I am so curious to hear how the concert went and what was changed and what was said different. I am still on a major high from the Columbus concert so I can only imagine the smiles on their faces. :)
Waiting..and waiting....on this dreary rainy saturday!
Oh have a good weekend everyone...

And please do post all reviews on The Penguin too! The big blue button on the left of the Ledge will take you to the right place. Thanks.

I got to the MCI center around 6:30 with my wife and daughters. We had the chance to hear them do SYW and DS on their sound check that got me ready. We had good seats in section 111. The songs sounded unbelivable!! In no order:
Come-amazing this song rocks and the crowd loved it.
Beautiful Child was excellent live, Stevie's voice was at top form
Say Goodbye and Destiny's Rule were fantastic live (I cant wait to get some live boots of this tour)
They did a great job with a new Eyes's of the World approach
Stevie singing with Lindsey on Never Going Back Again was a surprise.I miss Chris but I must say Stevie on lead with Lindsey on World Turning was outstanding! (Don't Stop worked well) I think Lindsey really got a lot off encouragement from the audience. (however my daughter tells me she noticed many "fans" taking their bathroom break when his songs came on) I expalined to her that some do attend to see just Stevie and her "back up band". Peacekeeper and Say You Will were strong and with a lot of life. This show had ATTITUDE and ENERGY and LOTS of it. I'm glad I saw one of the early shows and I hope the energy continues throught the tour.

(SPOILER INFORMATION)
it was great, wasn’t it, BLY!!!
Relax folks.. Fleetwood Mac still rocks!!!
Fleetwood Mac rocked in D.C. last night - and I was fortunate to be in the 10th row center... and they did allow cameras for the show. (btw, security was a cake walk.)
now on to the show..
I love this setlist!!!!!!
The highlights for me were:
Lindsey Buckingham Lindsey Buckingham Lindsey Buckingham
Wow. I was completely mesmerized by his playing.. he broke the guitar string on “Come" - he physically brought the arena to a standing ovation by the time he finished playing the song. Lindsey got more than one standing ovation.. He ruled the guitar world last night. I heard these comments after the show.. "that guitar player was incredible.. damn, can he play.. man, does he have energy, etc.“ He really left an impression on D.C.
It’s always great to hear "I'm So Afraid.” It sizzled.
“Never Going Back Again“ and “Eyes of the World” both sound fresh again, and “What’s the World Coming To” shines.
Lindsey gives Fleetwood Mac its energy!!
and
Stevie Nicks Stevie Nicks Stevie Nicks..
Although her voice got muffled a few times in the mix, for the most part you could hear how beautiful her voice was last night. Her voice quivered with strength and passion.
yes, I cried last night. "Beautiful Child" is simply that. Beautiful. Never in a million years did I think I would be hearing this "Tusk" gem live.. and last night's rendition was a gem!
"Landslide" had everyone singing along “I’m getting older, too..” Stevie's voice soared throughout the arena with her fans..
"Silver Springs" was another nice surprise, although she has tamed down the ending by leaving out the "..never get away.. never get away..." but, ’Silver Springs’ is still wonderful live.
I love "Destiny Rules" on record, but it didn‘t transfer well to stage, imho.. It slowed the show.. which had been cooking.. and now that I have heard “Running Through the Garden” from the Columbus show, I beg the band to replace “Destiny Rules” with “Garden.” or add “Illume” or “Everybody Finds Out.”
“Gypsy” was nice to hear, but “Thrown Down” would have made such a nicer replacement. Or maybe play "Gypsy" the way it was played at the AHI benefit. (it was cool seeing the gypsy video playing in the background...)
The power trio of “Tusk“, “Stand Back“, and “Go Your Own Way“..
This is the part of the show where everyone got on their feet and remained standing for the rest of the concert... folks, they are gonna do “Stand Back” and they should.. it got one of the loudest applauses of the night and they did rock it.. Stevie forgot to go over and pick up her shawl, so tonight was the first shawless performance of Stand Back. It rocked and fits so nicely in between ‘Tusk” and “Go Your Own Way.” The crowd loved all three... the band, especially Mick and Lindsey, were at the top of their game by the time “Go Your Own Way” finished..
“World Turning” and “Don’t Stop” were terrific encore songs. The fans were waiting for “Don’t Stop” and no one around me seemed to mind that Christine was missing. Stevie sounds so cute on the song. I loved it..
and a very nice surprise ending with “Goodbye Baby.” What a nice way to end the night, although I think another song would have been better.
And finally, my most absolute favorite part of the concert last night: “Say Goodbye”. I honestly think it would have been the perfect closing song.. it was the best part of the show last night.. I can’t even begin to describe its beauty.. ah. ah.. thank goodness for bootlegs, so we can relive this wonderful live music..
and thanks to Torri, Livia, and Josephine for stopping by last night before the show.. it was nice listening to ‘Say You Will’ with other fans and talking about the music!! Next time you will drink the Bombay Sapphire gin!
..one last comment. I wasn’t planning on buying a t-shirt until I spotted the white shirt with ‘the penguin wearing a top hop logo’ on it. A Classic Mac look. Cool, cool shirt. I picked it up on my way out. What a perfect way to end the night. I went to bed smiling with my favorite band playing in my head. :-)

