For anyone who missed FM on dateline (it just aired here), here's the link at nbc where you can watch the video. It's a nice little 9 minute piece... and you get to see them rehearsing Destiny Rules.

Okay, was it just me or was the fact that they are "OLD" mentioned WAY too much. Also, I'm not sure why this was done (obviously on purpose to create more *drama* or some BS) but the reporter kept alluding to the fact that perhaps even though they say they're having fun, they really aren't. He kept adding, "or so they say." Why?? I dunno...I expected a little more from the interview...then again, i've never been a fan of NBC. They should be doing some 20/20 Downtown and Good Morning America. Oh, and Why does Madonna get a whole hour to herself? lol

Oh my God, that bugged me to no end!! It's like he was saying they were putting up a front or something. Besides that I liked the interview. Though, Stevie's "designer coke" comment was a little ...dumb.:D Sorry Stevie I still love ya.

That was CRAP!! I was gonna say the SAME thing about this but you beat me to it Marissa! LOL I kept going "Would he SHUT THE FRICK UP about how OLD they supposedly are?!!" ALSO, I caught that he kept going "So they SAY." Well, are you calling them LIARS?!?!? Dumb-a$$. I'm sorry, I'm sick of hearing the word OLD and FM in the same sentence. THEY ROCK HARDER than 99.9% of young singers/bands out there today...so STICK IT! Sorry, folks, I'm in a bit of a tizzy tonight.

Why did I even begin to think that FM would be treated with RESPECT and DIGNITY?!?! I agree that the media is TRYING to start some CRAP in about them STILL being this sex, drugs, rock and roll, we have relationship issues and can't be happy, we fight constantly..band, which is a bunch of BS. He goes "Can you still have rock and roll without the sex and drugs?" WTH kind of stupid-a$$ question is THAT?!?! Are they gonna ask MADONNA that question? Probably not.

I need to lie down. LOL Seriously, I was HOPING they would discuss the songs and stuff...WTH was *I* thinking!!??

Awww!! It was cute...it was a "Stevie" thing to say...lol. I still can't get over that the dude had them like, wearing Depends and crapping their pants...like, he was no spring chicken either! And you're right, he made it sound like they were totally putting up a front. I think they're genuinely enjoying themselves.

Ohmygod I know right??? You would think he could have come up with like, a thousand more interesting questions to ask him instead of the whole monotonous sex drugs rock and roll BS. And you have to love how they shoved them into the last like, 6 minutes of the show too.

Marissaaaaaaaa who is listening to the album and loooooveeesss itttttt

You gotta love how they revisit the "Go Your Own Way" saga again and again. The went over it again on the Today Show. They also did a segment on the Mac and Stevie said that part of Lindsey believes that if they never joined the Mac they would have spent their lives together. AWWWWW . . . .

And I LOOOOOOVED Stevie's pants! Please Stevie, wear pants on the tour....Pleeeeeeeeeeease.

Yeah I agree that the interview was pretty much crap. You would think that the public would be sick of this same old story time and time again. Thanks for the link though, I was upset that I had missed it last night!

did you guys catch the "wrinkles" comment during the introduction to the story? i forgot exactly how it went but i was a little surprised not to mention i thought it was unflattering even if it might be true...i think the media sucks big time. and....yes, i'm tired of hearing about the same questions about them...that's FM's thing till the day they die...no one will ever let that soap opera/drugs thing go...actually, i think the band could take more of a stand and try to not speculate on it so much so i guess they're part to blame.

Agreeing to be interviewed for Dateline was a pact with the devil, for NBC News has truly become a shamelessly vapid carbohydrate-filled serving of not-much-of-anything.

Fleetwood Mac can get on any network it wants to tell its story, so picking NBC is the band's own doing.

Which leads me to my main point. Why are Stevie, Mick and Lindsey still talking about the Rumours-era breakups? It's a tired old story. As soon as the guy starts asking, "So tell me what it was like to record Rumours," the band members should simply say, "Sorry, we've told that story many times, and we've moved on. As OLD as we may be, we'd rather look to the future."

