View Full Version : Where are your seats???

Lets discuss!
Again, Im section 2, row 10, seats 15&16. I used my best friends credit card and now there is so much money charged on it and of course the fan club money. Doesn't seem worth it. How does everyone else feel about their seats and the 200 dollars you had to pay for ONE seat.

Janet
03-13-2003, 12:24 PM
i got on at noon. As soon as it hit noon I started trying but it probably took me 10 minutes.
Im happy about the section...but I wish I was in the first 5 rows. I would have been maybe if I didn't take 10 whole minutes. I am happy though.
I started at 12 because it said on the site to do so. It said 9 all week but I didn't even see the PST part of it!

Janet - I would kill for your seats!! I have been saving for this day for many weeks and now that I have the $$, I can't get a seat!!
I have been trying all morning to get my fanclub ID to work and it won't! The fanclub line is full with messages, so I can't even get through! I am so upset right now . . . .
So much for the Philly show . . .

I'm going to the Nassau Arena show and I got section A1 (which is floor section, Row 37.
Hubby & I are in Section 3, Row 16, seats 5 & 6. I've never been to the First Union Center, & I've never seen the Mac in concert, so I'm excited. I just wanted to get close enough so I wouldn't have to use my glasses or binoculars! I think they're alright. I know they don't give you much time, 2 minutes here, 15 seconds there, 3 minutes there. I was shaking; I was so nervous. I lost one set of tickets in Section 4. Now I'm glad I lost them. I think Section 3 is closer yet.
I just charged them on my charge card. It gets paid when it gets paid. I'm not worried about it. Come on May 19th!

Janet!
You got great seats- way to go!!! Are you in the 6th row then?
I went ahead and tried to get in as a test so I could figure this out now, even though my show in CO has not been announced yet. I tried Staples Center as a test and when I got in which was right at 10 my time (9 pacific) it didn't give a choice of price seats - it was blank and no drop down menu to chose the price. I proceeded and best seat was section 301- I don't think so!!! So I went into another venue and got a bit better but nothing on the floor. I went back to the Staples and this time it worked with the drop down. So thinking I got in right on time, the thing didn't work and I got 301 for a choice, not very happy about that and hope I have better luck in Denver when tix go on sale.
Anyway, congrats. Curious to see how everyone else did!

I'm going to Nassau, and my seat is in section C1, row 22. Not so happy with that, seeing as I logged on right at noon, put my request in and this is the best single seat that showed up.

My tix are all the way across the length of the Staples Center in LA. I was on within 10 seconds of the start of the sale. I don't think there were any floor seats available at all. Guess I'd better buy some binoculars.

That's not bad, that's down front, more ont he left side of the stage. You're still in the first half of the floor.

TM really hurt me today. For whatever reason, when all the other shows changed to "Onsale" at noon, the Worcester show didn't. What I didn't realize till 7 minutes later was that you could click "more info" and that would take you to where you can buy seats. That 7 minute wait cost me some great seats, ended up with Floor 1 row Q (17 from the stage). Great seats to be sure, but what could have been....

That's great Janet...I'm still happy with my ticket, Especially after reading how alot of people in the fan-club feel they "got screwed". I'm glad some of y'all got some decent seats...Personally I wasnt about to pay $60 extra to get 1 seat by joining the "fanclub"...Brian J.

What a joke ! I was on ticketmonster at 9am sharp. Nothing available on the floor. Best available was section 205 - not great.
So, I have wasted 30 minutes on the ticketmonster site, sixty bucks on the fan club - and I am still going to be heading to a scalper with $1000 in my pocket anyway. It was an interesting experiment.

Thanks for letting me know where my seats actually are. I feel better now. :)
At the same time, usually the people who log on for single seats usually get the best that there is to offer for the venue out of the system.
So, if my seat was the best single seat available to someone who logged in immediately when it went online, it makes me angry that most of the people who were promised "exquisite" seats by the fan club (who were likely to buy 2 or more seats, as most people do) were going to be worse off than if they had used the venue presale and saved the fan club membership fee.

Well the Worcester tix did NOT go onsale at 12:00 noon. I kept refreshing the stupid page. I was only looking for one ticket. The best I got was sec 109 BUT they asked for a stupid credit card ID # and I put the wrong card # in. The time was up and I lost that seat. I tried again and got sec 108 row HH. I guess they are OK. I am still going to have to try a $^%#% scalper.