I was there last night too. It was outstanding!!! I loved every song and the crowd was very receptive as well. The highlights for me were Beautiful Child (she sounds just as good as she did on the album and it's in the SAME KEY!), Silver Springs, and I'm so Afraid. Stevies voice is so much stronger than on TISL tour. And anyone who was having qualms about Lindsey, forget it. He is fantastic and performs with so much energy! The vest part with Mick was actually a lot of fun. Not nearly as frightening as the Tango video!
I can't believe Running Through the Garden was already dropped from the setlist!!!! I kept waiting for it, and it never came. :(
I'm off to Pittsburgh and the FRONT ROW tonight. I'm on cloud 9!

Wow, it is wonderful to read them. I first found The Penguin in 1997 because I wanted to read the reviews from fans, and this concert is not letting me down. The feeling still remains.
Keith, your review was the closest thing to being there I've read yet! They are ALL heart warming to read, and it's great to see you guys celebrating. (even Bombay Sapphires!) I hope you all transfer your reviews to the "review" section so they will be a permanent part of The Penguin.
I definitely want The Penguin shirt wearing the Top Hat! VERY cool.

Pardon? Where did you hear "Running through the garden" from the Columbus Show? Is there a mp3 bootleg floating around? Where can I find it? Please give me some information about it. Thanks, Stefan :wavey:

How was attendance at the DC show? Did the arena look full?

*SPOILER INFO*
But I still think gin is icky. :)
Folks, you are in for the ride of your life! Best. Set list. Ever. Blows the Dance out of the water. I want a DVD!!!
Well, Keith summed up my thoughts exactly...bring the kleenex, you're gonna need it! The 1-2 punch of Landslide and Say Goodbye...omg! Say Goodbye is slowed down from the album version and is flawless!! Hearing Beautiful Child live was priceless!!!!
Stevie forgetting to grab her Stand Back cape - LOL. Stevie said, "This is SYW" before EOTW, and then she said, "Okay, NOW this is SYW," before they really played it...cute.
LB was simply brilliant!
The band was clearly having a blast...the crowd was great, and yes, the place seemed to be full. There were a lot of people sitting behind the stage.
I'm looking forward to attending more shows and the vicarious pleasure of reading everyone else's experiences. Meeting Ledgies face-to-face is always fun, we rock!
:wavey:
Great reviews! Thanks for taking the time, we love to read them.
Livia & Marissa...wake up....we want to hear from you guys. I can't wait to hear Livia's since she didn't know the set list, she must have been blown away! !WAKE UP!
I have a question...since there were so few songs in the past where Lindsey & Stevie *really* sang together and to each other, how was that and what songs is this especially memorable on?
I'm so glad the band is rocking and I did expect them to drop something, it's still a pretty great set list for FM. They're not playing it safe with 7 new songs and a few old ones brought to life. I can't wait to hear Beautiful Child:) Now, if ONLY Lindsey would do Red Rover, my life would be wonderful:)