It ain't that hard. Of course, the risk in that is that the producer will look at the footage back in the studio and say, "Scrap it. Not enough conflict." The best stories always have conflict.

So ultimately, don't jump all over NBC for doing a ****ty segment on Fleetwood Mac. Jump all over NBC News for being a ****ty news organization, period. Vote with your remote. But if you really want to place blame in regards to the 168th coming of the Rumours breakup story, direct your anger at the band.

Lindsey looked good, though, didn' he? Stevie looked pissed off the whole time, which is probably why the guy kept repeating, "so they say."

Here's a little bit of trivia for you this morning: the interviewer for that piece on Dateline is Matthew Perry (from Friends) step-father!

Carne, you know we are not supposed to say "ain't" on a Fleetwood mac board. J/K:laugh:

I gotta disagree, Lindsey and ALL of them look GREAT!! I think he's just tired from the press and stuff. I cannot WAIT to see them LIVE tomorrow on the Today Show concert!!!! :blob1::blob2:

Yep, I'm SICK TO DEATH of the rehash, BUT on the bright side, we got to see them speak and hear Destiny Rules live!!

I agree it was a lot of the "same ol same ol". I was happy to see them play a bit of Destiney and also SYW. What I wouldnt have given to be in the front row of that "rented stage".

I was loving the older footage. Stevie looked like an welsh angel spinning around with her chiffon. While the "TODAY" show pretty much had the SAME interview footage  Same old "OLD" comments and B/N saga stories... it was great to see the older video footage.

They all seemed to have aged, Stevie looks older, as does Lindsey. I didnt see that much difference in Mick or John though. Was that just me???

Im lookin forward to tomorrows chat & TODAY show apperance! :D

Lindsey Buckingham looks like he is 4000 years old...He has aged considerably since The Dance...

The best Stevie interview I ever saw was with Rosie O'Donnell. She asked all the fan questions instead of the same old bs.

When they were all singing, what was that black thing that Stevie was holding in her hand? It almost looked like a camera. Does anyone know?

I forget the name for it.

It is a device that, among other things, enables her via radio wave to hear herself singing; it is connected to an earpeice in her ear. She usually wears it on a belt around her waist. In the VH-1 Storytellers for both SN and Sheryl Crowe, SN is often seen working it by presumably turing the volume up and down.

Also, at www.fleetwoodmac.com, the interview with Mick seems to be taken at the same time the interviews on Dateline and Today were made. In fact, Mick refers to the cameras and other production stuff.

Thanks for the info... its a shame they had to use retreaded images / footage for the TODAY show.

It always gets me when Stevie talks about the early BN days and refers to how she was the one who needed to get a job, instead of Lindsey. I mean why should it "bother" him to get a job just to pay the bills? I guess that just rubs me the wrong way every time I hear it.

oh I loved Stevie's pants, too!!!!!!!! I am hoping she wears them on tour, but I doubt it - the twirly dress is so much more dramatic to her I think. I also loved her shoes....

He knew how crappy you get treated on jobs, so he would rather play music, I guess. LOL My question is, what would he have done had they not been in FM?? Would he be working in an office like the rest of us schmucks? LOL

I think his video for Holiday Road speaks VOLUMES about Lindsey's feelings toward working in a traditional job. It's like being in jail, it's boring and dull and you cannot WAIT to go on a NATIONAL LAMPOONS VACATION!!!! LOL

Maybe be producing and/or arranging? He has way too much talent to waste it. Same with Stevie.... but I think if musically they didnt make it, perhaps Stevie would have gone on to School / college and did her other career idea (Nursing I think??).

It was ironic for Stevie to say in the interviews on Dateline/Today that if not for FM, perhaps they'd still be together today.

I know. Yipes!!! But, I think even scarier is that she said in the context of LB seems to think that were it not for FM, they would be together. Let the rumors start a flyin'
