Absolutely....you got that right. It was really obvious during the AOL interviews that Stevie is very unhappy. And, I do think it is a Stevie Lindsey thing big time.

Well they had a double album planned for months and as mentioned in other articles...when the final decisions were made they made it into a single album. Obviously it was warner and reprise pushing for the single album and not the band. Obviously there were several tracks that were cut off of the album, one of them "Not Make Believe". The new article mentioned problems with the running order etc....since stevie is used to being queen of that task, im sure her and lindsey butted heads on that a few times.
Ticket prices...maybe stevie wasnt keen on the big 750 k promoter deal they signed. I just looked at a ticket stub on the penguin tour section and a seat behind the stage slightly was 40.00 in 1997 at HSBC Arena, the same seats are 75.00 this year.
If the mac has to cancell shows due to low ticket sales, that could get messy. Billy joel and elton john had to do that in Little Rock this year. This is a whole different issue...sorry.
I do highly suspect that some ****e hit the fan with warner brothers etc. If you remember, they were shopping around for a record deal for this album (as it was mentioned in some industry magazines)...did warner brothers make them promises to keep them at reprise...and then not hold up to those promises?
Im sure once they hit the road they will all cheer up!

"only because towards the end we had some conflicts about running order AND SOME OTHER THINGS"
Yeah, I'm wondering the same......She cannot be this unhappy and pouty about just the running order....considering they are on the eve of releasing a brand new Fleetwood Mac CD which is basically BN II w/ a first class rhythm section!!!- I mean...Hello!! this is her first love....she probably never dreamed this would come to fruition w/ Lindsey just 5 years ago...she loves this more than anyone. Like Christine, she doesnt have to do this anymore...she just loves it.
But on the other hand, it is just like Stevie to get all dramatic and such...she is so sensitive and like any artist/writer who may have had to compormise their art, words, or vision....for group consensus. I guess shes entitled to be just a little bent out of shape about some decisions that were made. I'm guessing its another "Silver Springs" fiasco- A song or songs were cut in favor of keeping others when they scaled the CD back to a single.

I totally agree with you Jan, but I also think that it has to do with some other stuff as well. The album being changed from a double to a single.. some songs getting cut. There is definitely some tension again, but that just fuels the flames for a greater performance on the stage.. I hope.

In that article she also said she didn't think the band was road ready. She said she's been singing these songs consistently throughout her career but these guys haven't since 1997. Interesting. And yes, I have my suspicions about how well the tickets are selling. This is a different market than what they faced in '97. Something definitely went down. We'll probably find out in about five years, like always.

I'm confused as to why Stevie would be scared that the guys can't play the songs. Lindsey didn't play Dreams, Rhiannon, etc, from like, what, 1982 till 1997, and he came out of the chute like a bull on the Dance...he TORE IT UP!! Then again, maybe they had more time to practice, I have no clue. I think she probably IS mad about songs getting cut, maybe she feels the whole thing is really rushed or something.

..Perhaps she's cheesed off at being the only single person in the band and having to put up with families/ kids and all the other stuff that comes up with that situation...who knows, she needs to get herself sorted before the 7th of May!

I finally had the chance to watch the AOL sessions interview this past week and I don't think I've ever seen Stevie look so pissed! I've seen her be very intense in interviews, but never that angry looking--or that quiet! And I've been a fan since 1975! I was struck by how Lindsey seemed to be trying to get some sort of reaction from her by leaning over and nudging her. I actually saw it as an act of caring and support-knowing that she was unhappy. But why? It can't be just running order or a solo artist now having to revert to groupdom. She lives for this stuff--why would she be unhappy with it now? I hope that whatever it is that it gets sorted out before they hit the road. Considering the price we've had to pay for tickets, the last thing I want to get for my money is a pissed off band! Then again, dissention & unhappiness has always worked wonders for the Mighty Mac!

I much preferred the sense of calmness and healing I felt from them in '97 to the drugged out, tension filled, drama days. I'm seeing them on opening night for a reason kids.

I didn't notice Stevie sounding upset when I heard her, Lindsey, and Mick doing a couple of radio interviews a few weeks ago. I think she might be a little miffed about some of her songs not making it on the single CD. Frankly, I am too....if that's the case! I was looking for a double CD of a total of at least 25 songs. They had have a long time to record. Well, Lindsey and the guys have anyway. Still, why can't they just put her left off songs on the next album. That way they can put it out sooner then say 2 or 3 years.

