ok, if she was still around there would be either 4 or 5 songs from the album as we know it that would have to go...SO

Take off 4 OR 5 songs from say you to make room for the fictional christine songs that would be on if she was still making music with them

Here's the catch..they have to be either 2 Stevie and 2 Lindsey songs (if Christine has 4 songs) OR 2 of one and 3 of the other

so to recap

2 stevie and 2 lindsey songs to go

OR

2 of one and 3 of the other

1) RUNNING THROUGH THE GARDEN - (SOUNDS LIKE A STEVIE SOLO SONG)

2) SILVER GIRL

3) RED ROVER - (I LOVE THE PLAYING AND MELODY...BUT IT IS TOO INTENSE AND ALMOST GIVES YOU A HEADACHE....AS MUCH AS I LOVE IT....ALSO A LINDSEY SOLO SONG)

4)BLEED TO LOVE HER - LOVE THE LIVE VERSION, DON'T NEED TO HEAR IT AGAIN

A general note: I miss some of those harmonies ala: RHIANNON, MYSTIFIED, GO YOUR OWN WAY ETC...
MAYBE I MISS CHRIS!

 :distress: But I do love the album!

Maybe if Christine had been on the record, it would of been made into a 2-disc set, seeing as how there would of been more songs. I feel they would of taken some of the songs that they eliminated from the standard disc (Not Make Believe, ect.) and mixed those in with 9 Christine songs. I so wish that they would have done it that way. It could of made a already awesome album even better.

ok, I'll do mine

2 stevie songs to go:

goodbye baby(unless it was redone)
Silver girl:( :distress: I really like that song but it needs reworking.

3 Lindsey songs to go:

Murrow turning in his grave
Say goodbye(great music but weak lyrical melody and vocals)
Bleed to Love her(great but got it better on the dance)

i would keep the current 18 SN/LB songs, and add 9 CM songs, as Jason T. said. perhaps 'temporary one' from the dance would have been included, as BTLH was (temporary one is a great song too--i was disappointed a studio version was never created).

That's the reason why I am happy the way it is- I don`t want less Lindsey songs on future albums. But O.K. to play the game-
I would chose:
LB:
Bleed to love her (why is it on there again anyway? Stolen space for something new)
Miranda

SN:
Silver girl (I don't get it why they chose this dragging one)
Goodbye baby
Running through the garden

Well Lindsey's are easy...

1. Red Rover (hate it hate it hate it hate it) :P
2. Miranda (would be good if not for the annoying as hell chorus)
3. Bleed to Love Her (why did we need to hear this one again?)

Stevies....hmmm...

1. Smile At You (if only it would have been produced better!:distress: )
2. Destiny Rules (yes...I like Silver Girl more than this one...LOL *ducks from flying objects*)

ugh..I would NOT want Temporary One if Christine had been a part of this album...that song is ...not good.

Gosh, I agree. I ALWAYS skip past Temporary One. That's just one of those songs that after many tries I can't get into. It, Sweet Girl, and Bleed are all songs that I feel were rushed to get on the Dance so as to have more than just old songs, and they just don't work for me. Although, that's just my opinion.

Funny, I was going to post this topic on Thursday, but the server was too busy to let me on. Thanks for putting it up.

LB: Come, Red Rover (hate the chorus, & the rest sounds like Say Goodbye)

SN: Destiny Rules, Illume (hate the snake voice, like the rest)

Lindsey
(aaggggghh so hard, lol)

1) BTLH (I agree, being on The Dance was enough)
2) What's the world coming to

Stevie

1) Silver Girl
2) Illume... blah

I have the feeling I'm going to be in *BIG TROUBLE* after this post, but here goes:

I'm going to 86:

Illume
Silver Girl

Red Rover
Come

If Christine had 5, What's the World Coming To would be gone too. This CD is a new experience for me. I've NEVER favored Stevie over Lindsey in Fleetwood Mac before. Weird. The new sound is interesting.. but imo, they are SERIOUSLY missing Christine's voice. Especially on today's "Today Show" performance.. Go Your Own Way and Rhiannon would have sounded so much better.. the background singers just don't make up for Christine's loss. (bless them, we love them anyway)

I miss Chris. Her touch would have made this album HUGE, and if the band had just cut these tracks:

Lindsey- BTLH...why this again?
Come...not my cup of tea

Stevie- Silver Girl...boring
Destiny Rules...hate the production

I definitely agree that without Christine there's a dimension of FM that is missing. But overall the fireflies who remain did an outstanding job with the new album.

If I had to axe some songs to make way for Chris:

Lindsey's:

BTLH - It is kind of redundant, but I do like this version beter than the one on The Dance.

Say Goodbye - Maybe a grower???

Stevie's:

Silver Girl - nice song, sung well with a beautiful melody but just doesn't quite make the cut.

Running Through The Garden - maybe a premature cut but this song just isn't registering with me yet.

I'm not taking off any more, that was hard enough. :)

for me it would be:

Come - I tryed real hard to like this one, but just can't
Miranda - Ok but not great.
say good bye. I don't like the way he sings it.

Stevie

Running through the garden... It's choppy and dosn't flow that well.
Silver girl. Like the music but it drags.

Lindsey:

WTWCT (Love it, but it's not my fave on the album)
BTLH (Should have been nixed for another GOS song!! I do love it still tho.)

Stevie:

Silver Girl (YUCKY lyrics!!)
Goodbye Baby (Sad and pretty, but I am not IN LOVE with it)

Sorry i didn't see this thread and started the same thing.

Lindsey:

Say Goodbye- I don't like it
Bleed to Love Her- only because it's a repeat song
Miranda- I really love it, but it's got to go

Stevie:

Silver Girl- it's just weaker then her lot
Say You Will- just cause Chris could do a song like this too
Goodbye Baby

I love every one of these songs, but Im going to say that I'd get rid of....

(For Stevie)
1.Silver Girl
2.Running Through The Garden

(For Lindsey)
1.Say Goodbye
2.Bleed To Love Her

I really do miss Chris on this (hey that rhymed) album. She just completed the harmonies between Lindsey and Stevie beautifuly. I do hope she changes her mind and returns to the Mac in the future.
