Why is she wearing the same outfit?

She looks good but again, withdrawn. She sounds good though!

Lindsey looks even better than last night...

At least she smiles:)

And they look at each other ( sigh!)

I think they turned off Lindseys mic!!

It was good, better than last night but much too short :(

what was up with his voice though!? he shouldn't try singing it an octive higher like that, bad idea.

To answer your question on the same outfits.....I've been to both Conan O'Brien and the Caroline Rhea show. A lot of the time, they'll splice shows together. Leno may have filmed two shows yesterday. When I went to Caroline, it wasn't a live show...it was her second show of the day and they were bringing in another celebrity to interview for a show that was to air the week after. And when I went to Conan, he was filming a show that was to be aired 4 days later. That may be the explaination for that which would also make sense why they still didn't sound 100% kickass on the song...filmed in the same day. However, it was much better than Peacekeeper. I got annoyed by the fact that Stevie was like, singing to Lindsey and wanting him to turn around toward her. He like, hardly did!

I totally agree, why was Lindsey trying to sing in such a high voice, it does NOT work for him! And Stevie in the same black dress....oh well, Stevie's vocals were pretty good and it was just pretty cool seeing the mac on tv since this is my first time in this run of appearances.....

WHY did she wear the same outfit? lol, Stevie, don't ya know people are gonna ride ya about it?

They don't seem comfortable to me, with the new songs. Maybe that's why they seem so subdued. They did sound better tonight...but it's almost like they're having to really concentrate on getting it right. Maybe that's why they aren't looking at each other that much. Too distracting. :D

Remember the part in the making of SWY when Lindsey asks Stevie's feedback on his vocal on "Say You Will":

Stevie, "That will be the part you will be stuck singing each night on tour!"

Brought a smile to my face watching him sing it tonight!

It wasn't awful, but it was far from spectacular. And worst of all -- BORING! SYW is a fun song, and they should try to play it up a little more. You know, she needs to move a little, or haul out the tambo, or something. BUT DON'T JUST STAND THERE LIKE YOU'RE ASLEEP! And don't get me started on the outfit, not that's that important to the performance, but still...

And Lindsey's voice does sound strained. Is he perhaps ill? Let's hope so.

nice try but Sandra Bullock and that army chef came over afterwards to shake their hands. it's true, she did wear the same ugly-ass thing two nights in a row.

I'm saying Leno may have taped two shows yesterday...one in the afternoon and one in the evening. They do it all the time. It may have not been taped today, they may have both been taped yesterday.

Right I understand now, I was just having a dumb moment. Let's hope that's true. But she should have planned better. If she would cough up the dough and hire herself a stylist, like we all wish she would, then maybe things like this (and outfits like that) wouldn't happen.

Hey her birthday's coming up, right? Anyone want to take up a collection to hire her a stylist for the tour as an early birthday present???

"Here is a place that will never be dark . . . .

Well, she sounded good in her lower (and I mean lower) range; the band also sounded good. They also looked a little more animated, which could be the result of the pop flavor of this song. LB also kicked a little booty during the solo.

That outfit has to go. She looked a little broad in the beam :]

You know, I think that's what it was. I think it was taped on the same day. Her hair and everything looks exactly the same as it did last night. But still though, Lindsey and John at least changed their shirts. (Didn't notice Mick, lol) She could've at least changed cardigans. :D

I still love ya, Stevie. lol.

Stevie's outfit and demeanor are getting sort of grannyish..which is ok I guess.... sigh...

Why did she have such cool outfits during the Street Angel/Klonopin years. Anyone else remember that blue number she had on when she performed "Blue Denim" on one of the late night shows.

I know what she needs...to go back on sedatives and gain back the 50 punds..she seemed more motivated to come up with interesting ways to disguise her weight back then....

Not to mention the fact that she seriously sang very very well with the extra weight on her too. She sounds so good on my SA tour videos, and she gets the high notes out better than she had since Tusk!

Oooooh i'll be her make-up artist!! Oh, and Janet, you win. Tonight, I noticed the split ends. But I still love her dearly. Stevie doll, you could come out in a trash bag and i'd still be like, "Yay Stevie!!!" Hopefully the issue was they were late for the taping of the show because they were REHEARSING DILLIGENTLY and no one had time for hair and makeup and clothing and whatnot.

Wow, lol. So far I've read in this thread that it's in hopes that Lindsey is sick, Stevie will gain more weight, and that Stevie will go back on sedatives.

Come on guys.....it wasn't *that* bad....

Yea, I really don't think it was bad. And just remember, despite her being a celebrity, she's "getting older too." If she were to cut off her hair and put on new clothes, we'd all be finding something else to bitch about. Sooooo.....I say do what you're feeling Stevie.

lol, Tiffany.....Just poking fun. I've complained, too. :D But honestly, I think Stevie *looks* great. Wish she'd have worn something more colorful, but oh well. They just need to LIVEN it up some. Okay well, a LOT. :D At least they sounded better tonight on SYW than they did last night on Peacekeeper. :)

Yeah! What the hell kind of harmony was that? It sounded awful. Can Lindsey even hear himself up there on stage?

