So to those who have cheated and did the AOL listen... what's your fav track? I'm very very surprised to report that Silver Girl is my song of the moment. It really grew on me after a couple of listens :) .

That's easy. :) For me, it has to be Illume. Such a moving, dark, beautiful song. Everything about it is great: the lyrics, music, production, and Stevie's delivery. I love this song!

Goodbye Baby by far.
Having said that  , I also love Come, but it is not new to me, and I love Everybody Finds Out and the song SYW.

Out of the songs I'd never heard before, i.e. the Stevie songs, it's a tie between three songs...I think Smile At You, Illume (9/11) and Goodbye Baby are all amazing. I absolutely LOVE the atmospheric feelings of the first two, and Goodbye Baby is incredibly touching.
Out of ALL the songs, it's the same one it's been for the past two years....COME!!!
SOOOOOOOOOOO glad it was left untouched......here's to an amazing live concert performance!!!!:]

I doubt anything will beat Red Rover for me.

Right now of the songs that are completely new to us, my favorite is Illume. Some of the lyrics are so-so (cliff dweller from the old school???) but I think the delivery is absolutely brilliant. I love the whole tribal chant stream-of-conscience thing that it has going on. When you put it in the perspective of 9/11 I think that it speaks volumes, but its true brilliance lies in its subtlety.
Of course I also I love Come, Red Rover, Say Goodbye, RTTG, Everybody Finds OUt, and Goodbye Baby. I'm sure whichever song we select as our favorites will be fluctuating in the coming days.

i'm totally in love with Smile At You for the past few weeks, but Goodbye Baby is a real kick right in the balls. still can't make up my mind yet...
*note to myself- don't listen to new FM records while on space cakes high*

Goodbye Baby is devastatingly good.
I'm probably biased toward the songs I haven't heard before _ and all of those are Stevie's. But even if that weren't the case, "Baby" would probably be my favorite. The vocal is just phenomenal.
So far, it's Illume and Come with Murrow close on their heels. I'm up to Steal Your Heart away....
Don't know if it's been said yet or not, but does anyone besides me see the similarity between the sound of the beginning of Murrow and Lola...My Love? Very similar guitar or something (I don't know guitar lingo at all, sorry!)
Also, are those strings of some kind at the end of Everybody Finds Out? My favorite part of that song is after she shouts "everybody finds out" and the strings (if that's what they are) do that big buildup. Great song.

i've just finished listening to the album for a second time.. and I can't say I have an absolute favorite, but the songs sticking with me so far are "What's the World Coming To" (my fave Lindsey track) "Murrow" "Come" "Miranda" "Goodbye Baby" "Illume" (so its a 3 syllable word), "Everybody Finds Out" and "Bleed to Love Her".
I really wanted to wait until Tuesday, but when I discovered that I could access the new album via streaming, I left work early and came home to listen with my headphones - I am now very excited about the DVD-audio version.. my thoughts after a couple of go rounds... I'm intrigued, not sure, taken aback, loving most, trying to figure out some, hoping a few others will grow on me, already planning on burning the 9 Stevie songs to CD.. after a little re-sequencing..and have a new Stevie solo cd.. hhmmmm.. ok..
The band must have passed out on the floor after making this record. Because after listening to it twice, I'm exhausted. Now I know the idea behind the cover.
Well, it's another beer (its Friday), and another lit nag champa incense stick and time to listen to "Say You Will", again.
I can never stop listening to Fleetwood Mac. My favorite band - thank you for the new music!
and thanks a million to Pip.. you made my day, angel!!
"..i'm alone now.. with my thoughts..
how we could make it.. how we could get out..
what we've been through, all the drama,
smelling nag champa.."

I like all of Stevie's songs -- though the vocal on Destiny Rules could have been much better, less "old lady" impersonation. My favorite Lindsey track so far is Say Goodbye, only because the music sounds identical to a classical Bach piece that's played a lot in movies (anyone here know it?) -- I wouldn't be surprised if he lifted the track.

Well said, Keith! I was the same way - I only wanted to hear this front to back, back to front ;) for the first time. So I listened to the stream early, early this morning and was blown away. What a gut wrenching set of songs for us FM fans.
As for my favorite - right now Illume is jostling Destiny Rules from the top spot...I guess that makes some kind of sense as they share an entire verse! :)
But the whole thing is just...Wow...way better than I expected, and I expected alot. I'm so proud of our band!
I. Love. This. Album.

