A number of us have noticed that we had problems with our computers after using Mick's BB. We would like to know if anyone else had experienced problems with their internet connections or detected trojan horse viruses, etc.

Thanks so much for starting this thread... YES.. My entire access to the internet was blocked when I was totally blocked from Micks site. So was Glitters. I have to get her here to talk about this.

It is possible to find out whose isp sent the blocks to your systems. Unfortunately, I reformated, but, I have also discovered that the info is still on my hard drive..I just have to get it.

If this was done maliciously, it is a crime.

How do you find out and who do you report it to?

That is a big YES for me! A friend reading the board yesterday called me about this thread. I'm posting from another location to let everyone know, Yes, my computer was messed with. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. It's being looked into. Let's leave it at that. No, I won't be reformatting just to get back online like some others have done. I refuse to lose the very information which was intended to be destroyed.

Anyone else find it interesting that this happened to others banned by that board? Wonder why? What a coincidence! Here's another coincidence. You need to know the IP of a computer to block or ban access to a site. You also need that same IP address to hack that computer. Ever since I posted over here after being banned there...the day after I openly posted that I saved deleted posts that tell what really happened with the fan club...and the very day that some of the cheerleaders for that site were made administrators with access to system resources, (member info too???) I lost my Internet access. Wow! These are a lot of coincidences.

After reading threads here I see the insanity at the other board continues to go unchecked. People with no accountability have been made board admins and are running amok, not only on that site, but are now coming over here trying to implement spin control. I see they’re still trying to harass other fans into believing their whitewash. As long as it's the status quo I'll be staying offline.

I find one other thing kinda funny. Maybe some of you do too? With all the accusations coming from over there about conspiracies, isn't it ironic: the place that deletes posts and assigns itself a public cheering section spins conspiracy theories? The place that posts self-serving, locked threads, while expunging pointed criticism, the place that makes cheerleaders into administrators, has the nerve to send their cheerleaders over here to talk about conspiracies! I wonder what they know? Anyone wonder what's up with this? I have another question. Are any other fans who made truthful statements about the mismanagement of the fan club now MIA? I don't know the answer since I'm one of the missing. How many others have disappeared from the online fan community? Are they just fed up?

Somebody posted in another thread that I've given my little bit of FM and Stevie stuff away. That's true. After nearly 30 years of being a fan I'm disgusted it's ended this way, but I've got a real life that’s more important than the FM insanity. I don't care to waste any more energy on a band that's so uncaring and irresponsible to let this kind of crap happen to their most devoted fans. Although I wasn't a big participant in the online fan community until I joined Mick's site (to support the band!), I’ve been a great fan since the earliest days. This is the thanks I get for joining the fan club and posting on Mick's board? How nice! Yes, I do understand that the band may not know a lot of what's going on with their own website and fan club. I believe they should know. It's no excuse. However, please don't think I want anyone else to feel the same. People have their own views. This is just mine. I'm done with it, but don't get me wrong. I'm only done with the band, not with what's happened to me because I was a fan. I will not roll over that easily.

Hey glitter,
I'm glad you survived it. If it means anything at all, I am sorry for what happened to you.
Take Care.

A few weeks after I joined "over there" I had a slightly related problem happen to the bandwidth usage of my website...

I had a couple of links listed that went back to my website and one evening I noticed that my daily bandwidth usage went from the usual average amount (From 0.01GB to 0.05GB) to 1.4GB!!!! I checked my records and saw that one IP/ISP number was responsible, I traced that link back to "over there". (The total size of my website does NOT factor in to the figure at all...I checked with some "web-experts", And they ALL confirmed that to me.) They believe someone/something originating from "over there" was "maxing" my bandwidth...

I was told to by my "web-expert" pals to remove/delete the links and see how long it took for my bandwidth to return to normal, Which took exactly 12 hours after I deleted the links (I bought extra bandwidth for added protection)...Seems rather "shady" IMO dontcha think? Brian J.

I hope you will push on and find out what happened to your computer. I'm no computer expert, but if any sort of "wizard-ry" happened because of someone triffling with your pc, I read you to be someone that will follow up on it.

The PR damage done to the Fleetwood Mac internet community is real. Before you totally give up on Fleetwood Mac, the band itself, consider reaching out to the band's management and let them know what has happened. What you've seen, what you have experienced.

I'm glad to hear you are NOT reformatting, and hope you push this on to resolution. I sincerely HOPE no one has intentionally messed with your computer. That would be utterly comtemptable.

Good luck Glitter.

Brian,
DEFINITELY contact the management at Fleetwood Mac. They need to KNOW what has been done to their fans/their customers by people they have hired to represent them.

Brian,
I not a computer wiz so this may seem silly but what were they doing with your bandwidth?

to my bandwidth is that it was used up to the point where my website was offline...I was able to fix the most of the problem an hour after I discovered it, But that never happened until I posted my links "over there"...

I thought it could have been someone directly linking ("hot linking") to my images, But my records seem to prove otherwise...I guess people don't realize having bandwidth issues can be expensive...Brian J.

