I can't help listening to Destiny Rules without making a connection to When I See You Again
If I see you again, will it be the same
Compare those desperate lyrics and Stevie's husky, verge-of-tears strains, with 15 years later:
When I see you again
As I always do
It appears to me that destiny rules
Sounding strong and wise-with-age, Stevie sings about how she has inevitably wound up with Lindsey again, thanks to destiny, and this time even the quality of the music alone tells you its even better the second time around.
I know both songs weren't necessarily written about Lindsey, but in the context of FM albums, I can't help thinking of them this way. Anyone agree? Other thoughts on this great song?
