Does anyone have word for word the now infamous "slap down" memo?

I love that one. woo, really?!! A packing invoice!!! After I read that, I made up my mind that I would NOT be ordering the cd from that trash of a site.
Wish I would have known better before I joined their lame-ass fan club.

Knight's words the day of the first fan club ticket sale 3/13
"The Fan Club offers a block of reserved seats that are great and then the general public seats before the GP gets access on Saturday. HOW GOOD your seats are depends on when you sign in and how many others are fighting for those seats when you are trying to buy. The Fan Club value regarding tickets is that you're choosing with a very small group compared to the public onsale. While you may not get the seats you hoped for, the seats you get now should be better than what you would get if you went to the public onsale."
That was his lame explanation for why nobody got the type of seats they expected and were promised.
Here are his words in a fan club email dated ten days earlier on 3/5
""IN ADDITION TO THE BLOCK for members, you get a chance to select from ALL THE GENERAL PUBLIC SEATING BEFORE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ONSALE!!"
And who can forget this gem from the same email...
"It's first come-first served so you want to come in when "the doors open" to get the best choices."
We all know it WAS NOT FIRST COME for BEST CHOICE. What happend to the access to all the general public seats? The word ALL means ALL. I guess general public seating could mean something else, but I don't know what, or how buyers are supposed to know what's excluded. Do you?

OMG, "spot what is wrong with this sentence". First, he makes it sound you're making money (hah!) out of sararhiannon.com. Then he seems to think that "Stevie Nicks live in Paris" is something Stevie would want copyrighted. And all this after he linked to your site for.. well, I've forgotten whatever song it was (ACLU Peacekeeper?), and told his board to go download it from you. Wtf?
Oh look - here's a new remark from Jonathon Todd:

And honourable mention for being told that the extortionate price for shipping the pre-ordered Say You Will to the UK 'would be looked into' Just to remind people that had I pre-ordered from the official site my shipping cost would be around $80. Even though I never had the pleasure of knowing you, Sarah, before all the **** at Mick's board and the fan club rip off, I'm sure he considers me one of the "followers." Look, Mr., for your information I know a con when I see one. What a joke! He dares to accuse everyone who spoke out against his shady ways of being a follower of some imagined conspiracy. Why would anyone go through all this trauma to make trouble for him UNLESS his deeds warranted the backlash? He's fooling himself if he thinks he's only dealing with a small pocket of psycho fans who do nothing but go around the Internet causing trouble.
Yes, it's true. He tried to con doctors, lawyers, teachers, stock brokers, students, housewives, and people from every walk of life. The mistake he made was thinking FM fans would not see through his cons and would just buy into whatever he said and did in the name of FM. As soon as questions arose the bannings and deletions began. Until his motives and dealings were questioned it was perfectly OK to post copyright material on Mick's board and he even linked to Sarah's site himself. Then he had the nerve to steal the discography from this site! He allowed any kind of personal attacks at Mick's board as long as the offenders never called him into question. Somehow, if you mentioned anything negative or gave a clear indication you had questions or issues with the way Mick's board or the fan club was being run, OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!
The real "followers" in this are the people who continue to validate him by going to Micks site, and worst of all are the ones who have directly allied themselves with him. My problem with the band goes beyond them not taking any responsibility with what's going on. I have no respect for them allowing him to weild his sword of access to certain perks as a way of courting allies. His fan operatives are the ones who need looking at. He desperately needs them to keep his smoke screen blowing, but you'd think they'd have enough sense to know that what he's doing is wrong. Why should they care, though, if it's clear that the band doesn't care? Even if the band sold the rights to the club and is unable to fire him, don't tell me they have to give him VIP perks to pay off his operatives with too! I'm not buying it.

to get

I was one of "8 or so" people that were causing problems for JT. My main problem was the deletion of threads. Censorship irritates me to no end. I can go back to the site (somehow my banned status didn't make the change over from my old computer to my new one) but I choose not too. I too was never given a reason for being banned... to quote Todd in an email after I was banned:
Of the few members we had to ban, it hurt me the most to lose you. You used to be a great contributor but something snapped. I tried to contact you, as you know, to speak with you first and find out what it is that is making you so upset.
He did not try to contact me until I emailed him to ask why I was banned. I was never actually given a reason for him banning me. I am told that I didn't break any rules hence the fact I was re-instated. He didn't like my sarcasm but I don't recall sarcasm being against the rules ... and I only made sarcastic remarks when I was ignored or my posts were deleted! Of course, it was the venue presales even though there w have been thousands of Ebay auctions started within hours of all of the presales, it's someone elses fault. Now, now Jonathan... you know that wasn't the whole truth about why people couldn't purchase tickets during the first presale!! There you go again, blaming everyone else for your mistakes! I would have thought you could have come up with something a little more original and believable than people who tried over and over and over again all of a sudden couldn't type. Shame on you, when all along you knew the real truth about why those people couldn't purchase tickets!
Oh...and whatever happened to your looking into what could be done to make it up to the people who were so screwed in the first presale? We never heard back from you...where have you gone? But from what we've heard the people in the other presales haven't been too thrilled with their seats. A smart man would've learned from the first presale, but you'd have to care about your customers to want to make them happy and we know you don't care about the FM fans, don't we.

