From Jonathan Todd's latest fan club email:

"#2. FLEETWOOD MAC FACT CONTEST: Within two weeks we expect to post a game
of MAC FACTS on the Club Site. This game will have prizes for the first
400 members who get all the answers right! You can keep playing the game
until you win and if you’re in the group of the first 400 members to get
all questions right – you’ll receive a prize. We have some cool stuff for
these prizes. We found a collection featuring hand crafted Egyptian items
ranging from sterling silver earrings to ceramic necklaces to scarab beads
and bracelets. These items are made in Egypt and a portion of the proceeds
is donated to charities whose mission is to preserve the monuments of the
Ancient Land and to aid needy children in Egypt. If you’re a winner, we’ll
send you a prize from this collection. We’ll cover the shipping and
handling for all our winners too! Once we have our winners, we’ll move the
quiz over to the main Fleetwood Mac site for everyone to play – but without
the prizes! Stay tuned for more details. We’ll email you an announcement
when we begin the contest."

I am speechless. I'm sorry, but is this a Fleetwood Mac fan club or the QVC channel?

Yea, a better contest would be, who can make like a Mexican and beat the **** out of Jonathan Todd with a baseball bat piñata style. The first fan club member to crack the guy gets a nifty spleen and charcoal heart AND good tickets to the show! Now THAT'S a real game.

Wasn't the MF site offering some strange drawings awhile back ? I think they were Erte but my memory fails me. It also seems to me that there were some other arcane items he was hawking. Random. My money says these "prizes" are some lame ass keychains and 99 cent store reject earrings.

What the HELL am I going to do with Egyptian friggin' earrings? I'm not into dressing like Stevie at the concerts or elsewhere
I'm all for charity, but wouldn't AHI or a leukemia foundation have been more in keeping with the "interests" of this band?
Why do I get the feeling Mick has bought stock in sterling silver. Hmmmm....

And BTW, I get an e-mail from the fan club about once a week. I didn't get this one. And when they do arrive, I get the same email twice. And you know what? I don't care. I've never gotten a helpful email from this club. Each time I see an email it just slaps me in the face as a reminder that I've been ripped off.

Is this one of the perks that the few believers have been holding onto?

Uh...I'm sure the guys are gonna be lovin the earrings and necklaces.

I think this is more along the lines of Sears or Pathetic Fanclubs Anonymous.

He has so much clout with WB and his fancy lunches with Mick that he could only get 2 cds and 2 posters out of them. I bet this jewlery must have set him back a good $50 at the local flea market.

Everytime you think this couldn't get any more pathetic and reach any new lows, it manages to reach deeper. Gee, there's how many more months of this tour left.

PLEASE... Stevie John or Lindsey, save the fans from this torture! I would say this gives being a fan a whole new meaning.

Can't wait to see what he's got in store for the people who were unhappy with the first presale. He did say he was going to make it up to us. Maybe we're getting personally monogramed Hefty bags or Fleetwood Mac Flip Flops.

Hey, maybe we're being unfair.
This new FM/QVC marriage is fetching.
I, for one, would love to have the chance to get my hands on my very own Chia-Stevie. I understand it makes a great gift for the holidays. Do you think they could manufacture 400 of them for me to win (each with a different Chia-Stevie hairstyle)? That would be so worth my fan club investment.
And while they're at it, maybe they could offer a Clapper that allows me to turn the power off on Mick's vest during each concert.
Then there's the Thigh-with-wooden-balls-Master.
Am I leaving out any other tasteful goods? Remember, this is for charity.

If ONLY a clapper would shut that spitting drum machine off! I say it's going to take a dozen hits with some rotten fruit.

I think "someone" (cough adminstrator cough), would be REAL interested in that Thigh-with-wooden-ball-Master. She'd be trading in her rehearsal tickets in a flash for a shot at Mick between her thighs. That's for making all of us read those disgusting remarks and fantasies for the last 6 months!

Well, I for one believe it isn't a party without PEZ. Get your collectible Fleetwood Mac PEZ people right here! (alcohol flavored PEZ) Only $99.99 with your membership to the SHAMclub. Oh, wait! Stevie Nicks bobbleheads!!! She'll rock out to the beat of "Gypsy." OR, we could have the Fleetwood Mac whoopie cushion. Instead of making a fart noise, it'll have Lindsey talking about Cycles for 38.6 seconds. Or we could have the stranger danger whistle. When you blow into it, it plays Silver Girl, thus making your attacker either wheep with dispair and run the other way OR fall to the ground covering his ears. Safety first people, safety first.

I can't believe he is doing this in Fleetwood Mac's name. Mick's name, fine - because Mick is fully responsible for what this creep does on his site ... but that he's taken over this whole FLeetwood Mac enterprise? It's not far from nauseating.

Whenever someone honest, much less someone who already appears to be somewhat shady, says "a portion of the proceeds
is donated to charities" I cringe; I have seen to many organizations thorw a party using this line and give $.10 out of each dollar after costs.

Moreover, when they do not specifically name the charity is further heightens my suspicions. They could easily form their own charity, pay themselves a salary, and then donate the pitiful rest (after expenses which go to themselves) to some legit charity in Egypt.

I think this creep owes us a full accounting ( ).

Now why do you suppose it's going to take 2 weeks to post the game of facts? I suspect that Mr Todd does NOT know enough MAC FACTS to start this game so he's going to have to comb the Penguin site looking for those MAC FACTS.

Jonathan, you do know that the Penguin site is copyrighted so you wouldn't be planning on stealing the MAC FACTS from the Penguin site, the same way you stole the discography from the Penguin?

