Listen, I don't mean to hog this board this week, but what can I say, you guys have inspired me with ideas.
The Tusk post and the post that mentions the spin on My Little Demon make me wonder, what are the most sexually suggestive FM song lyrics?
- Make me a woman tonight (Warm Ways)
- Won't you lay me down in the tall grass and let me do my stuff (2ndhand News)
- The loneliness of a one-night-stand is hard to take (After the Glitter Fades --- I know SN claims this is not a sexual reference, but I think that's for her parents' benefit --- Gotta love the old virgin ;) )
- I know a guy, his name is Mick, he don't care if he ain't got no chick, he does the shake, the rattlesnake shake (Rattlesnake Shake)
Eww eww eww, I sure hope that "like a great dark wing w/in the wings of a storm" lyric is NOT a sexual reference about Mick's & Stevie's respective body parts!
I hate when my own posts make me ill.

Well I think Lindseys " think of me sweet darling everytime you don't come" should be first on the list. I still hate that song.

I've got an old one done back in the late 70's when Stevie was at the top of her game in the looks department that can't be beat. The song is called Tunnell of Love off of Walter Egan's album, Fundamental Roll. Stevie and Lindsey helped out by singing and playing on it. Get it if you can find it. Stevie is all over singing lead and backup. Anyway, on the song Tunnell of Love, some of the lyrics go like this....
"You are such a comfort, you are such a thrill. I'm like a volcano, ready to erupt...when you treat me to your sweet, sweet stuff." (Walter sings this all the while Stevie is fading in and out doing her trademark moaning, oohing and aahing. Lindsey meanwhile is doing some outstanding guitar work....not the normal, head on lead guitar, but making it sound sexy as hell. If someone else has heard it, help me out here. I'm not a muscian, so I don't know how to describe it.) To continue....
"When you hold me close, when you say you will....I'm anticipating, watching time go by.... You're so stimulating between your sweet, sweet thighs!"
Then the chorus goes like this----"Tunnell of Love, Tunnell of Love, ooh baby take me for a ride. Tunnell of Love, Tunnell of Love, ooh moma, take me inside!" You gotta love Stevie!!!! Bill

I have always thought the line "I wake up alone with it all / I wake up but only to fall" from "Big Love" (the title of which could be analyzed in this thread I'm sure) is about waking up "prepared," if you know what I mean, but not having anyone in the bed to, uh, you know. Basically, wasted wood. ;)

Never heard this before. It's nice that there's a musical partner for Tusk.
I'd remembered the "Come" lyric after I'd logged off.
I don't have Fundamental Roll, though I love Stevie on Warren Zevon & Walter Egan albums. Is it worth buying?

Of course, I was around 15 when 'Tango' was released, so just about everything sounded sexual at that age!
As for other lines, how about... "I tried to tell him that his heart is in his hands," from "Violet And Blue."
Though the lyrics in the 'Enchanted' boxed-set have this line as "her heart is in his hands." To me, it sounds like "his," which inadvertantly conjurs a more sexual image.

The moans and screams Lindsey does on the live Version of Not That Funny
ON Walter Egan's Fundamental Roll, Stevie can be heard moaning and wailing on Tunnel Of Love and the lyrics that Walter sings leave nothing to the imagination.

If we are also listing the ones that COULD be read as sexual, there are plenty:
This wasn't written by FM, it's fair game since they do it live. Think of the land theme as a "Sister Honey".
- Farmer's Daughter: "Glad to help you plow your fields"
"Clean up, rest, and be on my way, Thank you, madame, I am much obliged;)"
"So long, got to leave your land, many thanks, it was mighty grand":wavey:
These were written by Stevie:
- Listen to the Rain: "And you're persistent, well I am overcome."
:)
"You're not like anyone else, you're just an instant flash of light"
:(
- If I were You: "Well, I believe that love is a living thing"
- Ooh my Love: "Yes, it was a strain on her"
- Jane: "Up against the wall, Jane"
- Affairs of the Heart: "One set of doors was pink and grey" :p

Think of "My Little Demon" as a pet name for Lindsey's, well, you know.... and how as you get older... it gets a little more difficult... but at the end there's hope, as he leaves it to an expert to take care of ;)
My little demon's comin' on down
My little demon's turnin' me around
All of my friends all telling me
That I just ain't the man I used to be
I really don't like it
Ain't nothing I can do
I really don't like it
I'm leaving it to you
My little demon's makin' me choose
Makin' me an offer I can't refuse
Hard as a rock, dry as a bone
Big dog, little dog, yeah, I will take you home
....
Why try to hide it?
Fight it, fight it!
....
My little demon, it's all that I can do
Just to keep that little demon away from you!