As they say in radio, long time listener, first time caller. Anyway, here are some of my favorites (with my commentary interspersed):
First, from March 2, commenting on a Fleetwood Mac “mini-concert” that JT attended with other “invited guests”:
“I have a difficult time saying this publicly, but I stood there and tears streamed down my cheeks. It was SOOOO GOOOD! I'm sure you'll all get the chance to see the full concert this year and I know you'll get just as choked up as I did.”
Right! Like I believe he was crying for the music. Maybe he got choked up thinking about all the money he was going to make. Another fun quote from March 2:
“Remember - the Fan Club price isn't going UP - It has been LOWER than the regular price to support ‘die-hard’ fans like you. Our thanks to the managers for keeping it low out of the gate in order to support the ‘regulars’!”
Thanks JT, the die-hard fans are really grateful for this. Then of course there was the Limited Edition CD that didn’t exist. From a March 5 email, after saying that the Limited Edition had not yet been approved:
“Many of you pre-ordered ‘Say You Will’ from Official sites already. If the new Limited Edition CD is approved, we'll offer you specials, discounts or upgrade options. You're the SuperFans and you ordered from Fleetwood Mac. We'll make it right for you and everyone who preordered!”
Last we heard of that promise! The funniest, though, are from JT’s marketing site, SabreMark. Here’s JT’s view of the problem with “most web sites,” and how his firm can help:
“Communication, sales and customer interaction are moving steadily away from traditional media and leaping onto the web. The problem? Most web sites focus on design rather than marketing to the client. SabreMark's Electronic Media division blends the best of design with solid marketing and sales to help your visitors enjoy their time on your site while getting your message loud and clear.”
Yup, I’ve always said the problem with most web sites is not enough marketing! Guess JT fixed that problem. Here’s his comment on a web site he designed for a heating and air conditioning firm (he boasts that he won a “prestigious” award for this site):
“We used unusual design techniques to ‘take over’ the user's entire window on startup and crafted the marketing twists including music, our unique appointment setter and our Cinematic Introduction, which lends credibility to the client's site and business. Instead of pretty web pages, we have a fast loading, emotionally appealing site with a bottom line sales mechanism to close sales for our client right on the web.”
Or this comment about another site he designed:
“HYPNOPOWER.COM is a site devoted to sales of non-drug solutions for common issues such as weight reduction and smoking cessation. The goal was to relax the potential client and create an artistically pleasing site which does the work to close product sales.”
Wonder what he’s going to say about the fan club site after this is all over? I’m sure glad the Mac hired this guy! NOT!!!!

The latest fan club email is filled with 'em!
First, the oh-so-enticing intro:
"Tomorrow night, May 7, 2003, the lights will dim at the Schottenstein
Center in Columbus, Ohio and (much like the opening of the introduction to
www.FleetwoodMac.com) the sound of Mick’s base drum will herald the
beginning of the new FLEETWOOD MAC tour! Stevie, Lindsey, John and Mick
will cast their magic spell and take us on that wild voyage of love, pain
and passion that can only be FLEETWOOD MAC! We’ve promised to keep Fan
Club Members posted during the tour. You’ve been patiently waiting for the
tour to begin. As we swing into gear, we want to share with you what’s in
the plan for the days and months ahead:"
And next, the Fleetwood Mac contest! If you win, you get... NON-FLEETWOOD MAC RELATED PRIZES!!
"FLEETWOOD MAC FACT CONTEST: Within two weeks we expect to post a game
of MAC FACTS on the Club Site. This game will have prizes for the first
400 members who get all the answers right! You can keep playing the game
until you win and if you’re in the group of the first 400 members to get
all questions right – you’ll receive a prize. We have some cool stuff for
these prizes. We found a collection featuring hand crafted Egyptian items
ranging from sterling silver earrings to ceramic necklaces to scarab beads
and bracelets. These items are made in Egypt and a portion of the proceeds
is donated to charities whose mission is to preserve the monuments of the
Ancient Land and to aid needy children in Egypt. If you’re a winner, we’ll
send you a prize from this collection. We’ll cover the shipping and
handling for all our winners too! Once we have our winners, we’ll move the
quiz over to the main Fleetwood Mac site for everyone to play – but without
the prizes! Stay tuned for more details. We’ll email you an announcement
when we begin the contest."
Oh, and check out the amazing PHOTOS!! A peek at the inside of a FRIGGIN JET!
"We have PHOTOS, AUDIO AND VIDEO COMING FROM THE ROAD! We expect a
more regular stream to post for you once the concerts begin. In addition
to shots and thoughts of the band members, we’re seeking out interesting

