I just had the chance to really sit down and listen to this album and hope I'm not going crazy for picking up on these little familiarites in some of the new tunes.
"Miranda" - this song just screams "Big Love" to me, the acoustic version. There are certain points where the guitar songs almost exactly the same as part of The Dance version of that song.
"Murrow...." - Definitely hearing licks from "World Turning", though they're so short, I wouldn't be surprised if I were called crazy for this one.
"Destiny Rules" - First few licks remind of "The Chain".
"Bleed to Love Her" - Now, I KNOW I've heard this one somewhere before! ;)

Say You Will reminds me a lot of "Angel," a good ol rock and roll song from the 70s.

Well, let's not forget that end solo on "Murrow" is basically just the same solo as on the live "I'm So Afraid" and on "Tango In The Night". (and that's a GOOD thing!)
To me, the melody & feel of "Say You Will" sounds like Stevie's "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind"....see? I TOLD YOU "MLWCYM" would've made a good Fleetwood Mac song! :)
"Destiny Rules"...exactly my thoughts...even lyrically is "The Chain, Part 2", sort of.
The more I listen to SYW, the more songs sound like they'd better fit on other Fleetwood Mac albums...for example:
"Miranda" sounds like it would fit on Tusk
"Everybody Finds Out" would've been a great Stevie Nicks tune on Tango In The Night...which that album really needed.
"Smile At You"-I know it WAS recorded for it, but even THIS version sounds like it would've fit on Mirage
"Thrown Down" (the wall of sound version) sounds like it would've fit well on Behind The Mask

Actually A LOT of these songs remind me of earlier songs, and now that the topic has been brought up I can't think of many. The one I can think of right now is the guitar at the beginning of Smile At You reminds me of Caroline. Thrown Down's guitar reminds me of Gypsy. And yes, I thought I was the only one who thought Say You Will was like Maybe Love! I THINK it's also the beginning of the instrumental in Say You Will that reminds me of Blue Letter from the Mirage video.
I saved this one for last because it is funny, although it doesn't relate back to a Fleetwood Mac song. The first two notes of Murrow always make me think that Hands Clean by Alanis Morrisette is about to start playing. I don't know if they are the same two notes or if they just ascend similarly or what, but just those first two quick notes remind me of it.
The beginning of Murrow really reminds me of Lola (My Love) after the bass has kicked in (on the latter).

"Miranda" is something like "Big Love" (acoustic, part II)... and I agree with ChiliD's two last comments, the big "Thrown Down" (the one that I still like the most) sounds like early 90's Fleetwood Mac (BTM) and "Smile At You", especially in this version, sounds like it could have fit on Mirage... easily. "Running Through The Garden"... I know it reminds me of something I've heard before, "Fireflies" could it be? I don't know... Still trying to figure it out.

The drum intro on WTWCT and Trouble are very similar as well.

I thought the exact same thing when i first heard it.
Music wise...Illume was a big (and pleasant) suprise.
Too bad rock acts dont release instrumental versions of their albums.