The best section I got at 12:00 when I logged in was section 211 for three seats!! I'm like Sparky - will not be buying them today, and most likely will end up paying top dollar. I am furious about this "fan club" and feel it was all just a ploy to pad Mick's pockets even further.

I think Worcester DID go onsale at noon, however their link didn't change to reflect that. It just said "more info". I didn't think to click it anyway until 12:07, then I got my Section 1, Row Q seat. BTW, I was just checking, floor seats are still available, but not in the closest 3 sections.

What an effing crock of sh#t!!! I have a super-duper fast DSL connection. I kept refreshing the Washington, DC screen until the drop down boxes showed up. I swear I got in there like 3 seconds after 12:00 PM ET on the dot! I NEVER saw anything in the front 3 floor sections. Section 100 and Section 111 kept popping up, as well as seats in the 200's. I kept looking for 2 seats and 1 single seat and everything kept getting further back and higher. I spent about 10 minutes throwing back everything that was coming up and figured I'd wasted enough time already and needed to just buy something. The only floor section I ever saw was Section 4, Row C, so I went for that. At least I'll be on the floor, and fully intend to scope out empty seats up front, 'cause there's always a few....
And WTF is up with the $40 in service charges????

For DC I got section 2 (front & center floor) row T, which I guess is like 20 rows back. But I got them the third time I tried. The first two times crappy upper-level seats came up.
Ticketmaster really pisses me off. When you ask for best available, why can't that just come up?? Obviously it doesn't if the first two times I look for seats 200 level seats come up, but the third time, floor seats come up??? I don't get what their definition of "best available" is!
Janet
03-13-2003, 12:50 PM
It seems like alot of you got screwed.
This fanclub thing won't last I don't think, unless they start offering good seats.
I didn't use it to get AC tickets because I knew with that venue, it wouldn't be worth it. We all know the gamblers get the best seats.
Anusha! I remember you! How are you? Do you remember me??
Anyway...I guess more and more people will say which seats they got.
Im happy with my section, just not the row...

Anybody get decent seats for Cleveland? I've been playing around on ticketmaster for 4 hours now and nothing up close!
Livia
03-13-2003, 12:52 PM
Sometimes you get better seats when you keep trying because people are actually passing them up and throwing them back. Hey, do you happen to know which direction the seat numbers on the floor start at for DC? I've got seats 1 and 2, and I'm hoping those are on the middle aisle, rather than the outside aisle. I hate when they don't put that info on the seating charts!

I feel like an idiot, but I can't tell where my seats are. I'm Section 8 Row 10 for Philly. FM doesn't have a seating chart listed unless I'm missing something. I'm guessing the chart might match the one for the Stones. Anybody know? - JAKE

03-13-2003, 01:03 PM
I would guess that for venues that don't have a "Concert" or "Generic" option on the seating chart, the FM stage is likely to be the "Endstage" option. I wouldn't think that they'd have the Stones setup (after all, they're only charging $150 for the top seats, rather than the $300 face value on the last Stones tour).
Janet -- so nice to be back and to see some familiar faces. I've been good, graduated from school, working in New York. I haven't been around the Ledge much lately, as there wasn't much new news and my office only recently got the internet!!!!!
Sorry to hear about everyone's ticket woes. The thing for me is that I could have gotten seats just five rows back in the venue presales without the $60 membership (granted, I shared the cost, but still), so it embitters me that we've all spent a lot of money to get seats we could have gotten without joining the fanclub. Ugh.
That said, after the rush of seeing them, I bet a lot of us (myself included) will be happy just to have gotten to see them. :)

tried the Ford Center link and found floor section seats still available (I tried it again and was offered ticket FLR5 Row M Seat 9 which is 3 rows behind my seat)...I used "best seat available" instead of "Floor Seat"...

I tried everything. Even single seats. Nothing in the first 20 rows, that's for sure.
I don't believe they have been made available to anyone? A Cleveland radio station is giving away tickets in rows 1, 2 and 3. So obviously those didn't go to the fan club members.

