Hi folks,
Well it´s nice to finally see a setlist. It´s very long at 25 songs. Don´t get me wrong, I´m not complaining about the number of songs, it´s just that there are too many in there that I have heard too many times by now! It´s way too safe!!
These are: Dreams, Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman, Don´t Stop (couldn´t they have used another Christine beauty like Over & Over, I would love to hear their soaring harmonies on that one in particular!) Stand Back (puhlease not again, this is a solo song, we want to hear Mac songs being performed, why not Sara, Storms, Sisters Of The Moon, Angel or Fireflies instead??)
The god awful Mick solo returns yet again, now in the form of World Turning (please dump this or at least the solo!!) as an encore?? What a bummer! Why not Frozen Love as an encore?
Only the addition of Beautiful Child as the extra song from Tusk being performed is very welcome!! But where are the other aforementioned great songs from that album??!!
Where too is the also rehearsed Red Rover??
Where is Twisted and other great Buckingham Nicks songs?
I like the opener Eyes Of The World though, Silver Springs and the fact that they play new songs as well!
Here´s hoping they will change the list and dump the safe songs and the drum solo!
Greetz,
BuckMacNicks.

Standouts:
Eyes of the World
The Chain
Never Going Back Again
Gypsy
Come
Running Through the Garden
Say Goodbye
What's the World Coming To
Destiny Rules
Beautiful Child
Don't Stop
Goodbye Baby
Thanks Pip.
Wow, Come live - this will make a lot of people happy - including me!! This followed by RTTG will rock the casbah!
Say Goodbye, Goodbye Baby, Beautiful Child ... get out the tissue box!
Good to see at least one homage to Chris, yet at the same time have them moving away from that body of work which would surely fall flat without her.
WWCT will rock (so glad it's there instead of Monday Morning, which I don't like)... and EOTW - hopefully the Mirage Video non-eyes version!
WHAT HAPPANED TO RED ROVER??:distress:

I hope this list isn't final...
Most of it is how i expected but I certainly think they should get rid of Tusk - I know Lyndsey thinks this is the most original and creative thing ever done by anyone ever, but it aint that good.
Goodbye baby to close? I would want to leave the concert on a high, not wishing i hadn't gone in the first place.You cant replace Songbird with this. Songbird may be slow and tear-jerking but its a FM classic, unlike Goodbye baby (which in my opinion cant be considered a classic for at least, say, 6-8 years).
Also, there is no need to do Stand Back, there are plenty of others that could replace it, like SOTM
Other than that its damn good. Although I wish, oh how I wish that Everybody Finds Out was in there.
Not that I'm anybody to complain coz I'm from the UK and they aren't even coming here yet!:laugh:

COME!!!! Holy Freaking COW!!!
Holy Anne Heche Lafoon!!!
I am Jazzed about RTTG!!
What about RED ROVER?
I hope Red Rover gets added and Stand Back goes.
Over all I am very pleased, Destiny Rules, yay!!!
I never expected Come!
-Sharon
Beautiful Child made it, but I wish she would bring back SARA!!!
I also think SAY GOODBYE would be a better choice for the last song.

I read in some article that they were rehersing Red Rover live just a few days ago. It probably isn't quite ready yet, but I'd expect it on tour.

"Destiny Rules". YEA!!!
"Stand Back", sorry I can do without this song. We don't need to hear this solo song on a Fleetwood Mac tour. Please Stevie, bring back "Sisters of the Moon". It is so much more exciting then "Stand Back". This is just my opinion but she has so many great songs with the Mac that I would rather hear that this song.

I am happy with the set list but would have done EFO instead of Stand Back. I sort of look at it like this "Why ask for the moon when we have the stars" (Now Voyager). I cannot wait to see them on June 3!!!!!!!

Hey Strandie, you are right!
I'll jump, jive, & wail all the way through Stand Back if they do it!
But EFO would bring down the house!

I think she does "Stand Back" because she can do it on auto-pilot & because the song can give the impression of movement without the singer actually having to move.
Have you heard from Jan lately?