Here is one of Stevie's from TISL called "Love Is". Not really sexual more like sensual.

Ah yes. I remember that there was an article in Circus magazine with Walter Egan back in 1978. I think it was his engineer or producer or something and he was telling a story about Stevie's vocals on that song.
He said that Stevie didn't want Lindsey around when she did the vocal on that song. She kicked him out at around like 1 OR 2 in the morning (if I remember correctly). She also dimmed the lights in the studio while she did her suggestive vocals.
I wish I could find the article but it was something like what I wrote.
I think this might have been around the time she was dating Walter Egan.

Yep, here it is right from his Q and A on the Penguin:
You may or may not know that for a short time at the end of 1976 Stevie and I were, how you say....together, and the story of "Magnet & Steel" is somewhat contained therein. On the night that Stevie recorded the background vocals, or should I say wailing, for my song, "Tunnel of Love", I was moved. As I drove home in the dawning new day, I noticed a late model Lincoln Continental painted metallic purple with a diamond in the back window...you get the picture...classic pimp mobile. I glanced at the license plate and there were the words "Not Shy". For whatever reason this seemed like a sign, and when I got home I wrote "Magnet & Steel". So it was kinda life imitating art imitating life...writing a song about Stevie and then having her sing on it, and then of course it becoming the major cultural even that it has over the years.
Here is another one:
How did you're relationship begin with Stevie and how did Lindsey feel about that. Is Stevie really as mystical as she seems? What is the fondest memory you have of Stevie? Did Stevie know that "Magnet and Steel" was written about her? And do you think Stevie and Lindsey will ever get back together?
I was attracted to Stevie and I made the move. It went as far as it went, and I don't know how Lindsey feels about that. This was 23 years ago.
I'm not sure if Stevie is as "mystical" as she seems, but she certainly is mystifying. My fondest memory of her? Gosh, there are just so many, really. I guess I'd have to say just being able to hang around with her in the early days playing music and laughing and laughing and laughing and laughing and...
Yeah, Stevie knew that the song was about her, but she might have forgotten by now.
one more:
I have read many times that Stevie has a really good sense of humor. I was wondering if this was true and what made her so funny. Do you have a favorite Stevie song? How long did you two date? Who broke it off and was Stevie touched by the fact you wrote Magnet and Steel about her and do you remember her reaction when she found out it was about her. And finally what was the funniest or most special moment you had with Stevie? Thanks for putting up with my personal questions.
Dear Melissa,
I guess Stevie did have a good sense of humor in a general way, but in my dealing with her it was her sense of humanity more than humor that struck me. I'm not sure what made her so funny. My favorite song of hers of all time is "Silver Spring", the original version. In fact, when that came out as the flip side of "Go Your Own Way" on the 12" disc I made a tape with nothing but "Silver Spring" on it, so I could just listen to that.
I'm not sure if you could actually say Stevie and I "dated". We were close for about 3 weeks and I always felt like it was of her just allowing me to be with her than a date. I guess you'd have to say Stevie broke it off and she seemed very pleased when I told her that "M&S" was about her.
The most special moment I had with Stevie, I guess was doing the video for "Blonde in the new T-Bird".

Some other info about the song---Tunnel of Love....
I read that Walter was so moved by Stevie's moaning on his song that he drove home and wrote "Magnet and Steel" about him and Stevie that night. They later had a three month affair together. The album, Fundamental Roll is packed with good songs and Stevie can easily be heard on six of them. It is by far in my opinion the best album that she guest appears on. If you can get it, by all means do so. "Tunnel of Love" won't disappoint! ;) Bill

I have always been facinated with Walter Egan and Stevie.
That pic of Lindsey standing to the side ( looking very high) and just Walter and guilty tiny Stevie standing to the other side.
Lindsey had Carol Ann, so Stevie could do whatever she wanted...but I find it amusing that Lindsey was also playing on that album. I would love to know if he KNEW or if they kept it quiet. Stevie said she always kept her affairs away from Lindsey.
Tunnel of Love is awesome...everytime I mention it , no one seems to like it!

I've always found GDW to be incredibly sexual, especially...
Wake up in the morning
See your sunrise--loves--to go down
Lousy lovers--pick their prey
But they never cry out loud
The whole song is just sex, drugs, and rock and roll to me.
It is rather sad that my first post is about dirty song lyrics...Sigh.