Maybe I shouldn't complain, cause I did get a seat, but THIS SUCKED!!!!!!
I got 2 seats to COLUMBUS, 14th row center.....but we paid almost $400 to get these TWO seats via the FANCLUB....there is something wrong with this system.....and NOTHING was open for the shows near my hometown.....I don't even know if I am going to go to Columbus....should probably just sell them and make a TON of money for them to buy better seats to the shows near me.
And what makes me want to VOMIT is that ticketbrokers are already selling seats from the fanclub on ebay for almost $450 per ticket......and not even in the first 10 rows.
I HATE THIS TOUR ALREADY.

on Mick's website that someone stated there were "possible" problems with the presale for fanclub members because a scalper/broker could easily use the system to their advantage...And it seems that eBay might prove that...I hope that isnt true. Brian J.

DITTO!!!! My seats are in the loge almost as far away from the stage as you can get. I was on the site at almost exactly 9:00am, so I have no clue WTF is going on..... Maybe the FM Fan Club thinks it better to use binoculors in the back of the arena than have to stand on the floor behing someone who's 6'10". But I'm 6'4", so it wouldn't have been a biggie for me......

I just got DSL, kept refreshing the screen until "on sale" showed up, and I'm in section 101, row CC. I am so disappointed. It's hard to believe that this is the "best 20%" of seats at the venue. (Not only that -- it's not the best place in Chicago for a concert!)
I had better seats for "the Dance", when I just stood in line at a ticketmaster outlet.
I was just playing around to see what seats are left at the Philly Show, & there are still floor seats available in Section 5. I did it three times & Section 5 keeps coming up. It's not real close, but it is the floor.

Hi! I got tickets today for my husband who was on a plane at noon and couldn't do the tickets himself. He is a huge FM fan and I was so excited to get the Fan Club tickets for him because they were supposed to be awesome seats.
I'm with the other people who were going for Worcester tix and were having problems logging on. I don't think I got on til 12:07...I was practically having a panic attack! "Why isn't this working!!"
And then I ended up with Sec. 108 Row F!! Only went for 2 tickets and supposedly the double letter seats are in front of the single letter seats!!
I'm sure that the seats will be fine but I had it worked out with my husband that if I got Floor seats, we'd take row 15 and lower and I actually thought that would happen!
Am I naive or what? What do the ticket agencies know that we dont?

I guess I got really lucky. I got on the floor sect. 1 row 10 seat 50 in the Allstate Arena for the Chicago show, so just 10 rows from the stage! I don't know where seat 50 is, but I was ecstatic with row 10. Then I bought a second one and again got a floor seat in sect. 3 row 23, which still is pretty good.

Meh. I'm not too thrilled with the way I spent that $60, but I guess I was luckier than some. I got 2 tix (Hey, Neil! :wavey: )for Pittsburgh in what seems to be the lower bowl (The Igloo Club section?). I tried for the floor, but all that ever came up was the last floor section. Grrr.
I got 11th row for Columbus. I think it was easier there because I was only getting 1 ticket.
I've definitely gotten better seats through regular public sales. The way they pounded into our brains how wonderful these seats were, I was expecting better. And if I was someone whose pre-sale started earlier, I'd be majorly pissed off right now.
Out of major curiosity, I'm going to logon for both of these shows when the public sale starts just to see what kind of seats come up. If they are better than this, then I'm saying to hell with the pre-sale for the next show I buy tickets for.

I actually didn't do too bad with Cleveland. I (thankfully) logged onto TM this morning at about 9:10 and after constantly throwing back a bunch of crappy seats, I ended up with section 1 row N. I guess 14th row isn't too bad especially after hearing what everyone else got!

No seats for us. Tried for the Meadowlands and 9 am and then for about 25 minutes starting at 11:58 am. That I saw, not a single seat was ever available at this venue. This is on a high speed connection too.
I have not been anxious to post tour dates all over The Penguin as I think the whole process is quite confusing with differing venue presale, fan club presale, and general public selling dates for each show. It is not surprising to me that there will be A LOT of angry fans...and a lot of happy scalpers.

just seems to have sucked for everybody, almost.
I was lucky- Luke pulled up a pair of front row center seats for us in Columbus. Front row- opening night- it's amazing.
As much as I'm crapping my pants in joy over this, I feel terrible for everyone that didn't have the same luck.
It seems like for every pair of front row tickets that went to fans or board members, three or four went to scalpers, as you can see now on eBay. This is vastly depressing.
(but I'm still skipping in joy.)