Pip you rock! Thanks for posting this set list. I am pretty happy with it.. it is almost what I expected it to be. Although, how the heck can they leave off Everybody Finds Out??? This is a totally rockin' song and it would be 1,000 times better instead of Stand Back. I am glad to see that Beautiful Child made it and can't really wait to hear the new songs live.. yippee.. I am totally excited about hearing Running Through The Garden and Come live! I can't believe that they are closing with Goodbye Baby. I thought for sure we wouldn't be hearing that one, but I am glad that we are.. love that song!

Someone's gonna have to carry me out of there when it's over, I swear. If they do GB last.....:::Sniff Sniff::: I'm gonna be bawling my eyes out. I'm so glad they're doing it, though.
Stand Back needs to go. I'd much rather see EFO, or SOTM...and drop Don't Stop or World Turning and put Angel in it's place. :D
I'm soooo excited about Beautiful Child and RTTG!!! YAYYY!! I was surprised to see RTTG. I LOVE that song. :]
Overall, I'm pleased, though. I was hoping that they'd pull out more of the older ones that they haven't done in awhile, instead of Rhiannon, etc. but it's great that they're including so many new songs. I hope they keep them all. :D

Hmmm, well I didn't see Second Hand News, I'm So Afraid, Not That Funny, and Go Insane on the list (unless im blind). I wish they'd do ISA still and maybe NTF if it's done correctly. Maybe they will, this is after all just a rehearsal list, so I suppose they can still add some things and take things out of they really want to.

No matter how many times we've seen/heard "Dreams" performed live, it's one of those songs that pretty much has to be played.
It still stands, 26 years later, as Fleetwood Mac's only #1 single, and it will always be one of their most famous tunes.
I was talking to a good friend of mine recently, who's a "moderate" Fleetwood Mac fan, and she rattled off a list of songs (including "Dreams") that she'll be deeply disappointed if she doesn't get to hear when she sees them in concert ("especially when I'm paying this much money to go")... and most of them are ones that people have listed here as tunes they absolutely don't want to hear again.
So there ya have it.
But I think this setlist looks pretty fantastic, and has a nice range of songs for everyone... from the big, recognizable hits, to a nice heaping helping of tracks from 'Say You Will.'
Though I do agree that "Stand Back" could easily be dropped in favor of just about any of Stevie's other Mac tunes... such as "Everybody Finds Out," or even "Seven Wonders."
While I consider it to be an absolutely essential inclusion for her solo tours, it's not necessary for a Mac concert (I feel the same way about "Go Insane," so thankfully that's nowhere to be seen).

Okay, so I'm schlepping off to Columbus... I'm thrilled with this set list, it should rock. Stand Back is one of my favorite songs ever but i would much rather hear Everybody Finds Out. It's the 2003 equivalent of Stand Back. And Come? Oh my stars! Can't wait for that. The bathroom break will be Rhiannon and World Turning. And no, I don't want to hear Dreams again but they kind of have to play it. Goodbye Baby should leave me in a complete heap. And Beautiful Child, that will turn out to be the show stealer.

I'm pretty excited about this setlist. If they do 8 new songs on the full tour, I'll be very, very happy.
My only disappointments:
No Buckingham/Nicks songs - what a wasted opportunity!
Stand Back - I agree w/ everyone else. This is essential for Stevie, not FM. EFO would have been perfect in its place.
Mick's solo - Noooooooooooooo!! :mad: I absolutely hate, hate that drum vest thing. Does anyone actually like it? Anyone? Or the fact that it goes on forever? I think it's a bad move putting that as one of the encores. People are going to leave when he starts up with that damn thing. Ugh.
No Monday Morning/Red Rover - I was psyched for these.
But the good things - Beautiful Child!! They're really going to do it! And closing with Goodbye BabY? And Say Goodbye is there! And RTTG! Lots of surprises for me.
I give the setlist a B+. Ditch Mick's solo and I'd give it a solid A. :laugh:

I probably would have liked the setlist more if I hadn't already set my heart on hearing Sisters of the Moon, Blue Letter, Seven Wonders, Tango In The Night, etc. But, there are a few surprises...I LOVE Beautiful Child, and Running Through The Garden! Opening with EOTW is kind of weird, because quite a few people have never heard the song....but if the do it like the Mirage live version it will rock as an opener! hmmm.....wonder if this is the concret setlist for the entire tour?