I've been LOL about his 400 pcs of jewlery. We can ONLY imagine the high quality of these items if "Jonathan Todd" is GIVING away !!!400!!! pieces! Sounds like to me they are getting desperate. More money needed!! I unfortunatly joined this "fan club" to get better seats for the concert which, like most of us, we got better seats with the general sale. I used to receive almost 4-5 emails a day from the fan club and now rarely get one. I think its cause I deleted all the other ones as I did not need to read the nonsense they sent.
This new "idea" sounds like a ploy to get more and I hate to say this..suckers..to join.

So, move on, and there never was a strike. A movement to right a wrong only, and we didn't strike, we were mistreated, kicked off, demeaned and defamed over THERE. We owe them nothing at all. If you are going to address my question, that's one thing. But if you are going to dredge up whatever you've accumulated in your bag of perceived bulletin board offenses committed by CarneVaca, you might be just stepping into the precarious area of engaging in personal feuds, which I would remind you is against Ledge rules. I have nothing against you, nor do I remember your previous posts. By that rationale, we shouldn't help Southern children because a few Southerners made a sport of lynching black people? And I'm out of my mind!?

Again, I am all for donating to charity, esp. a charity that benefits children.

I just think that when Mr. Todd, or anyone for that matter, asserts that a "portion" of proceeds goes to an unnamed charity that he touts as benefiting children, he should be able to back that vague statement up with names, percentages, and facts before I will give him one cent. I have seen too many people take my money I gave for an allegedly charitible cause and use it on themselves and give a rather small portion (maybe 5%) to a charity. So, while I am not saying Mr. Todd is fraudulently doing anything, I am saying that if Mr. Todd is really interested in getting my money, he has to show me exactly how much is going to what specific charity. Until that happens, I politely say no thank you.

For me the bottom line is if we are gonna help children, lets start here in America, and if we want to give to a charity, lets each one do it on our own time and not join a fan club to do it.

I think that he would be more interested in providing articles and items that pertain to the band to us, not bobbles that mean nothing to us and then proclaiming that they are doing something for charity. Makes no sense to me.

And, sorry if the other person found my answer garbled... I did not intend to attack and you attacking me does not right what you thought was an attack. (how is that garble? even I have to read that one twice!!) I am really bad to think and type and sometimes, it just goes awry. Bear with please.

I just would really like to see the fans pull together as much as possible on all this. We are not gonna all agree, that is human nature, but, as to what happened to the fans and to the promises and some things that you all do not know yet, we need to be together. There are a lot more things that you will find out.

Our best interests have never been at anyones heart in this whole thing, imo. I was robbed imo, I do not consider video of the inside of an abandoned airplane cabin, Mick touring an empty house or driving an old car in circles, content worthy of my money. Never mind the fact that I cannot get a decent seat at a concert while hundreds go on sale on eBay the day of our private presales. HUNDREDS. I think like 900 were on there the day of the first presale. Does not anyone wonder about that?

So, I am gonna try to stick to the issues and what I feel that I want and need to say. I do not like Jonathan Todd, who he is, what he stands for, nor how he does business. But, that is not what this is about. This is about FANS being treated poorly and taken to the cleaners because we are good fans and love FMac. We trusted something that was in the name of Mick Fleetwood and Fleetwood Mac.

I do not have any animosity toward the ppl who are here and who are fans. Only those who have chosen to align themselves with someone who has treated their fellow fans so shabbily. And mostly, I feel sorry for them.

You can say about us, "they deserved it, they started stinks over there, they kept upset going all the time, etc.", but, try to remember, that is NOT how that all started.

Questions were asked and concerns were voiced about things like them using our screen names as our passwords, why weren't we offered the LTD Edition cds, when would they upgrade us to them, why couldn't we find out about upcoming appearances from the fan club, and on and on...and he Never answered us. He disregarded us because I think that he thought that we would go away or be cowed by his censorship to shut the questions up and then it got nastier and nastier and nastier.

Yes, it fell all to hell...all to smithereens. BUT, it could have been avoided totally. And the one to have kept it from happening was Jonathan Todd, just by answering the questions, expressing concerns over our concerns and not telling others to "slap some sense" into the questioners, who were then complainers. He pitted fan against fan. Perhaps he found ppl who were not sure of themselves and felt proud and honored to be one of his ppl, I cannot say, but, I can say that this whole thing is a sorry state of affairs that only one person could have prevented.

LMAO!
I was just thinking I hope nobody makes a Stevie bobblehead!
Maybe the club can add Chris & John Precious Moments figurines for that touch of class in any FM fan's home.
And Lindsey troll dolls.
And the "Gold and Braid" Flow-bie to cut our own hair.
We should do the marketing! Mr. Todd, are you paying attention?

Yeah, there's a kiosk in the mall near the food court selling that stuff. I'll watch out for him. ;)

If you're a member of the fanclub there is a new drawing of some kind where you have to send an email and provide your name, address, password and PHONE NUMBER!

I think everyone should think TWICE before giving the fanclub their phone number. Considering the past actions of the fanclub and the way they have run their business, do you really want them to have your telephone number? Do you know what they will do with it and who they might give this to or possibly sell this to at some point. If you read the lastest changes to the disclaimer on the club site, it's been changed numerous times and it asks you to agree to any changes that will/might be made in the future. This was not the disclaimer or agreement most of us were shown when we joined and is an indication of why you should remember their past actions when it comes to changing promises, guarantees or any other things you were told. Even though they might never do anything with your phone number, is this a company who you'd want to take that chance with?

Many of us have unlisted numbers and I don't see a problem telling them

"my phone number is unlisted, please contact me by email or snail mail if I win your contest."

Since all contests have very strict rules that the fanclub would have to follow, they could NOT take you out of the running for the drawing based on your having an unlisted number.
