I remember they did EOTW for the opening show in Hartford, then after that the song was dropped.

Well, it is still very early in the tour. Since the new material seems to be getting a good resposne (according to reports), I'm sure another new song could be added in.

Just from other people I know from work who have purchased the CD..."Thrown Down" needs to be added, as my co-workers always mention that song as a highlight of the CD, not to mention "Bleed to Love Her," which I'm still surprised is not in the set list this time around. I presume they think THE DANCE tour wore that one out...

Please please PLEASE let them play it tonight in Pittsburgh. Running through the Garden is my favorite new song that they were playing, and Stevie needs a higher energy new song for the tour. Without it, that leaves Destiny Rules as the most uptempo new song she's doing. Maybe they just forgot to play it...VERY wishful thinking, I know, but hopefully. Maybe they'll replace it with Everybody Finds Out. Again, VERY wishful thinking.

Oh noooo! :mad: I can't believe they dropped it already. It was definitely one of my favorite songs off the new album. I was really looking forward to hearing that one live! I sure hope that maybe they will add it back into the setlist. Stevie really needs a rockin' song to sing besides Stand Back.

Did they add a new song in its place?

~~~Due to past precedent, I was afraid that a song or two would be dropped from the set. However, I didn't think it would happen so soon in the tour. I too was looking forward to Running Through the Garden.~~~
No RTTG? Oh no!
I wanted to hear that one!
Maybe it was just a one time deal.
I can't believe it!! This is soooo disappointing! RTTG is probably my fav Stevie song on the new album (aside from GB), and I was so looking forward to hearing it live, especially after everyone saying how good it was in Columbus....
I just hope they put it back in the setlist by the time Nashville rolls around, lol. Pleassssse!
if in a month's time the setlist may change as they get into stride of the tour? I know a few of the new SYW songs I would like to hear in the live environment...Brian "I Want Out" J.
This TICKS me off to no end. next to Beautiful Child and Come, this was the song i was MOST looking forward to. How do they drop a song after one show:confused: I'm glad they've now ADDED Second Hand News, but if it was a choice between the two, i'd want RTTG.
And BTW I'm not for spoiling it for those who don't wished to be spoiled, but i think this is too serius to keep hidden. That's why i started a thread about this, and it says write on the title that RTTG has been dropped. If there is ANY way for us to get it back on the set, i say we TRY. Send NUMEROUS emails to the official sites. Yell at concerts that we eant it back. Bring signs. do WHATEVER it takes. I just feel so CHEATED. the new stevie songs we are getting on this tour are a joke. I would LOVE to hear Illume, Thrown Down, Smile At You, Runnign Though the Garden Destiny Rules or Everybody Finds Out. And of those, we DID have 2. But now we have ONE. ONE of SIX. But we are being given SYW. The bland single, live song, and Goodbye Baby.
She's still singing Destiny Rules.
RTTG is my favorite song on the album. If they MUST get rid of it, to me the only acceptable alternatives would be Thrown Down (the fact it's not being performed suggests it won't be a single, which is STUPID. It's the one song on the album that everybody seems to like), EFO (it's new and fast-tempo), Seven Wonders (it's from her later FM catalog), or (we should be so lucky) Fireflies.
But I still want RTTG back.
I'm guessing that it's dropped because it's too much strain on her voice or they want a more even split between Stevie & Lindsey songs. The only other possibility I can think of is that the song evokes feelings of bitterness/hurt the way recent posts suggest Sara does, so she doesn't want to do it live anymore. But I don't think that that's it. I mean, if she can bring herself to do Goodbye Baby...
I think an acceptable replacement would be Don't Let Me Down Again. I'm kinda bummed that they're not doing that one.
Yep. They dropped this awesome song from the set list in Pittsburgh. I was in row 2, and RTTG was on setlist that a security guy showed me (I don't know why he had it), but then they didn't play it, much to my disappointment. They played Second Hand News instead, which really got the crowd going!
I just went to the link to hear the live version of RTTG & if they don't play it again, they're nuts.
Yeah but RTTG has that cheesey coating of Other Side Of The Mirror-esque 80's bloat and I think they want to keep the set as fresh as possible. Second Hand News is a welcome replacement - it will never sound dated and it had been out of the set list for so long - until 97.
The bigger question is where the hell has Sara gone? I'll never understand why Stevie doesn't think it comes off well on stage. I thought it was gorgeous during the Tusk tour and Lindsey's guitar was like butter.
What we're guessing on the Stevie board is that Don Henley's publicized theory (that Sara refers to her abortion) makes her reluctant to perform it again.
She and the others sound fantastic and very rocking on the RTTG that I heard from the first live show that has been posted. Will the June 3, 2003 Atlanta show EVER get here!!!!:cool:
I heard Stevie didnt want to do Sara again because it sounded horrible with the acoustic / electric sound to it. I have several live versions of Sara though and find it a delightful song live.
I really want to hear RTTG... "fingers crossed" it will come back on the list...