Ya know, maybe they aren't doing songs like EFO and Seven Wonders simply for the whole keyboard fact. I mean, i Know SOMEONE is going to be playing but on the album, it was John who was playing keyboards, correct? Maybe they'd rather do songs where guitar, bass, and drums are the main links in the chain so to speak :shrug:

04-27-2003, 05:23 PM
Although I would change a lot for my own tastes I know there are songs they've gota do for mainstream fans. The only changes that can help, not hurt, are getting rid of Stand Back in favor of any new Stevie song, or an older one of equal value like Sisters of the Moon. Everybody always loves that one live. Also, I think it's a mistake to do Tusk without Chris on accordian. Without her vocals on Dont Stop, it's a waste of time and a possible clinker at the end of an otherwise good show. I'd ditch that too, in favor of anything else. I'd suggest closing with Songbird if they want to pay tribute. Stevie and Lindsey should try it together and see if they can pull it off. If they can cut it on the vocals with Brett on piano I'd love to see the show end that way. I don't know if I can deal with Goodbye Baby without leaving the show bawling. I can live with the rest of the list. I wish they were doing my song. Why no Miranda? Boo-hoo!

you know i havn't seen the mac or stevie solo since 1997 (my TISL show got cacnelled) so im darn glad they are going to do Rhiannon, dreams, and stand back. It's not my fault other people saw them multiple times on the TISL tour or whatever. Don't forget about other die hard mac fans who havn't been able to catch stevie solo or the mac in quite a long time.

I think the setlist is good - and frankly it's much better than I expected. If I had to pick one to get rid of it'd be DON'T STOP! I hate that song and now that Christine isn't here, why bother with it? Can't wait for Come, RTTG & Beautiful Child though. I'm also hoping for an acoustic version of Gypsy, which I think is likely. Also, I REALLY hope that Eyes of the World sounds like the Mirage video version.