***SPOILER***
Well, I wasn't *completely* surprised w/ the set list. As you know, a couple songs were leaked out in subject lines (and yes, I STILL consider the Stand Back/Mick's Vest thread to be a spoiler, since both of those ARE included in the show)... but you know, once you're there, and even if you know all the songs, when you hear those opening notes for the first time, you will lose it! LOL I don't know how many times I screamed, "Oh my God," at the beginning of a song. LOL
I kinda missed WTWCT, cuz that's when I decided to go hunt down Marissa to say hello and freak her out! LOL
The LB/SN interaction/chemistry, whatever you wanna call it, was most prevalent during Say Goodbye, imo. Stevie got a little teary-eyed herself during that song.

Glad you rang in Livia! Gin is icky, but the bottle is sure pretty! I bought a miniature bottle, once, just for the color! (HICCUP!) It was wonderful to hear your review!
Hmmm, the Garden State Girlie is probably STILL sleeping in after the long ride home! Call LOUDER! LOL!
Okay, let's all chant, "DVD SHOW, DVD SHOW, DVD SHOW!" ;)

It sounds like you had a great time and you were surprised!
I'm not into the S/L chemistry romantic things. I'm sorry I didn't ask my question properly. I guess many of us fans have been waiting a long time to hear them sing together on a song, similiar to Twisted. I got the impression from the reviews of the first show that there is more harmony/duet like singing to each other in this show than in previous tours, and I was wondering what songs give that feeling.
Tango...Uh...ok....DVD...DVD....maybe that's what they're going to do with all that video streaming from the tour going on at the official fan club!! I don't think so, since they haven't even put up one stupid picture from the tour. We're left to read a description of the stage set in an email. I'm sure we'll get more backstage info from fans who actually get backstage, than from the "club".

Great reviews!!! Wow I really want to see them again....but I lived through it again with your great responses....
Yes I hope that there is a video out there or something cause this tour HAS to be on film!
Thanks again for the reviews....I bet your on a high right now :)
Tamara:wavey:
I think for me, Never Going Back Again and World Turning were "classic song" highlighting Stevie and Lindsey's vocals. The new tracks were excellent as far as the "dueting". Having been a fan since 1977 this Album and show has been as exciting as the Rumours tour! To hear the Buckingham/Nicks sound in 2003....What a great show..........Now for the bootlegs!

even though cameras are allowed, it doesn't matter much if you don't know how to take pictures. Maybe I should get out the manual and read it for once.
Anyways, my blurry, but colorful pics from last night are featured on this link.. hey.. they could make for interesting artwork for bootleg covers.. :-)

~~~Keith, great review thanks. I too love Destiny Rules. So I hope they keep it in the set even if it slows the pace. So sorry I'll miss Running... Maybe it will find its may back in the set or maybe Thrown Down will make an appearance. I can hope~~~
hey Keith...how ya doin? Great to hear from you...and how was
Torri...if she's been on the ledge I've missed her. I wanted to
reply about the dropped song...too bad...but as high energy as this concert is...they looked sooo tired at the end...I thought. Also to reply about the whole picture-taking thing...even with
800 speed...I always got a couple good pics and the rest looked
like acid trip flares! Anyone that gets good sound on tape at
this concert...you know we'd love to order some! Also...DON'T
dry those t-shirts!!!! I got an extra large and it is now roughly
the size of a hankerchief. And..hearing about the radio contests
reminded me that in Columbus...they released 300 pair of tickets
fer free for vets and military families...thought that was pretty cool. Thanks for the reviews guys
Lindsey was as I have never seen the guy before-unreal!
I will post my review soon's I cut it and paste it from another site-I couldn't get on the Ledge yesterday.
Keith-sorry I missed you-they wouldn't let me on your floor to see if I could find you.
DC Ledgies-I know somebody here must have taped this show? Hmm? Own up now=:-) We can't all be the BIG CHICKEN that I am. I actually was going to try until Livia said something about metal detectors-LOL! I have to have a copy of this show. There were 3 or 4 songs that were different from the album version and I want 'em because they are better I think-Come, for example...Say Goodbye..etc.
