I know Im missing some info on Stevie's backup singers. Could someone fill me in on what I dont know? Im curious how they met Stevie, what tour did they back her on (any Mac too), what was the reason they dont work together anymore, etc.
I know that Stevie met Lori Perry when she was married to Gordon. She along with Sharon Celani backed her up on Bella Donna. Stevie met Sharon while vacationing in Hawaii in (1977??) the late 70's and joined Sharon onstage during Sharon's band performance, has toured with Stevie since BD and also the Mac in 97 & upcoming. I believe she met Mindy Stein at a common friend's party where a kind of "set up" was arranged for them to meet. I know Lori still tours with Stevie in some capacity but no longer sings live (why?? Is it due to Jessie?).
I know Im missing some others... can you all fill me in?
What prompted this thread... I was listening to "Planets" that Id recorded, I think the last time it was played on TISL tour ~ she was soooooooooooo sick, Stevie's voice was almost giving. But Sharon and Mindy backed her to the nines and she was able to pull through.

E. Wright and Lynn Mabry were two girls that toured with Stevie. I think one was on the RAL tour and the other The Other Side Of The Mirror. Liza Jane Edwards did the Street Angel tour as did Sara Fleetwood.
I think back in the Wild Heart days there were TV appearences that featured Marilyn Martin but I don't know if she did an official tour with Stevie.

Yeah, it seems that Stevie met Lori and Sharon roughly around the same time period.
Lori thru her ex-husband, Gordon Perry, the producer... and Sharon while Stevie was vacationing in Hawaii.
Here's a rundown of Stevie's backing singers on her various tours:
'White Winged Dove Tour': Sharon & Lori
'Wild Heart Tour': Sharon & Lori (joined occasionally by Carolyn Brooks, and joined on TV appearances by Marilyn Martin)
'Rock A Little Tour': Sharon, Lori, & Elisecia Wright
'Shakin' The Cage Tour' (for 'Tango'): Sharon, Lori, & Elisecia
'The Other Side Of The Mirror Tour': Sharon & Lori
'Behind The Mask Tour': Sharon & Lynn Mabry
'Whole Lotta Trouble Tour' (for 'Timespace'): Sharon & Lynn
'Street Angel Tour': Sharon, Liza Jane Edwards, & Sara Fleetwood
'The Dance Tour': Sharon & Mindy Stein
'Enchanted Tour': Sharon & Mindy
'Trouble In Shangri-La Tour': Sharon & Mindy
'Say You Will Tour': Sharon & Mindy
Lori returned for a few one-off concerts in 1996, but she hasn't appeared on any of the tours since 1989.
My personal favorite combination of backing singers, is Sharon, Lori, and Marilyn Martin.

'Say You Will Tour': Sharon & Mindy Thanks for the rundown, Stew. I think I'd add Marilyn Martin as a part-time backup to the 1983 tour. She appeared onstage with the gang at the California shows; she'd do the Joe Walsh set & then do the Stevie set. There may have been other shows in various parts of the country featuring Marilyn. You'd have to dig out your November shows on tape & listen.
The other thing is about Lori. Stevie said years ago that Gordon worked for Fleetwood Mac in some capacity since before the days of Buckingham & Nicks. Depending on when he & Lori got married, Stevie might have first met her when Stevie joined the band.