A full blown fiasco, but I can't say I didn't expect it. As usual, I will sit in the first two rows at one show somewhere. And as usual, I will pay a scalper, um, I mean, ticket agency, 4-500 bucks for the seat. Nothing new.
I have never been able to get a ticket from Ticketmonster that was in the first 15 rows of the floor. Not waiting in line, not on the computer. I have heard about people getting those seats. It happens with the frequency of people seeing bigfoot. In fact, I have heard more people saying they have seen UFO's than people saying they got great seats from Ticketmonster.
Kudos to anyone who got to participate in a "venue presale."
Never heard of such a thing, and maybe that makes me even more of a chump than giving Mick Fleetwood 60 bucks.
Frankly, ever since the advent of Ticketmonster, I have become more and more convinced that the good seats go directly from Ticketmonster to the the scalpers, oops, I mean Ticket Agencies.
In the good old days, a scruffy teen like myself could wait all night in line and be guaranteed a great seat. But then, that was 1980, and tickets were 13 bucks. They have since gone up in price 1000%.
Funny, that. What else has gone up 1000% in twenty years ? Venue rental prices ? Trucking ? Gas ? Hotels ? Food ? The salaries of employees at concert venues ? Nope.
What is wrong with this picture ?
Thankfully, I can afford to pop 800-1000 bucks every time one of these tours happens. That doesn't mean I don't resent it.
I am very glad to be an adult with a great job. I am also very glad I am not a scruffy teenager trying to get a great seat to a show with the money I can barely scrape together. Because today that kid has a very slim chance of getting what he wants. If any chance at all.

Hey, Neil! We'll be "crappy seat mates." LOL Well, I'm always happy to meet Ledgies, we'll have fun. Do you happen to know which end of the row the seat numbers begin? I'm not a fan club member so I got tickets when they went on sale.
For Cleveland I got Section 4 floor seats 2 tickets. I was so excited when they came up I just accepted these.
For Chicago I bought 3 tickets and the first time I got section 114 at the back of the arena 1st level. There was no way I was going to pay $400 for the back. Then I tried cheaper tickets and got section 202. Not good enough. I tried the $125 again and this time I got section 103 row M. These were much better than the first set I was offered. Even though these are to the side of the stage, they are closer than the end of the arena.
I'm happy with the tickets and the fact that I will be seeing them twice this tour!!

Section 114, Row 13, Seats 12/13
Looks to be awesome seats, even though it is not on the floor. There weren't any more floor tickets available. I got these today at the public sale, because my password was invalid for the presale.
I think I am actually happy that it was invalid - these tickets look to be much better than alot of those sold during the presale. I would really be upset to have bought floor seats in the way back thinking that they were in the "best 20%" of those available during the presale!!

Wow I haven't posted here in a while.
Anyways I got tickets for the Chicago show. And man I really hate ticketmaster! I love using two browsers. Of course you only have 2 minutes to process the page..bogus! What happened to the 5 minute thing? I had to type like a monkey on crack! (not that I know what that is like).
So after a half hour of getting rid tickets from the section 114, 115, 116, and even Section 2 on the Floor (I so would have gotten those but couldn't even remember my password and then by the time Ticketmaster emailed it to me, I lost the tickets!) BOO! )
Anyways I finally got section 104 Row L. It's not bad. It's at the side of the stage so I am excited since it's closer than being in boo foo.

I haven't posted here in a very long time. I went to Ticketmaster.com at 10:05 this morning and was looking for 1 ticket to the Chicago show. I got section 2, row 20, seat 3. I think that's about half way back on the floor. I was pretty happy with that as I didn't think I'd even get on the floor. Some friends of mine, who were looking for 4 tickets, got section 114 - completely opposite the stage. Their tickets actually cost a little more than mine because they could only be shipped UPS. I was surprised that tickets that far back cost $125. This will be my first Fleetwood Mac concert and I am soooo excited! I also plan on seeing them at Summerfest in Milwaukee. I keep checking that website, but still no word from Summerfest that Fleetwood Mac will be playing there. Does anyone know anything about that?

I'm going to the Chicago show. I logged on to the pre-sale right at 11am local time and got two Section 4, row 7 seats. About a minute later I got Section 4, row 2 seats. Main floor, but at the very back of the floor. Hope I can see!!!
Now I've got to get rid of the two extra tickets.