Then maybe he can explain how 6 venues had their "fan club tickets" go on sale at 9AM EST when he said it would be at 12 Noon PACIFIC time. He has YET to own up to screwing up on that, and screwing a lot of fans out of tickets. Many people "followed Mr. Todd's rules" and did not try to get tickets until 12Noon PACIFIC time as he directed. Fleetwood Mac tickets are gone in minutes, let alone the THREE HOURS that he had us wait. And he has YET to mitigate the damages or even offer an apology. He hasn't even admitted it was his fault. It's always "SOMEONE ELSE." If you continue to read his board SOMEONE ELSE is to blame for the cds not reaching the fans in time, SOMEONE ELSE is to blame for people not getting posters they ordered. SOMEONE ELSE stole the discography info from The Penguin.
Mr. Todd does not assume any professional accountability for his team. And I'm learning that's not the HALF of what he blames "SOMEONE ELSE" for.
Mr. Todd is the one that chose the fan club's passwords, WE didn't. "SOMEONE ELSE" is to blame for numerous fans having their ticket alottment stolen.
Mr. Todd, you have not represented Fleetwood Mac or it's fans well. In my business, you'd be OUTTA HERE, you and "SOMEONE ELSE."

You've lived your whole life and never knew it was all in vain. One day you were lucky enough to join the "Fleetwood Mac Fanclub" and overnight, your life is transformed. Not only do you get the chance to win cheap jewlery (a great perk for the men), but you get to see the inside of a refrigerator AND the inside of a private plane, all for $59.95. WHY would Mr. Todd feel the need to "copyright" his emails. Maybe because his very words keep coming back to haunt him.
Like this one:
"1. Here is the correct information about presales:
You will see other presales out there (some before ours). DON'T FRET! You're safe! The other presales you see are generally VENUE sales. Some are on sale now. The venue has the right to offer their season ticket holders and other VIP's advance sales. THESE DON'T AFFECT CLUB MEMBERS AS THEY CAN NOT ENTER YOUR CLUB RESERVED BLOCK OF TICKETS!"~Jonathan Todd

Haven't you heard? The video is coming. He gave someone the honor of addressing the issue of nothing from the fanclub and they hope to get it going this coming week. Of course, he ignored the dozens of posts over there asking and complaining about no content and did what he always does, picked one post where he could spin some words without taking on too many issues people are upset about.
But not to worry, they're still deleting posts over there, the police are out in force.
I guess all the backstage info and well connected stuff this club is seeeing right now is some roadie or fan phoning him with guest lists from dinners with the mangers (that no one cares about), and someone spotting LIndsey and his wife shopping.
You know this club, promises, promises, and the only thing they do consistently is disappoint you.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to spend valuable time at the start of a tour giving the members what they already paid you for when you can work on selling them something new.

I have a great wonder at the ppl over at the board still. Now even more of the originally faithful are starting to kick up sand , and their posts are being deleted. I have to marvel at their faithfulness in light of the fact that they are now being disrespected and their upset is falling on deaf ears. Seems that the only way that you can ask a question, or question Knight, the admins or how things are being run is by coating it totally in sugar and apologizing the whole while:
"Gee, I don't mean to make waves, and I am not trying to start trouble, so please no one be offended, but, it is starting to bother me that.......but, I guess that I will still be patient and Gee, I love what you two are doing!! Thank you for reminding me that ..... is coming soon. I will just wait it out!." and etc.
Shame on them all. Shame on the so called FANS who are squashing the concerns that still are coming up about the lack of info on the site, etc. I hope that the admins get extra egyptian jewelry.

If we find out it IS him, I'm not buying a damn thing...also, my 2 cents re: no tour books yet - sometimes, they come out later because they want to include live shots from the first few shows, so you can see the stage and lights with a real arena crowd. I found this legal information about the law as it applies to saying something is copyrighted if it is not.
(c) Fraudulent Copyright Notice.-Any person who, with fraudulent intent, places on any article a notice of copyright or words of the same purport that such person knows to be false, or who, with fraudulent intent, publicly distributes or imports for public distribution any article bearing such notice or words that such person knows to be false, shall be fined not more than $2,500.

I think this refers to placing a copyright on something that isn't yours to copyright. I think you can place the copyright logo and notice on anything you author even if you haven't applied for the copyright yet. The only way he could enforce it would be to follow up and apply for one on all his mail, and then have it granted.
I forget what the costs are for this, but I seriously doubt he intends to follow through. As usual, he's trying to intimidate people who criticize him by showing him up through his own words. What else is new?