Bad vocal arrangement for you, Linds.

Maybe Lindsey needs to listen to his own lyrics:

Thought that our harmony was the new harmony!! Lord, it was a little too strange..

Lindsey's been losing his singing voice for about 3 years. I could tell it was starting to get shaky in 2000 at Stevie's benefit show and was worse at the 2001 event. The New Year's Eve thing last year was not good. I think it's been going downhill from there. He needs to take it down a notch. All the screeching he did over the years killed the high end of his range and now he can't stay in tune. He needs to sing lower and deal with it from there. A vocal coach could have helped but it's a little late now.

The shaky vocals is indicative of the lackluster way the band are presenting themselves on this tour. So far on TV they've looked tired, worn out, and seeming not to care. What's up with this? The whole attitude is out of character. Even in the days when they were too angry, too wasted, or too foolish to know any better, they still seemed to put more thought and care into how they presented themselves. Now it's like...whatever. Both nights on Leno they looked like they just rolled out of bed before going on stage, then proceeded to sleepwalk through the performances. They sure have a lot of work to do in the next 2 weeks to become road ready.

Good point about the screeching years wrecking his range.

But wouldn't a really big factor with Lindsey's current live performing be that he really hasn't been on the road for five/six years? I don't know, but it seems perhaps the big break they took is catching up with them.

I'm afraid that's exactly what it is. It sounds like they need to rehearse for another couple of months. Oops. Too late now.

I'm not sure what the problem is. I thought SYW sounded much, much better than PK the night before. But it still started off kinda rough and some of the harmonies were just not right. I thought SYW and PK both sounded pretty good on Today last week, so maybe the sound/acoustics/whatever in Leno's studio aren't up to par.

Stevie sounded great, but she looks so, so tired. If she's like this now, how is she going to be when the full blown tour is in swing? I have this fear of cancelled/postponed shows heading our way this summer. (I couldn't care less what she's wearing, as long as she shows up!)

I'm really kinda worried about the tour now. I want them to do well, I want them to get great reviews, and I want them to blow me away, but right now, I don't see any of that happening.

I guess we'll know more after this weekend. Maybe some reviews of the dress rehearsal can give us an idea of how ready they truly are. I've got my fingers crossed.

I posted this in another thread, I know someone who was at the taping of SYW on Thursday, it was not taped the day before.

If anyone cares to go back and watch SYW again you'll notice that there IS something wrong with the mixing and sound. In the early part of the song Lindsey's voice is coming in ridiculously loud and strange almost drowning out Stevie's voice. This continues and starts to fade down by the middle of the song and by the end when he's singing harmony with her while the band is still playing, you can barely hear him and it's noticeably lower than it was earlier in the song. Lindsey appears to be singing at the same volume but whoever is mixing and controlling the sound and volume of the vocals and instruments clearly changed it by the middle of the song. By the last part where Stevie and Lindsey are singing without anyone on backup and almost no instruments being played, they sounded ok. I posted this yesterday in another thread, there is SOMETHING wrong with the mixing and sound coming from the band. The Jay Leno studio may be a contributing factor, but I think it's a FM problem too

Took the words right outta my mouth!

I don't think it has anything to do with them being unprepared for a tour. If you remember back to the Dance, they only rehearsed for 3 months and were out on the road. I don't believe it has anything to do with getting back into the swing of things after an absence; they hadn't toured together for years before the Dance. And Stevie just came off a tour! I'm really worried, y'all. REALLY WORRIED.

I just watched it on my Tivo and I thought it was pretty good!

Yes, Lindsey's vocals were a little shaky, but I really liked Stevie's warmth. Yeah, she didn't fly all over the place, but SYW isn't a "fly all over the place" song. It's more like a "lay in the hammock in Hawaii" song.... that's a good thing!

I really think Stevie's voice sounded great!

Okay, so now that the tour is almost over, what do you think? I didn't go to the dance tour, so I can't compare.

And I completely agree that the band is presenting themselves as if they are a bunch of patients at a nursing home that should be eating their lunch through a straw. Did you see the AMAs? They were all half asleep sitting on the couch!

At least they are all good on the tour. But the general public doesn't know that...

My thoughts:

On the first leg, Lindsey rocked and Stevie was mediocre. Quite disappointed that they dropped RTTG and Destiny Rules, but what can we do about it? LOL

On the second leg, they both rocked. Stevie was twirling like a maniac during Stand Back.

This tour has the most incredible version of Stand Back *ever*, and the same goes for Second Hand News.

I think, in general, this tour is all about Lindsey. He shines on every song, he totally loves the attention, and he gets the audience going the most. He's also incredibly energetic and his new songs are highlights.

Stevie was much better during the second leg and Beautiful Child is her shining moment at every show.

The song SYW is pretty lame in concert, as is Peacekeeper; they both sound very cheesy to these ears.

Overall, it's a great tour, but they need to change the setlist PRONTO.