There are so many great songs on this album, that it is hard for me to pick a favorite. The ones stuck in my head right now are What's The World Coming To, Everybody Finds Out, Say Goodbye and Goodbye Baby. This is definitely an amazing album.. well worth the wait for me. There isn't a song that I would skip at all. It is their best since Rumours.. in my opinion!

Yeah I guess it's just an unfortunate coincidence that the god-forsaken Lindsey Buckingham had anything to do with it, hey Adam? ;)

Without question - Goodbye Baby. I also love Thrown Down and Smile at You. I think Illume will grow on me. Not too crazy about Silver Girl.
"Illume", "Red Rover", "Come", "Say You Will", "Thrown Down", & "Everybody Finds Out". I like Silver Girl...it does have that "I Miss You" or "If I Were You" sound to it.
"Goodbye Baby" is growing on me. They're all really good...not one I don't like.
So much to absorb from this cd. It sounds awesome. I think one of their best if not THE BEST!
Happy Say You Will Eve! :)

I'll let ya'll know which song is my favorite tomorrow, but I can pretty much guarantee, it's gonna be Red Rover. I've been in love with this song since I heard it...and it makes me cry like ISA does.
I am so anxious and excited about tomorrow...I've heard so many bad things about Smile At You and Silver Girl, but I'm keeping an open mind to all the songs. I'm gonna listen to it as soon as I can get home with it, RIP that sucker open and stick it in the CD player!! I can't wait to see which songs HIT me right off the bat and which ones are growers.

RTTG, though I agree with the poster who misses the "to CUT DOWN" part. Also, rather than repeating "All the love that I have for your life" so often it should repeat the "Never did I mean to" like on the demo. Still, I love the song, & think it could do well if she explains the Hawthorne connection so people aren't thinking the lyrics are too out there.
I like Goodbye Baby. The very beginning (at least the Mp3) sounds like The Second Time, and I keep thinking that Goodbye Baby is probably what Stevie wanted The Second Time to sound like. It was too much voice for that little guitar, but now she has more control/sense of what this kind of song should do. It doesn't have to belt. It doesn't have to scratch like I Sing for the Things. Less is more.

Well, my favorite so far is Destiny Rules. I am only getting to listen to the songs on the crappy AOL stream. I will have to wait until tomorrow until I get the CD to make a fair judgement. I have to say that a few songs that I really did not care for that much are starting to grow on me. Those would be "Red Rover" and "Silver Girl". I still am not used to Stevie's vocal on "Goodbye Baby". I think I like"The Tower"demo better.

There isn't one single song on this album that I hate. :) Goodbye Baby is definitely my favorite. But I can't choose a second fav. TD, EFO, DR, SYHA, BTLH, Peacekeeper, SYW, etc....I love them all. Red Rover is probably my least favorite, I think. :D

Lindsey: RED FRICKIN ROVER BABY and COME!!!!!!! I love PK too, it is AWESOME on the CD because Stevie's been toned down.

I'm in the camp that loves all of them. My order at the moment is:
Illume
Miranda
Say You Will
Thrown Down (takes me back with that awesome guitar)
Smile at You (I wanted that piano intro though)
Peacekeeper
Come
Goodbye Baby
say Goodbye
Murrow
Destiny Rules
silver Girl (love it)
Running through the Garden (the return of that rock a little sound)

Red Rover

Running Through the Garden has been running through my head for the past two days. I think I've listened to this song more the past two days than the rest of the songs combined, and I had never heard the demo for it. This needs to be a live song.
I'm surprised that so many people like Come. I wonder what Lindsey was thinking when he made it that way...it sounds like some Nu Metal band song. I can't bear him screaming in my ear on the chorus the way he does. Then again, it's just my opinion, so please let's not turn this thread into an 8 page argument over the validity of my statement.

Yup, I totally agree. Hate "Come."
But I love just about everything else, to varying degrees. "Goodbye Baby" and "Thrown Down" are current favorites.

My favorite Stevie song, right now, is a tie between "Silver Girl," and "Not Make Believe." My favorite Lindsey song is "Murrow Turning Over In His Grave." Though I extremely like all the songs. "Red Rover" is really beginning to grow on me. And the only track I don't listen to 13 times a day is "Love Minus Zero/No Limit."-- I'm getting used to it, but right now I can't help but go foward to "Not Make Believe." :)

"Goodbye Baby" and "Running Through The Garden" are the ones that I'm currently enjoying the most. "Murrow" is quite a cool song, I like it too. I was a little disappointed at first with the boys chanting at the end of "Say You Will", but then it's beginning to grow on me. I will have to listen to the album lots more to write a proper review of it.
Song of the moment - Goodbye Baby