Hey Everyone!
I haven’t read all of the posts in this thread, but I wanted to add to the topic. I never joined the fan club, but some of my friends did. Not one of them benefited from the experience. I’ve read some posts regarding a few people that were lucky enough to score great seats, even one person who got front row. Nothing wrong with that, however, it seems that overall, the fan club thing was a bust. Just 2 days prior to the Pittsburgh show, my friend got on the ticket master website. Great seats were coming up. He tried a few times and eventually, he scored 4 front row seats. And it was just 2 days ago that I was ticket master and 4th row seats in the center were coming up for the Atlantic City show. The only show I’ve gone to so far has been the DC show. I had 8th row center seats. But it cost me $300 for one ticket. I guess we all get caught up in the moment and we get afraid that tickets won’t be available to us if we wait. But I should have known better. Two years ago when Madonna was on tour, they were claiming that the shows were sold out within the first day of tickets going on sale. I never got a ticket. But guess what, just days before the show, ticket master released more tickets. It appears they purposely hold the good seats so that they can try and fill up the nosebleed sections. The seats I got for Madonna were just a few rows above the floor, 1st lower level, which happened to be eye level with the stage. Next best thing to being on the floor in my opinion. In any event, I guess what I’m trying to say is, I think it’s best to hold off if you don’t want to pay these ridiculous scalper and fan club prices. Best of luck to everyone.

He has avoided that question like a bullet, even with MSNBC. He tried to spin it that there were "thousands" of members happy with their seats, but, that is not true. No Way. This site has a membership of around 1500. Do you really think that he exceeded this sites membership by triple or something?
He just doesn't answer what seems to be something that he cannot or will not deliver.

I don't know how this would apply to email but I know you can get a poorman's copyright on a book if you write one because I did. You have someone print the book for you and send it to you and you don't open it. Then you can say it's copyrighted. I don't think an email could be copyrighted. The content on a website can be but I can't see that an email could:p JT is an idiot:p

"The Official Fleetwood Mac Fan Club is now open! Here are some of the exclusive MEMBER BENEFITS:
-- ADVANCE TICKETS FOR MEMBERS ONLY!
Before tickets go on sale to the public, Fan Club members can buy through Ticketmaster directly online. We have reserved tens of thousands of tickets for Members generally in the best 20% of the floor for most concerts.
-- FOLLOW THE BAND ON TOUR WITH AUDIO/VIDEO ON YOUR COMPUTER!
You get password protected access to the Fleetwood Mac Official Fan Site! Join right now and take the entire video tour of the Studio where the new album "Say You Will" was made (both high and slow speed connections supported!). As the tour gets underway, we'll attempt to provide a backstage set of short audio/video and photographic documentation to keep you "On-The-Road-With-Fleetwood Mac." In addition to the tour video, we'll be seasoning the site with video from hotels and on the airplanes. THIS SHOULD BE THE MOST CONNECTED TOUR EVER FOR THE FAN CLUB MEMBERS.
-- INSIDER NEWS!
Get the latest on everything Fleetwood Mac right from the source!
-- ASK YOUR QUESTIONS!
Submit questions to the band members and view selected questions and their answers. "
*******************************************
There certainly have been changes since this email was sent. Initially we were told the "superfans" would get the best seats, as "the band" wanted their fans sitting up close to the stage so they could "hear them." Now the club is saying they can't even guarantee that you'll GET a seat for the show through the fan club, let alone a word about the "best 20% of the floor" in most venues. Well, if not for the special fan club seats, why else would someone join the fan club?
Perhaps for the audio and video? Well, if you've been following posts from fan club members, that's not happening. The audio portion of the site STILL says, "COMING SOON," the same message it's had since it went up. No video clips from the tour. Lots of fans still not "feeling connected."
The insider news? Um, Mick bought a hairbrush. Now there's some insider news for you! Shhhh, don't TELL ANYONE you heard about THAT! Ah, and as Livia mentioned, you can find out who won the fabulous 20 lithograph posters. (Talk about being used to advertise!) And they weren't even charged for postage. LOL!
The Q&A? Nothing new there either. I guess they didn't "select" any questions for Lindsey.
But back to the business of “copywrites.” Jonathan Todd’s team has demonstrated their respect for both copywrites and the fan community. In case anyone has forgotten, you can review this thread:

Hello all,
I have just joined this forum after getting recommendations from Pip .
I used to post on the above forum(i know that is a sin !!!!)
I didnt post very much over there, but i kept raising the issue of the world tour.
My first posts were answered and basically i was told to be patient.
Then my mext posted was deleted.
I again posted this following post
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi all,
Having posted a message here a couple of days ago regarding the world tour,i have now found no details of it on this forum.
The problem may have been down to be, or my message was deleted.
I have found this article on the Firefliesuk website about the cancelation on the 2003 UK Fleetwood MAc Convention.
I have edited it slighty
It is with deepest regret that we have to announce the cancellation of the Fleetwood Mac fan Convention.
Firstly, the lack of support from the bands’ management has made it impossible for us to secure merchandise or promotion. This is due to the fact that there are no plans at the moment to tour the UK, and so there is no commercial value for the band to warrant spending money on promotion. We do appreciate that at the moment the focus of management is the promotion of ‘Say You Will’ in the US and forthcoming North American tour.
We are really sorry to have to cancel this event, it was something that we were looking forward to putting on for UK fans as we do feel that fans here get a rough deal when it comes to Fleetwood Mac. They have not toured here since 1990 and it is looking doubtful that we will see them on this upcoming tour – although we remain ever hopeful and ever loyal.
It greatly worries me that the management of Fleetwood Mac have said that there are no current plans to tour the UK.
This tour started off as a World Tour
I appreciate that the Band are now touring the US, but i do believe that the loyal fans outside the United States who have not seen the MAc since the 1990 tour deserve Better than this.
The vast majority of the UK Press have given the new cd a good writeup, but the CD has only done ok in record sales, mainly due to the lack of promotion.
Surely it is time for the Knight or the Bands Management or the Band members to issue a statement on this whole World Tour Issue.
I am sick and tired of hearing of being told to wait for an announcement.
I get the feeling that this will not be a world tour(hopefully i will be proved wrong)
I would appreciate comments
Julian
Again this message was deleted and i got the following message from one of the admins
Your Continued Repeated Post on: Today at 12:00am
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You seem to be intent on posting the same post regarding the UK Convention email and the World Tour schedule. While your comments on the post today were ever so slightly less demanding than the last one this post has been deleted also. In the first place, a copy and paste of this email is not going to remain on this board because it contains information that is not true. Your editing of the email only makes it worse, it makes it seem that the reason the Convention has been cancelled is because the band will not be touring the UK. It mentions nothing about the fact that there was not enough interest generated in the UK to make the Convention feasable, which is also included in the original email. There is no reason to believe that this will not be a World Tour, I'm not sure where the individuals in charge of the Convention got this information from but it is incorrect as far as we know. We do not have any information regarding the subsequent dates/cities for the tour yet, and we have responded as such on the board to your previous questions. We have told you what we know at this point. There are many people in America who would like to see the band come to their hometowns also and have posted questions regarding this however, when we reply with an answer they do not turn around and demand a better one. You seem unsatisfied with the replies that we have given you, stating "I am sick and tired of hearing of being told to wait for an announcement" and "To the administrators, please dont come out with what you have told me before". Making demands will not get you a reply any quicker either. Statements such as "This tour was originally announced as a world tour. I would like to see details of this. I am disgusted with what has happened so far", and "If you cant get the answers, isnt it about time that someone from the bands management or the promoters come on line and post a statement" will not force anyone to come on this board and reply to your questions just because you demand that they do so. When the promoters announce the dates we will post them at that time. That's the answer to your question at this particular time. Please do not post the email again............Jackie
As you can see i was not rude, but just want some plain answers to some simple questions.
As you can see the response from Jackie was basically that the people that run Firefliesuk, are liars !!!
From what i can see, Mick Fleetwood Forum is a complete joke, they do not seem to care about the fans(especially from around the world)
They do not answer any questions, instead they seem to blame you for asking any so called negative questions.
I never joined there fan club because it was a complete rip off for UK Fans.
I really do hope that i am wrong about this not being a WORLD TOUR, but somehow i dont think i am.
Sorry if this is a long post, but i needed to get this of my chest !!

Sorry to hear how you were dissed by the "official site" team. I can't say I'm surprised. Censorship is the name of the game over there. If you say anything they (admins) don't like...no matter what it is...you'll get deleted. They keep repeating their mantra: posts are only deleted and people are only banned when they say something that violates the rules of the board. That's code for: we delete whatever the heck we want and don't ask us to explain anything to you. We don't have to. This board is not here for you. It is here to promote commercial money making ventures of the fan club.
The only true question that remains is: who's profiting from these ventures and does anyone in the band care how fans are being treated in the quest for the almighty dollar?

OK, I can't take this anymore. This last statement made an alarm bell go off in my head. I'm tired of sitting on my a@@ and just reading about this and feeling sympathetic, but not doing anything. Being that I am not a card-carrying (or receipt carrying, as it were) member of the fan cub and was not ripped off and wasn't banned because I didn't post on Micks chat, I'm not in a position to really do anything. But reading all these things on the ledge and what I have observed from lurking over there have made me really bitter, and as a true fan, insulted . I hate seeing my fellow fans and friends treated like this.
I want to believe the band is oblivious and that's why JT is not in jail. But at the same time I want them to find out and fire his a@@.
So my question is, What the heck can I do?
The only thing I've done so far is give my brother my extra ticket to the concert for free on the condition that he wears a homemade t-shirt that says SAY YOU WILL FIRE JOHNATHAN TODD on the back and front, and I'll probably make a sign that says that too.
But seriously, what can I as an upset-but-not-really-ripped-off fan do? Any suggestions?