Fleetwood Mac has had kids on the road with them, off and on, from the time Stevie & Lindsey first joined the band... as Mick's girls, Lucy and Amy, were very young in the late 70s.
I highly doubt Stevie would be having problems with children being on the road with them.
I also don't think she'd be very upset about being the only single person on the tour, as that has happened many times over the course of the years (besides, she still has Sharon and Mindy to pal around with).
They fought over the running order, as Lindsey said... and the "other stuff," was probably in regards to a song or two, that Stevie was fighting to keep, but the band (or Warner Bros.) opted to leave off.
As for Stevie's attitude on the AOL Sessions interview... there may have been some other issues in there too, but I'm still of the mind that she was mourning the loss of her friend, Howie Epstein.
By the time they did the Mark & Brian show, a week later, her mood seems to have improved greatly... as I mentioned in the other thread about this Globe And Mail article.

I agree, SN seemd to have gotten over whatever was illin ( :D ) her. Also, the article was unclear if she was angry with LB, MF, and/or JM. After all, she could be angry with WB for making the decision without consulting the band or not giving the band any say so.

I have to say when i read the article..i rolled my eyes.Stevie seems to like the drama,ya know? I don't know what goes on between her and Linds..but for christ, let it go...it's like she feels the need to hold onto it..for whatever reason.
Don't get me wrong..i am a huge fan of hers, but stuff like this irks me.Linds has obviously gotten over it...he is married and has a family..and hell..she is the one who dumped him all those years ago...it's almost like she doesn't have anything else new to draw from so she dwells on that.I know that sounds harsh, but it is just my opinion. And if she is/was miffed because WB cut some songs..it is NOT like she is some stifled artist..she has a great solo career..she'll get her songs out there one way or another. Honestly...I don't see what else she has to be so uptight about..she doesn't have kids or a husband...it is like lighten up..you are doing what you want to do...what you gave up everything to do...what is the problem?? Just my .02........

To be fair, the article never stated that Stevie was angry with Lindsey, per se... it was just stated that they had hit a rough patch towards the end of the album, and that Stevie was having some trouble seeing it in a positive light.
And really, people *can* fight and argue, and not hate each other.
Families do it all the time!
I think if Stevie had any serious issues with Lindsey, she never would have agreed to work on this album. Or would have pulled out at some point.

This is true...i guess it just bugs me that she finds things to so dramatic about...I'm beginning to like Lindsey more than her,lol..I just started really becoming a fan of his over the last year..and man..he seems like he'd be pretty nice to talk to compared to her sometimes,lol...

I don't see why Stevie being quiet in an interview has to be linked immediately to "she's p!ssed off at Lindsey!!!" I mean... come on... their relationship ended well over 25 years ago. Yes these two will always have a certain edge to their friendship/working relationship... but I just don't see them having "lovers quarrels" like you all seem to think they do. They're all in their 50s now folks... I'd like to think they're better than that. Yeah these people are all perfectionists of their crafts... but I seriously doubt she'd show negative emotion in an interview nearly 4 months after the album was turned in. Just my view though! Who knows... maybe her Yorkie got a bad pedicure earlier that day... or she had to pick up Micks tab ~AGAIN~ at The Ritz  .

By the way, did anyone else think it was really sweet that she called and sang "Landslide" on the voice-mail of David Spade's girlfriend, at his request (as reported in People magazine)?

She is friends with DAVID SPADE?! She sure is forgiving. I was watching a rerun of a '92 SNL the other night when Spade declared that "If Stevie Nicks got any heavier they'd have to make her an honorary member of Heart."
Maybe he did some serious apologizing in order to score that phone call for his girlfriend. lol

Yeah, he was at her house for the first listen to TISL in LA. They became friends around the time that she was hanging with Sheryl a lot. Kid Rock was there too...odd couplings huh?

I seriously doubt Stevie even remembers David Spade saying that on SNL. Hell, she may not have even known in the first place! And even if she did know and does remember, that was 11 years ago and I'm sure she is over it by now. But I remember back during the TISL days that he was around her a lot...I think he was even at that private concert that Kid Rock was at and said "He traveled all the way from (somewhere far) to see her sing Too Far from Texas." I'm sure much meaner things were said between her and Lindsey, and she's hanging around him again  .

Yep and he was at the after party of the last show of TISL in LA, and back stage. They are pretty chummy.
She's human like the rest of us and has good days and bad days. Like anyone else, she has days where she gets bad news and JS mentioned the passing of her friend.
Maybe it has nothing to do with anything about the band or the cd and it's just a human being having a bad day. We've all had days like that and Stevie is not immune because she's a rock star:)

Well, that is the crappy part. It can last up to ten years, that period is known as perimenopause. Menopause is the final point. But, you are on a hormonal roller coaster and it is not a party, I promise. I am 51 and just had a total hysterectomy, but, was peri for like 7 years and it has been gruelling. Finally being done is a piece of cake comparitively. So, it is possible that she is dealing with regular life changes too.
