Someone said the same sight had a "Spoiler Page" which said that "Goodbye Baby" is defintely "The Tower", though I cant find that info anywhere. Does anyone know if that has been confirmed? Nodmod?
Thanks much.

thank you neil. I kind of expected the lyrics to Silver Girl to be like that. I mean the minute i heard a song called Silver Girl was on this album, i knew it wasn't good. I mean these re awful lyrics. Of course watch me come cack here in 2 weeks saying Silver Girl is my favorite song from the album:rolleyes: but on the other hand I predict Illume to be an absolut BLOCKBUSTER of a song. Just from that mini clip from TVBOFM and these awseome lyrics, once i hear the whole this will be AMAZING.

If Silver Girl is about herself, as I imagine it is, Stevie gets pretty confident in what she says.
"She's got a million bucks/And she looks like it."
That was kind of surprising to see. I still like the lyrics, I'm just wondering if anyone will give her guff for that.
By the way, wasn't a clip of Silver Girl up at FleetwoodMac.com? If it was, and I remember it correctly, she was singing different lyrics. I can't remember them, but it was something about trying to "find you." Or am I thinking of another song?

Well, yeah I agree..to an extent...the lyrics are veering really close to self indulgent. Suprise Suprise!!! ...
But on the other hand...I find it hard to believe that Fleetwood Mac would consider putting anything on this CD that wasnt very good to great!!...They had too many great songs to pick from, ...so I dont think this will be a stinker..So far from what I've heard of Stevies compositions, via the leaks, this will be her most consistent and best outing since "Tusk"
Illume lyrics are intriguing, I also think this will be a powerful song-and is the one I am most eager for.

Hmm, let's not confuse self-indulgence with self-awareness.
Also, I don't think the line about looking like a million bucks is written in a vain way.
When someone's all dressed up in expensive clothes, etc., they "look like a million bucks."
I don't think Stevie was saying she's "all that," so to speak.
Having said that, it may not even be about Stevie.
Perhaps it's about the enigmatic "Miranda"!

Sheryl Crow.
"Silver Girl" was written about Stevie's pal Sheryl. If NOT, then it is most definitely about Stevie herself ...

I'm gonna agree with riff_Shuffler, I think this was written about Sheryl. Especially because of this lyric:
She would have preferred
The last generation
Both Stevie and Sheryl have said before that Sheryl wishes she were born about a decade earlier so she could have grown up with all the music she really loves or something like that.
Having said that, I'm not sure if I really like the lyrics to Silver Girl. They seem...kind of...cheesy or something.
Ilume looks awesome though.

Well, I don't know the line about being a "Girlie Girl" does not sound like Sheryl at all. She seems like quite the opposite.

I also thought it was about Sheryl Crow when I read the 1st verse...But then I agree Pattie, the "Girlie Girl" line kind of threw me and made me think Stevie was suddenly also writing about herself, perhaps its about both of them - in the continuing theme of being women in the male dominated rock-n roll world.
And hey, I can appreciate that these lyrics are being leaked, but it would be really cool if someone out there reading this would post a review of the overall songs...;)

IMO I don't think it's about Sheryl at all -- I think it's supposed to be autobiographical.
It really reminds me a lot of "Garbo" It's got the same themes. "Sometimes she was an actress" (like Garbo, Marilyn, Marlena) and the part about wanting to be from the last generation and all. It's just like "I love to waltz with a man in a dark linen suit all alone at a party, with someone I knew from a time gone by..." Just my thoughts.

Thanks Neil,
I like Illume's lyrics but Silver Girl...ehh didnt like that much. I hope the music complements Illume lyrics and Helps Silver Girls.
I think that Silver Girl could be about Stevie and Sheryl. But you know, that part were it says "She was a girlie girl" to me the key word is WAS. I remember seing pictures of Sheryl and she look very girlie back then. Now, I dont think so.
Oh well, you never know with Stevie.

it's scary, but with Silver Girl all I'm picturing is Avril Lavigne's Skater Boy:eek: :distress:  i know when i hear the song my fears will be put away. But of all the songs out there and we've now seen ALL the lyrics (Everybody Finds Out looks AMAZING) this is the only song that wories me. She was a Silver Girl, living in a high tech world, is almost identical to that annoying Skater Boy.