Sonia, thank you for caring. A lot of people who weren't in the fan club are supportive like you. You fans are da bomb! I know a lot of people made calls and wrote letters asking band members and their management to address the fan club mess. To my knowledge, nobody has received a reply or response. I know band members are insulated by their people right now. They have little time for anything outside of the tour/rehearsals, etc. That doesn't mean people surrounding them can't look into things and at least acknowledge there's a problem if they've been notified. Everybody wants to ignore the issue in hopes that it goes away.
The only official response I know of was from the California Attorney General. Complaints filed with the CAG Internet site were noted. They even sent out a letter to everyone who contacted them saying they appreciate hearing from the public about any business run it the state of CA. They said they will investigate any accusations of fraud or misleading advertising if enough complaints are filed against a particular business. You don't have to be the one ripped off to complain. You just have to go to their website and file a complaint saying you believe a business is engaged in making false or misleading claims and you want them to investigate. The information you need to give them on the complaint form was posted by someone in another thread. I'll try to find it and put it here so you can go to the website and fill in the form. That would be a great show of support for the cause. The CAG sent out letters saying they started a file on the business that runs the fan club. According to the letter, the more complaints that are filed, the more emphasis and resources will be placed on investigating the fan club. You could also write band management. As I said, nobody else who's written them has gotten a respose, but at least they can't say they never heard anything about the situation.
Thanks again for your support. Hey, I love the T-shirt and sign idea. If I decide to break down and go to a show, despite my disappointment with the band over this fan club and merchandising mess, can I borrow your logo for a shirt of my own?
I found the old thread with info about making a complaint to the CAG, but the link doesn't work. Here is one that does. You can use the information in the other thread to fill in the complaint form you'll find here:
http://www.caag.state.ca.us/consumers/mailform.htm
This is the information you need to fill in the form:

That is too true. If I were a big person, I would hope that my management worked FOR ME. And, I would hope that they would run my official endeavors JUST LIKE I WOULD. And, if they did not, I would FIRE them. End of story.
Now that I know for sure that Jonathan Todd is behind the tour merchandise, I am losing more and more respect for the bands management and it will translate to the band because, they have known for some time what is going down with the fan club and to allow him to continue to screw the fans and mess with us is immoral to say the least.

The latest fan club email's selling tactic for the members only t-shirts is that you can spot other fan club members at the shows if they are wearing an official fan club t-shirt.
Gosh, I've NO problem meeting up with anyone I've wanted to meet at the shows via emails, phone calls, and planning. And who says fan club members can't buy as many friggin' t-shirts as they want to give to non-fan club members??
The members only section has been slightly re-done. Of course, the FIRST thing they've added is the merch link. Everything else still says "coming soon." However, some video footage is supposed to be up before tomorrow.

There's some "video footage" up now, if you can call it that. Some short (10 seconds or less), choppy, out-of-focus clips, mostly of Mick and John, on the airplane and milling around backstage for the Today Show and Leno. How long ago were those shows? The Today Show site had full-length clips of all four songs they did on that show within hours of the broadcast. For free!
Oh, and there are are also five pics from the Columbus show. Really lame pics. Worse than just about anything I've seen posted, for free!, on fan boards.
I'm hoping they just loaded some poor 8th grader's visual arts project up on the fan club by mistake. What happened to the real stuff?

Mr. Todd has come up with a brilliant idea on how we can locate fellow fans/club members!!!! (since he banned so many of them from the Mick board)
Just BUY one of the official FAN CLUB MEMBERS ONLY shirts!

Do I understand this correctly?
We should buy the T-shirt to recognize other fans?
It's the long-awaited meet-and-greet.
We get to pay extra to meet and greet...each other!!!
What a service to us!
How much is the T-shirt? It should say on the front "What's My Money Going To? Tour 2003" and then on the back "All Alone, we Suffer, Please don't Steal our Dough Away".
I think we should have to pay extra extra extra to wear the black shirt WITH Egyptian jewelry. After all, this is a luxury that the fan club will offer only to the true fan. If only I hadn't sunk my last few confederate dollars into the Brooklyn Bridge last week!

I'm telling you, the homemade "FIRE JONATHAN TODD" shirts are the way to go ;) I noticed a lot of people reading mine in Cleveland. Someone here even noticed it and posted something here about it the next day!
It's so comforting to know that your LOUSY SEATS for a show (aka fanclub seats) don't diminish your concert experience one bit!
(Seated halfway back in the arena, you can actually feel the positive magnetism between Mick and Lindsey during Mick's drum solo)
Is this where Jonathan was sitting, or were these the reports from the SUPERFANS who joined the fanclub to get the up front seats and somehow didn't know how to WORK THE SYSTEM and ended up at the other end of the arena? I'm sure all of the fanclub members who were worried about their upcoming shows are comforted knowing they won't miss anything sitting at the other end of the arena. Thanks again, Jonathan!

I am also an Eagles fan. I'll be seeing them in July. With regards to Mr. Todd and the Eagles promotion "racket" . . . I'd say "birds of a feather." The Dixie Chicks fans aren't exactly loving how their promoters have treated them. Hopefully the fans are getting the word out on these trendy new scheming practices.