Thanks for all the kind words. Really, I don't want to spoil things for everybody else. I just want folks to know how things have spun out of control for some of us. It's not worth it anymore. I never would have thought such insane things could happen over a rock band, but money means a lot to some people. Some are willing to lose their integrity over it. Some will do more than that.

All I did was speak my mind over there. I spoke the truth. I asked too many questions. I encouraged others to do the same. Oddly enough, on the day of the sale when it was finally obvious to everyone what was happening, I played a little devil's advocate. I was rude about the sale and lashed out at people whinning for refunds. Guess what? None of the board police said a word. My posts stayed there all day. I was not banned and I was not flamed like I had been when I posted critical views and questions about the fan club. My offensive posts that were pro fan club were not removed. I was not banned for being mean to the people who lost their money. Yet, as soon as I said I agreed that people were screwed, and I posted a poll showing how many fans said they were happy with the fan club (10%), I was banned from the site and my poll was deleted. After I was banned someone started a thread asking why I was banned. There was never a definite answer from an administrator. There was a lot of spin talking about inappropriate posts from people being banned, but never any specifics given. That's because their reasons are baloney. They do not have any criteria for banning. It's done at the whim of the board police. They sure don't apply the same rules to themselves or the folks who agree with them. They must think they're gonna get something for their support. I wonder what that is?

Hello all!

I'm sorry to hear about so many problems going on. That's sad, really. I can't believe how much this has all just gone out of control. :distress:

I'd like to offer some glimmer of hope & sunshine in this whole mess, if I may. The major problem definitely, obviously seems to lie with the whole online thing....."official" websites--well, one in particular.......might I suggest that, in order to preserve any little amount of love for Fleetwood Mac's music that MAY be left, those who are having the most trouble just avoid the online Mac community. Perhaps not The Ledge, if you are still comfortable participating here. But the other "official" websites. It's terrible to have to say this, but it may help make you feel better. Avoid going to them, avoid thinking about them, avoid remembering they even exist. This is what has ruined Fleetwood Mac, their music, this whole new album and concert tour experience, and everything, for most of us-- THE NASTY INTERNET PEOPLE  And I had a feeling something might screw this all up......unfortunately I wasn't proven wrong.

But this would be my offering for part of the solution for right now. Forget about those websites, chat boards, people running them and all the crap......it would serve them right anyway......focus on the music......that is what attracted you to this band in the first place after all, right? A strong connection to their music. Please....enjoy the new album, and I know that most people's tickets aren't what they had imagined (mine included), but enjoy just being there to see & hear them live at the shows.....return to what it USED to be about.......the music. All of the folks that have been fans for decades now are the lucky ones, they were doing it right, there was no "website", no crap, they just paid their 7 bucks or so to see their favorite band live......and there was happiness and a lotta love. Obviously, there is no love (or happiness) for the online community. This just seems to have caused more problems and disappointment. We all might be better off if we just went back to being the "old-fashioned" fan.

Through all the disappointment, I'm still psyched that I've got tickets to see them for the very first time!! Unfortunately, this was cheapened, close to being ruined.....but I'm still hanging on......I won't let this experience be completely destroyed for me!! Please don't let it do that for any of you either.

i've been having probs conntecting to my ISP (dial up) since going over there. I found something on their site that maybe one of you computer geeks  can explain to me. I went to fm.com to listen to SYHA. I clicked on on of the pics of FM on the pop up window that appears and then right clicked on "hear" SYHA. a drop down widow opens and then i clicked "settings" the next thing i see is a window asking if fleetwoodmac.com can access your web cam/microphone whenever they want to. Can someone explain whats going on?

Yeah, I saw the same exact window pop up for me too.
And I have no idea what that's all about either.
Anybody out there that might know and can explain it to us??

Stephanie :)

Yeah, I saw the same exact window pop up for me too.

That is so weird. Do you remember exactly what it said? I don't think that it will even let me go there and see, but, someone who can, it would be good to know exactly what the question was.

the best thing for you guys to do is install ad-aware, you run this thingy every once in a while and it gets rid of all spyware and ****.
you'll be surprised to see how many of those you have installed in your machine. i suppose it should solve the problem.
you can download it here (http://www.webattack.com/get/adaware.shtml)
attention:
if you are dumb enough to use kazaa (instead of kazaa-lite) it may cause problems, coz kazaa is depended on it's spyware components, in that case i suggest you uninstall kazaa, replace it with kazaa-lite, and then run ad-aware.

This is not good, but it's what you get if you trust anything on the Internet is for your benefit. There's usually a hidden agenda for everything. I just don't think we should have to PAY in EVERY WHICH WAY IMAGINABLE and unimaginable for being a Mac fan. What else do we have to suffer? Steal your heart away...my ass. We suffer, too, ya know! Sorry, but I just had to vent on that one. I used to love that song so much.

Guys, I've got to tell you, I'm soooo glad that I didn't join this fan club now after reading these posts. I work from home via the internet and to lose my internet connection. . . not good. It also scares me that someone is so desperate to seek revenge on others because they didn't like what was said about them. And in what was supposed to be a free forum! This is so low. I echo the posters who have said that they would contact Fleetwood Mac's respective management companies. I can't believe that they would sponsor these kinds of acts by someone who is supposed to be representing them.
