Hi Everyone: My first post here. Been lurking for awhile.
After three or four listens, the new album is really starting to grow on me. Like Lindsey's last solo disc, it's taken me some time to absorb and appreciate.
I've burned my own version of the album, complete with a new running order and taken out a few songs (and added a few others). PERSONALLY, I think this should have been the track list, and this is now an album my mom, my wife, and my mother-in-law can listen to. That being said, I am still glad Lindsey included his experimental stuff...
Here is my new album, complete with random comments on the tunes:
1) Say You Will: I like to open with the strongest "radio friendly" tune. Love the chorus of youngsters at the end.
2) Steal Your Heart Away: Could be my favorite Lindsey song
3) Peacekeeper: Good tune. I'm starting off with all the hits.
4) Illume (9-11): Excellent. Would like to see this in concert, complete with 9-11 images on big screen.
5) Thrown Down: Another good one. Classic Mac.
6) Running Through The Garden: Could be my current favorite. Like everything about it.
7) Bleed To Love Her: Nice improvement from live version.
8) Silver Girl: I think I like this one more than others seem to. Nice mid-tempo tune, ala Silver Springs.
9) Everybody Finds Out: Growing On Me, ala Big Love. Just need those sexual moans and we're complete.
10) Smile at You: Stevie: It's never a mistake to smile at someone ;)
11) Love Minus Zero / No Limits: From the bonus disc. This lindsey song is more listener friendly than others which I cut.
12) Destiny Rules: Growing on me. Like the "Chain"-ish guitars.
13) Miranda: More acoustic "Big Love" references. Nice song.
14) Not Make Believe: From the bonus disc. I really like this one. Cool lyrics, too. I bet Stevie was ticked they left this one off.
15) What's the World Coming To: Nice closer for Lindsey
16) Goodbye Baby: It's no Landslide, but I like it.
So I scrapped Murrow, Red Rover, Come, Say Goodbye (this one is most likely to re-appear on my favorite list..but right now I'm cutting it)
and added Love Minus Zero / No Limits and Not Make Believe.