I mean no disrespect for band when I say that.......JT's whom will not profit another dime from me. Plus I'm really a little embarrassed to let strangers know that I was a sucker. You know OK, I was just thinking about what you said in conjunction with the latest fan club email I got. Mr. Todd alledged "entered" all us fan club members in a contest to win an autographed "something or other" (geeze, and here I was hoping to win some of that fabulous JUNK Egyptian jewelry) . . . and then he POSTED the winners "real name" and state in his "copywritten" email. Hey, if you were embarassed to be seen in a "fan club shirt", imagine how you'll feel if this SCHMOO posts your name publicly without your permission. Too bad he can't be more PUBLIC about the questions we have always wanted answered. Just another example of what a loser Todd is. I know I NEVER agreed to be entered in the contest and certainly would NEVER allow that weasel to post MY name "as if" I was endorsing ANY of his club capers. Instead, he totally resists our desires to succeed from "the union."
First a contest to say "how HAPPY" you are with the fan club, and now he wants to PUBLICLY show who is in the fan club. Hey TODD, why not tell us how many of us "losers" are really IN it?

This was posted by Mr. Todd on Mick's board today. Mind you, we have ALL told him the first presale TIME was incorrect and he ignored us. We ALL told him the password system was failed, because he was using our "user name" rather than our "password" that WE picked and could control to get into the ticket system. We ALL told him the ticket selection we were getting SUCKED, and we were getting lousy seats. He told us WE were ALL wrong, that WE are just "unhappy people" and lousy fans. Why did he IGNORE all the emails and phone calls?
He posted this today:
"We're REALLY working this problem, everyone. I wanted to reply to Michelle's statement, above. In the Club presales ALL our block of 600+ tickets (in some states like NY way more than 600 so we can serve the membership) are instantly available at the moment Ticketmaster opens. The reason some members don't see great seats "right at the bell" is that if you have 400 members all come on at 9:00 am and grab 4 seats each that's a hold for a couple of minutes on 1600 seats - ALL of our 600 seats plus selected other seats throughout the venue. As these people wait too long, buy two and let two they were holding go, you start to see the floor Club seats back in the inventory.
In PUBLIC sales Ticketmaster may release great seats later in the game, but that's usually because holds from management for the press or others are released as they realize they don't need all they have on hold. Believe me - We're watching like hawks and making sure our Club members have access to the WHOLE block we've reserved. A short term problem is that the person getting all these front row seats IS a Club member and is entitled to buy them - IF HE/SHE PLAYS FAIR. We've ruled "luck" out. Now it is a matter of stopping the gap he/she has found. As I said in my earlier post in this thread - we're researching how this is happening.
I am hopping mad over this! One way or another I promise you all that we'll stop this before the next presale (hint - we think there is at least one more city on the way for the US but don't have total confirmation - stay tuned!) If I don't have a fix by then, I'll have all the first, second, third, fourth and fifth row seats pulled and we'll have Club members who want them send an email for a lottery just before the presale. Winners will be legit and everyone else gets 6th through 30th on the floor or whatever else is allocated along with that for the Club. We can control the entire system that way and keep the random luck to honest members. Seems a shame that we may have to do it this way - its a messload of work for our staff - but we will have FAIR presales for our members!
The Knight!"
WHAT is this man's problem? Tom Petty's management runs their fan club (the same people that manage Lindsey) and they NEVER had the problems that the "official Fleetwood Mac" fan club has had . . . for FAR less money. And now HE'S "hopping mad?" At the END of the first leg of a major tour he's just getting a CLUE as to how screwed up this is? He has NEVER listened. He's blocked and banned and offended the people that PAID him. Imagine going to a store and complaining about the service and being "banned" from ever coming into the store again. No refund . . . in fact he FOUGHT any refunds. We have fan club members that NEVER got any tickets, we have fan club memers got tickets way in the back of the venue. He NEVER did anything to make up for the first pre-sale, and continues to say there was no system failure, only minor glitches that they fixed. "Your tickets are SAFE."
How long, how long will he be representing Fleetwood Mac? WHY didn't they ever tell us where the fan ticket seats were? Why couldn't they just be up front about everything? Why didn't they just sell the tickets from the Official Fleetwood Mac site if they had the power to do that?

Okay, this is being drug out and I have been patient and my patience is almost gone.
There was a group of ppl who contacted me regarding a class action law suit and I need to hear from you again please, or any other group that is working on that. I have my source, so I think that we have been patient long enough. The whole tour and information about that tour is almost over and we have gotten much less for our money than the free fan clubs get.

Don't agree there at all. I have been quiet for a reason. That reason is about to end, so this is going into the next stage. Many have and will move on, but, this man has divided our community, ruined many of our tour experiences, has robbed us, lied to us, cheated us and so it is not over for a whole, great big lot of us. Not by a long shot.

And, I agree with that proverb totally, but, this is not about me.
This is about all the others out there who are fans and are being deceived everyday, this is about his intentions of hooking up with other bands, as he said in a recent article, touting his "success" with the FM Fan Club, and starting their fan clubs and doing this to other ppl. It may not be like taking your grand mothers money to roof her house and doing a sloppy job, but, it is the same principle. People are still joining the club, unsuspecting, some first time fans made during this tour, etc. He is laughing at us all. He is running the show, running the management, running the band and thumbing his nose at us. That does not sit well with me personally. That part is about me.