I"ll give the setlist a B+. Great to see RTTG, Beautiful Child, and Eyes of the World, but where the heck is Thrown Down?!? They have to do this one!! I am thrilled that they are doing Silver Springs and Goodbye Baby!!
I am surprised that Come was done live. I am not sure how well that will go over at the concert (just too weird, for me at least). I am glad that Red Rover wasn't included (here's hoping they keep that one out of the setlist).

~~~For the most part I'm happy with the set list. Will we ever hear Sara again? What about Thrown Down? There are alot of songs and my concern is that some will be dropped as the concerts proceed. It concerns me that it was mentioned that Stevie was tired!!! Maybe she justs needs time to adjust. Anyhow I'm looking forward to hearing as many songs as they can possibly do.~~~
Wow what an amazing setlist! I wish I could have been there, wow, that is amazing. For me, even though its same ol on hearing some of those songs, it still thrills me nonetheless. I ended up feeling sick so I stayed back home instead of risking not getting in. Im really looking forward to seeing them this summer... wow!
I'm actually really excited that "Stand Back" is in the set. It always gets the crowd on it's feet and I've never seen Stevie NOT be into it. If I had got to tade one of Stevie's songs in this set, it would be Gypsy for Sisters of the moon. Gypsy wasn't exciting on the dance and i can't imagine it being that exciting now (UNLESS they do it acoustic like the AHI benifit). Also, wish Eyes of the world were replaced with Second hand news.
Get over it with "Stand Back"...it's been a Fleetwood Mac concert STAPLE since 1987 (well...the tours that included Stevie, that is). It even was RELEASED on a Fleetwood Mac album (the Chain box). So, let go of the stigma that it is a "Stevie solo song". It is now (and probably forever) a Fleetwood Mac song.
Thanks Chili-My thoughts exactly.
All the fuss about the setlist...puh-leez...how many new songs played...eight!?!? EIGHT!? Has FM (since '75) ever played that many new songs in a concert?!? I couldn't be more happy with the set! There is a lot of new songs (as opposed to the three or four we should expect with the history of this band) and there are the classics which will never go away (The Chain, Dreams, GYOW, Rhiannon, Don't Stop).
And yeh, as for Stand Back, I could do without it. It easily could be replaced with Everybody Finds Out (which I personally find to be one of Stevie's best recordings in years), or with any number of old Mac tunes or B/N stuff. But it's in there, and it has been in the set with Stevie since '87, so it's probably not going anywhere.
This set list is only ok. I want SEVEN WONDERS !!!!!!!!! Where is Thrown Down? Sara? (Guess we will never be hearing it again) Storms? Some of the songs I could do without (World Turning, Eyes of The World,I'm So Afraid, Say Goodbye) Red Rover would be a welcome addition. Oh well we can't please everyone.
Stand Back has got to go. If Stevie wanted to do a solo song do Touched By An Angel or Everyday.
Ok here we go........
Eyes of the World - Happy with this.
The Chain - Not bad.....the chain has been broken though, it's missin' a link there, can't get past that...
Dreams - This just HAS to be there, it may be old, folks may be sick of it, but we've all got to hear it.....only #1 they had....good, classic song.
Peacekeeper - Yeah!! Love is the sweet surprise!
Say You Will - Yeah again!!
Never Going Back Again - I love this one! Very good!!!!
Rhiannon - Put her to rest!! Let her stop ringing, ruling and flying.... put Everybody Finds Out in there, in place of this one, and kick it's little ass!!
Gypsy - This had better be the acoustic version! Would love to see that live! If it's not, scrap it......for like, Sisters of the Moon.
Come - Nice
Running Through the Garden - I don't know about this one. It's kinda draggy & rambling in the wording. If they're going for a new song here, maybe Illume, nice 9-11 tribute......I think I'd even like Thrown Down.......if they're going for an old song, maybe Storms.
Big Love - Tired of the acoustic version....I agree, play it with the whole band.
Landslide - Gotta be there!
Say Goodbye - Should be interesting....kinda fast wording.....wonder how well they can keep up with each other!! LOL
What's the World Coming To - Yippie-alright!!!
Destiny Rules - This one's pretty good too.
Beautiful Child - SWEET JESUS!!!!!!! They ARE going to do this one! Alright!!!!!
Gold Dust Woman - Glad to see this one still around.
I'm So Afraid - Aw yeah!!!!
Silver Springs - Another must-have! Yes!!!!!
Tusk - Eh, can take it or leave it......how about Murrow......or Monday Morning.....
Stand Back - As much as I hate to see this solo song in a Fleetwood Mac setlist where it really doesn't belong, I can't help but love this song and it's energy! This is a dancer! I'm going to enjoy it even though I don't want to!! LOL
Go Your Own Way - Great one!
Encore:
World Turning/Mick solo - World Turning is fine, no problem with that.......somebody stop Mick from slapping that vest for what seems to be an endless period of time......NO solo!!!
Don't Stop - No, Please, STOP......Christine isn't there anymore, don't do this one.
Second Encore:
Goodbye Baby - Don't know what I think about this one. It's good. In some ways I think it would be a good closer, but in some ways I think it'll make everybody too sad, ending the night with this. So, no comment!! :D
Why oh why is practically everybody hoping for Red Rover? Goodness no!! Keep it out of the setlist!!!! I'd rather hear Steal Your Heart Away! Or Murrow....wait, I said that one already. Anything! But Red Rover!!????
I don't think ending the show with Songbird as a tribute to Christine is a good idea.....the woman's just retired, not dead (heaven forbid!). :laugh:
I think Goodbye Baby would be a great closer. It's sad in it's own right, but it's also a very hopeful, optimistic song. "I'll be with you someday." I like it as a closer. And plus, people will never forget it.
Sorcerer386
04-30-2003, 12:14 AM
I also like the idea of Goodbye Baby as the closer. I don't understand the thinking that because it's not a classic like Songbird it shouldn't close the show. Let's not forget at one point Songbird was not a classic, and at one point Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You was not a classic, and I THINK (may be wrong though) these both started closing shows as soon as they were released. Besides, wasn't the meaning of encores always a surprise? I mean, not in the sense that you think the band is done, but doing songs you never expected.
Beyond that, Goodbye Baby's chorus is VERY fitting for a closer. "Goodbye baby, I hope your heart's not broken, don't forget me, yes I was outspoken..." like she's saying goodbye to the audience. I STILL think this set list will change for the tour, so anything could still happen. And I disagree...full band, fast paced Gypsy would be better IMO. Gypsy always sounded better to me when it was upbeat.