By the way, if we suddenly know all these lyrics, does that means that the songs have leaked?

we SOME people actually OWN the new CD right now. I don't know how but they do. And they have all heard all the songs and obviously know the lyrics.

Well I don't want to start whining and risk being called a greedy vulture like some of us were called when the original "Thrown Down" and "Peacekeeper" were leaked and understandably, we all wanted to hear them...
But it hardly seems fair that some fans have access to the songs while other's don't. How does one go about being placed on the "A-list" anyway?
In two week's time we'll all hear the songs at least!!!

it's definitly not fair. But it's kind of getting easier and harder to wait at the same time. I mean i keep ssaying OMG just 2 weeks. But it seems SOOO long. But then i say we were waiting for this 2 years ago, when we first heard about it. So how is this two weels seeming so long:rolleyes:

The thing that makes me happiest about waiting until April 15th really has nothing to do with hearing the album as a whole new thing instead of knowing most of it as I did with TISL. When April 15th comes around, I will be in my last week of classes for the semester, and buying the album will be my celebratory act in making it through this semester without going to the insane asylum. This semester has nearly driven me crazy, and I can't WAIT for it to end. So, Say You Will shall be my symbol for making it through. :] :woohoo: :blob2: :blob1: :blob2: :woohoo: :]

Wow, these lyrics (all of them!) definitely do not disappoint. ;)
I especially like Ilume, its lyrics seem to have the same abstract quality as Peacekeeper's. Very tasteful. And how lovely that she dedicated it to Rudy Giuliani anf the New York City FD and PD and the victims of 9/11. That's really beautiful.
Thanks Neil for putting those on your site.

When I first heard that "Illume" was about September 11th, I got to say I was somewhat disappointed in Stevie. I thought she was going to make one of those songs that makes you depressed by openingly stating "All those who lie dead," or "Where you there when the world stopped turning, that September day?" I thought (and still think) that some of the songs made about Sept. 11th were done in the completely wrong approach. If anything, I am completely excited now that Stevie has taken such a graceful leap by using her unique style of writing to create something that really does say something about Sept. 11th , and not take advantage , of what happened. She has made me proud to be a Fleetwood Mac fan even more.:) As for "Silver Girl," I fear that it might resemble "Skater Boy," and I think the feeling is mutual among the fans...if you haven't heard "Skater Boy" then you were blessed by God in some fashion. Leaves one to wonder, will people start to compare the songs because of the first two lines? Because that will be a major insult to Stevie.

ok I just read the lyrics and I hope Illume sounds haunting and mysterious and sad like the lyrics.
Silver Girl, well ummmmm, w/ those kind of lyrics she might pull it off if the song has some sort of cheesy, but chunky-funk sort of sound to it- like a modern day Sister Honey kind of funk!

Oh great..i didn't make the Sk8tr Boi connection til i read this thread.Dammit! J/K...I don't know..i think it is different..and i like it..as much i love Stevie for her serious..heart-touching songs...it is good to see a different side once in a while...Ilume...well...i suppose i am gonna have to hear it..but for the moment it just seems like it is gonna make me sad...maybe not in a bad way...and as for Everybody Finds Out...all i can say is "hell yea Stevie" :)
Also..i know there are people that DO have the album..i was talking to a friend of mine from HS last night that i haven't seen in like two years..and she HAS it.. like her boyfriend or someone does...and i was flipping out...but...there are such major restrictions and she could get in so much trouble..it is really not worth it,you know..so..whatever...two more weeks...i've made it this far...i'll survive,lol...

First of all, I don't see very much of a connection to these lyrics and that of Sk8tr Boi. That starts out "He was a boy, she was a girl, could I make it anymore obvious?" Stating that "HE" is a "BOY" and "SHE" is a "GIRL" is what slam dunks this song into lyric Hell. HOWEVER, I will admit Sk8tr Boi is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's catchy, and it's ABOUT something at least...plus it's a story song, and you know I can't stay away from those. And personally, I love the story about some snotty girl ignoring some guy because of how he looked and then seeing later that he became a rock star and feels like a complete ass because she could have been his girlfriend/wife, rich and famous. It really strikes at all those damn high school memories of people's superficiality...some of which 3 years later I STILL cannot let go of. I don't like Avril, but with this song I say tell it like it is!
