'Crystal Visions' was a terrific compilation of Stevie's demos, outtakes, and live recordings, put together by George & Travis, based on the votes and suggestions of other posters on the Stevie Forum on the original Ledge.
(George is more of a lurker these days, but Travis still posts occasionally.)
The guys also sprinkled some rare interview clips between many of the songs, and did an excellent job sequencing the whole thing.
I still often pull that tape out to listen to. :D

I can't believe the Crystal Visions tape has been brought up and I came across this post. I'm glad that folks still enjoy it. I always took pride in sequencing mix tapes. Speaking of sequencing, who is the person that came up with this running order of Say You Will?
WHAT'S THE WORLD COMING TO (Lindsey)
SAY YOU WILL (Stevie)
BLEED TO LOVE HER (Lindsey)
THROWN DOWN (Stevie)
MIRANDA (Lindsey power song)
EVERYBODY FINDS OUT (Stevie power song)
RED ROVER (Lindsey)
SMILE AT YOU (Stevie)
MURROW (Lindsey)
ILLUME (Stevie)
PEACEKEEPER (Lindsey)
DESTINY RULES (Stevie)
COME (Lindsey through and through)
RUNNING THROUGH THE GARDEN (Stevie through & through)
STEAL YOUR HEART AWAY (Lindsey)
NOT MAKE BELIEVE (Stevie)
SAY GOODBYE (Lindsey)
GOODBYE BABY (Stevie)
I was one of the ones that had a major problem with the running order of Say You Will. It does not flow well in my opinion. And I've been meaning to re-sequence it myself, but never got around to it. But then a friend forwarded me this order and I have to say, I love it. It works so much better. However, I left in
Silver Girl where Not Make Believe is suggested. I'm surprised SG is not as well liked, I love it.

I was just listening to my copy of "Crystal Visions" right before SYW came out.
And ITA about the sequencing of SYW, it's terrible! I don't like how those 3 Stevie songs are all lumped together. Not sure how I'd do it myself yet, but I like the one your friend did, Travis!

I love my tape. My claim to fame is that after tons of title suggestions were made, my suggestion, Crystal Visions, was chosen. I felt very honored. Travis and George did an awesome job and I still listen to my copy. I love the Rhiannon demo on the tape and Stevie's Crying in the Night interview.
Off topic, but I have not joined in many of the SYW posts just because I have felt disgusted at how rude some people are over these songs. IMO, the sequencing is not it's best, some songs are lacking here or there, but all in all the album is amazing. I think Stevie is very strong vocally and it is nice to see her do some fun, sexy songs like EFO. I love RTTG. I am also shocked at how many people seem to hate Silver Girl. I love the melody and the simpleness of it. The lyrics are fun and interesting. It is good for us AND Stevie to have a simple song that no one should try to disect or pick apart. I am thankful for Stevie and all her work, whether or not I like it...it is hers and I will have to accept the decisions she makes about the final product. My two cents...
Travis: I miss talking to you...