YOu have no idea what you are talking about. So, I will let you slide. This is not about peace. This is about injustice. Total and complete injustice. You can turn a blind eye, and twiddle your thumbs over this if it makes you happy and I will not berate you for it, you do the same for me. I do care what has happened and is still happening. That does not change what my screen name is.

You can read all about the things that have happened if you read any of the fan club threads on this board including the sticky at the very top of this page. We are not the only people reading this board if you catch my drift and some people don't want to jeopordize their positions by saying too much. In fact, in some situations, they CAN'T say anything. Read between the lines.

Exactly! All good things come to those who wait. Just be patient and you'll find out all you need to know. I'm sure the great people who are putting so much work into this DO NOT want to jeopardize everything by advertising what is going on all across the internet.

Yeah, thanks... I read it all when it was first posted... I don't need to be patronized. Besides, there is nothing concrete to read between the lines. The point is, you're not doing yourselves, and the cause you're fighting for, any favours whatsoever by continuing to hint that something is going to happen soon, and then not having anything come of it. People will lose interest, and no one wants that to happen... I want to see Jonathan Todd land on his ass as much as most people round here, but you need to throw the casual observer a bone now and again in order to keep people supporting you. Otherwise the general consensus will move towards an opinion similar to that of Carne's.

My intent was not to patronize you. If it's swift resolution you want, don't look at me. I don't get to make those decisions. Your concerns would be well placed with the people that do make those decisions.
By the way, who are you to speak for the general consensus of this board?

I truly understand what you are saying and it is not like that. I have known a lot of ppl in the community that hint to things and won't tell the rest, I have been guilty of that myself, but, this is not one of those things. This is legal and until we know which direction we are headed for sure, we can't show our hand and I made some promises to some important ppl.
The only reason that I mention it at all is for fear that all of you fans who have been loyal and supportative of this effort will not think it is in vain, that it is over and the quietness means we are not doing anything and then you get discouraged and here we go. There is a fine line that we are walking right now, but, it is also known to the same ppl who I have made promises that these promises are only good until we have exhausted what it is that we are trying to do now. Please be patient and please do give up or forget what happened and what actually is STILL happening. I am fighting for us all, not me.

Ok, how about this..???? The fight is not stopped in any regard, just gone to another level. We were fighting on the street level at one point and now it is on more of a corporate one. I CAN"T divulge some things, I am so sorry. I want to, trust me. And, this board is read by JT and his ppl. I am sorry that you feel patronized, that is not what is happening at all. All that I ever have intended to do for you is to try to let you know to not give up, to keep the faith. All we need now is for us to start at each other, and wouldn't that just please the punch out of JT. Let's not, and try to understand. If you want to PM I am fine with that, but, even then, I am limited. Not always, but, I am for now. I have worked my literal ass off on this for months. Not just posting dissent and upset and lashing and ranting here, but, things that have taken most of my waking hours at times. Give us doing that some credit. It will all come to light, but, I had hoped before now. We may go to a different tactic soon and that will be wide open. Are you with me?

Hidey Ho seeknpeace. I dont get a chance to post much, but I do want to take this time, and say "Thank You For Your Efforts." I do take time to check out a few boards daily. More of a quick sweep of the boards, and yes I do have one named Mick's Trashcan in my favorites. JT blows, and has to be the dumbest business man Ive ever seen! The mistake he made was thinking the fans were just a bunch of stupid kids, and snakes like him are too busy being greedy to cover their tracks. They also do their dirty deeds in patterns if you watch close. My profile of this creep is going pretty well on track. Im with you on this one, and very patient......... Upon taking my exit here, I want to say " JT's breath smells like dead people." LOL..........Mark

Thank you so much more than you will ever know. It gets hard sometimes not being able to share something that may be exciting news or to share with you guys when something you hoped for was dashed, cause I know that you care and would support us in it. Hello there!! I have not weighed in on the subject because I do not have all the information I really need however I do have to say the following:
As a newer "poster" to the board I have to say "Thank You" to everyone who is trying to do something about the FM Fan Club. When I first started browsing the Net for more info on FM I of course considered joining the fan club. The price was ultimately the reason I did not join. However, I must say I was tempted by the "pre-sale seats" and the "behind the scenes info and pictures". I also found this website. I must say I consider this site to be the "official FM website". (I am probably getting myself into huge trouble saying that!) As a FM fan, I want a place where I can find info on my favorite band as well as a place where I can chat and meet up with other FM fans. I get all of that and more here!!!
For those of you who do not agree with continuing the fight, please remember that there are new people everyday who want to find out more about FM and FM fans. Like me, they may be tempted to join the fan club not knowing all of the problems that have occurred. By continuing the fight, you are helping all the current fans as well as future ones.
Also, I want to believe the band is aware of what is going on. Perhaps once the tour is over something will be done!! That may be too late but lets hope!!:)
