Linsluv- you will LOVE seeing Lindsey live - he is incredible. Sounds like you have great seats too! :-)

I had to come into this thread cause I have to agree that Lindsey really really makes this CD what it is - IMO. He's all over it. And the guitar in Murrow - I get chills when I hear it.

He really is incredible. I hope the critics see this CD for what it is - it's truly a masterpiece!

Lauren

PS don't pass out on stage or we'll not get to hear your review!!!:)

If you've never seen Lindsey live you are in for a TREAT! The first time I ever saw him live was The Dance and I mean, he makes that band-they are no way no how the same without him there and I have seen them both ways-with Lindsey and without. It will be an experience.

As for the record, his music on it ROCKS and KICKS MAJOR A**!!:D

Last night I told someone that if they were blown away by LB's Big Love on the Dance, this album makes that look like "Mary Had a Little Lamb."

i just have to say that i have a new found appreciation for lindsey...his songs on this album are AMAZING! now, i'm normally more of a Stevie fan, but i like Lindsey's songs on SYW more than Stevie's. i LOVE Steal Your Heart Away. omg, i had it on repeat for like an hour today. it's so great.

This will be my first time seeing them all together.....i'm going to like, die. Seriously. If any of you are going to the AC and Philly shows, you may have to come, find me and mop me off the ground.

He's a lot darker in his lyrics then I'm used to... but I LOVE it!!:D

Yep, he's alot darker, but I love that too!! I've always loved dark stuff anyways. I do love me some fluffy, pop schlock too tho. LOL I like BSB, NSync and SOME Britney songs, but that's because I like all kinds of music and when they have GOOD pop songs, they have REALLY GOOD pop songs. (Didja catch the Angel reference there? LOL) I think this album overall is their darkest, even some of the bouncy tunes are dark. LOL Let's see what we have here:

Songs about:

Poison (used ALOT as a matter of fact)
Brains oozing
Coming ( ) LOL
Dying/Death in general
Affairs
Greed
Lying
9-11
Killing
Flaming walls ( ) LOL
Suffering
Bleeding
and taking children away

DANG!

They probably have the seven deadly sins wrapped up in one album!! LOL

Christy - I always enjoy your posts the most. You are too F#@%ing funny.

I'm totally LMFAO on that last post.

But as usual, Lindsey delivered and broke new ground with this one.

...It's like this is such a different sound for the Mac - but it's still got some of the classic Lindseyisms for me to do my suave little dance to.

Speaking of "Coming ( )", I just about creamed myself upon the first listen. (ooops, can I say that here?)

Ah, my man Lindsey gets credit. Keep it coming, folks.

I am going to sit out this tour, partly because I have no patience for arenas anymore, partly for some some summer travel plans that are extremely important. But I've seen Lindsey twice, and I guarantee that you guys will be floored with his performance.

I only wish I could see him again doing a solo tour. The concert at the Paradise in Boston during the Out of the Cradle tour remains the top highlight of my concert-going experience.

I think that was a LIL too much info for me, buddy. LMAO!! Had you heard the GOS version of Come? I have LOVED this song since I FIRST heard the GOS version and now, it's like, up a trazillion octaves due to the CD quality and OMG, I just now bought the DVD Audio through amazon.com (here through the Penguin folks!!!) and I cannot WAIT to hear Come, Murrow and Red Rover (the most)!!!

Thanks for LYAO at my posts....I try to strive for that.:lol: You guys keep ME laughing my a$$ off so it's only fair to return the favor! :D:thumbsup:

Carnevaca, you are a lucky mortal to have seen him live. He got sick and canceled the show I was supposed to go to. Now it appears that seeing him live solo is going to be only the remotest of possibilities..:(

I'm just glad I got to see him live on the solo tour when I did (I had front row/center seats). It was a much more intimate setting. But I agree that it was definitely one of the highlights of my concert going experiences as well.

I am looking forward to the Seattle show this year - even though I'm not a big fan of huge arenas etc (unless I'm really close). That's the problem with a band like this - they're just too big.

Now Christy - yes I agree that the GOS demos were exciting. All of those songs were great, and I freaked out when I first heard them. But hearing the "final" production on SYW is nothing short of pure bliss. Personally, I really like what he did with Miranda, which is one of my personal favorites. I was listening to it on headphones tonight. Have you guys noticed how he incorporated Stevie into that? He's got her voice panned in an alternating manner from left to right, as sort of an accent to what he's singing. It's treally trippy! There's no way in hell an idea like that would've ever originated from Stevie. It just blows me away that some people just don't get Lindsey. (Sorry, I just got done responding to another thread in which the originator was complaining about this being too much of a Lindsey album - so I'm a little peeved - lol).

Anyway, the Mac is Back - and what else can I say? LINDSEY ROCKS!

Hmmm - One final thought. Do any of you Lindsey fans ever get the feeling that you know a little secret that the rest of the Mac fans don't?

peace

david

I forgot to add this to my last post. I think this is worth mentioning:

It's bad enough when critics don't "get" Lindsey. But it's not suprising. It's quite another thing though when FM fans don't "get" lindsey. It really just makes me wonder what they think they've been hearing all these years. :distress:

Different opinions make the word go round, but I understand your frustration. I don't understand why people don't like bands/singers that I like, but whatever. I chalk it up to the fact that to most people, music is something you tolerate on the radio driving down the road, it's just there. To ME, music is ESSENTIAL to living...I HAVE to have it...it's my drug of choice, I would love to overdose on it!! LOL In everything I do...washing dishes, cleaning house, working, surfing the net, even watching TV at the same dang time, I have to have music on. It's a shield from the harsh world, it's a net to fall into when you fall over the ledge (hehe), it's a lifeline for me.

Anyways...YES, in answer to your question...I always feel like I have a secret in regards to Lindsey (and FM kinda) and it is AWESOME when people get it, but if they don't, I look at it as, well, they are the ones missing out. Hehe. ;)

I have seen Lindsey live 4th row, right in front of him, and when he played Big Love on The Dance I literally cried!!!!!

Thats when I really appreciated his musicianship more (is that a word?? if not, can it be?? )

I remember it got suddenly quiet on a part of that show, and I yelled "LINDSEY" and waved my ass off, and damn if he waved back to me and smiled!! I died!

(I'm still the classic Stevie fan, but have a much bigger appreciation for Mr. Lindsey...)

Christy, you crack me up! When do you see FM?? I'll be thinking of you, passing out the minute he walks out, missing the whole show, but being perfectly content that you saw that man walk in real life. (I hope not, but it's kinda funny to think what your post afterwords would be like)

Whether it be his songwriting, his guitar-playing, his voice, his production prowess... something!

I also feel the same way in regards to Stevie.
It totally leaves me scratching my head when someone doesn't seem to "get" Stevie, and what makes her talents so unique, and her songwriting style so ingenious.

Granted, and as I've said countless times, it's really all about what speaks to an individual... but the people who seem to find absolutely nothing to like about one or the other (or both) really surprise me.

Ah well, to each his own. :)
(In the meantime, as fans we can just take pride in feeling like we know something special that some others don't!)
