didn't see anything else and they had LOTS of stands and they were all filled with people..so they are selling well. Half the people put their shirts right on. I say buy it, I did and I don't care, I wanted a momento.

HA with shipping the total was $32.xx (compared to what, $35 at the show?) so I decided to wait. I only wanted one anyway. If I wanted several (I practically got every shirt at the TISL tour) it would have been financially good, but just for one... Ill wait.

Anyone seen these penguin "member" shirts being offered at the concerts? I just checked fanfire again and looked at them. Of course it says member exclusive but anyone can get it. Just wondering since all the shirts here were at the concerts, if this one is too?

I guess I am going to cave and buy another shirt at the concert....I want to wear the one I bought but since I have been hearing the horror stories...I am leary as I want to save it. But as someone so nicely put, its nice to wear them and show the world I love FM... :)
Maybe tour books will be out by the Nashville concert....any word on that either?

I bought the black "Fleetwood Mac World Tour 2003" shirt with the bands faces on the front. The back says "What's the world comin to?" and lists cities.

Shirt says "world tour", must be true, right? :)

Also, I didn't see any red hats, the hats were all black.

And I don't think anyone mentioned the coffee mug for $15.

As far as sizing, 2 shirts were offered in XXL, and one was offered in youth sizes.

I wore the black TISL shirt with Rhiannon Stevie on the front and cities on the back. Got some compliments! Love that!

a Coffee Mug, What is on it?
I had a TISL one but broke it last month while doing some rearranging in my room:(

My next question is where is this tourbook? I am getting pretty annoyed with the delay on this unless this was a lie. My two shows are coming up soon. So if it is fact I hope it will be ready for the Worcester shows.

Is the mug porcelain/clay or plastic? What color, and what's on it?
Just curious.

The mug is black ceramic with "Fleetwood Mac" in red lettering.

I didn't look at it up close because I own way too many coffee mugs, but I think I could see it well enough to describe it to you.

It looked good.

Isn't anyone appalled at how bad the tour merchanise is? An f-in teddy bear? A Rumours shirt? The shirts I've seen looked as if monkeys designed them. In fact, monkeys would have done a better job, considering it looks like people who are responsible put 2 minutes worth of effort into them. For the first time, aside from the fan club debacle, I feel like fans are really getting fleeced.

And all the hope for a tour program? If it materializes at all, do you expect it to be of a high quality (in addition to a high price)?
Don't bet on it!

The band members and record company are ultimately responsible. They hire the inept, unprofessional people who are in charge of such things. If I were one of the band members, I'd feel ashamed of feeding fans such glaringly substandard crap. Apparently the care and time they put into making their music doesn't extend to their ancillary marketing efforts. They seem so far out of touch with their fan base. It's all inexcusable.

I don't foresee any hope on the tourbook front:(
And who knows if it will have anything new in it or just the same pics we've already seen. They should have been out by now as we are definitely many shows into this tour. UGHHHH!! Can you tell how annoyed the tourbook subject is with me?!

Yea the same pics that were so special to see on the fan club website, just so happened to be ALL the same pics from the cd cover and inside.
Did anyone kind of just let out a small sigh of dissappointment when there were no new pics in the cd book, that we have not seen already on the .com?

I feel the same way about the tourbooks :(
I think its wishful thinking. I mean we are already 2 weeks into the tour...I will continue to keep my fingers crossed and think of the positive ------> their live shows!

Maybe it's me, but I'm not really seeing a problem with the tour merchandise. It doesn't look any different than it has for past Mac tours. There are a variety of styles, even if you take into consideration the "Rumours" design popping up again. The one complaint I have are the prices. A tour book would have been nice, but not if it turned out anything like the one for TISL. What a waste that was. I don't need to see a picture of the ocean, or thunder clouds in a tour book.
