View Full Version : Stevie looks great with freezy hair, but...

Ok, So I just have seen what it is supposed to be the SYW cover. And Stevie looks great, as she looked great in the Dance cover, and in the R.S. magazine cover from 1997.
But on stage and shows she still is in his classic haircut, the same look I think since the Street Angel days. Why? She looks great with freezy hair (slightly freezy, not exagerated as in Tango or OTOTM).
I know photos are a bit touched, but.. is that the reason? Would she look fat with freezy hair on stage?

Not being insulting, Villavic, but do you mean "frizzy" hair?
Sorry, but I am getting this image of Stevie with her head in the freezer! LMAO!!
As to why she doesn't seem to want ot wear it frizzy or curly on stage, I guess she likes a cleaner, more toned down hairstyle for performing.
I just want to see her in some new clothes.....oh no, not That debate again! haha!!

I think that is either a great wig in that picture or computer enhanced hair. Look at the way it sort of defies gravity, etc. Whatever it is, it looks great. And . . . is she wearing pants? It is hard to tell!

Yeah, it looks like some kind of pants with a fitted, period-looking longer jacket over them. Either that, or a longer, straighter skirt.
It is sort of bugging me that she is so laced up and buttoned down, and Lindsey is loose and casual. He looks so yummy, but they don't "match" too well. It's like she is dressed formally, and he is all kicking back and chillin'. I still love it, though.
It could be her own hair. She has lots of it, and she used to get it pretty big in the 80's. it's still so hard to tell from such a small picture, (not that the Cd will be much bigger). Oh, how i long for the days of big ol' LP's!
At least she's not wearing that damn uniform black dress! lol!

Well, don't forget Fleetwood Mac never ever matched. Stevie always jokes about how they all look like they're going to different places -- specifically the Rosebud interview. Lindsey "Chinese'd out in his kimono" (aren't kimonos a Japan thing?), Stevie's going to a Halloween party, Chris is gonna be confirmed in a church, Mick's going to a Renaissance fair, and Mick's going to the beach! I think that's hilarious, I love that interview.

As much as I'd love to see the curls onstage....
Didn't Stevie say somewhere that her hair has been damaged from all the perms, etc.? Maybe that's why she doesn't wear any elaborate styles on stage...I mean, night after night of curling irons, hot rollers, hairspray, blow dryers, etc. etc. etc. can take it's toll. lol!
Maybe she's worried her hair would fall out. A straight, long-haired Stevie is better than a bald-headed Stevie, I think.

I mentioned this awhile back in another post. When Stevie lived in Atlanta for awhile, she had her hair done at a salon called Key Lime Pie. I talked by chance (I swear ;) ) with the guy that did it. he said she was really nice, but liked to complain about traffic in Atlanta (her hotel, the Four Seasons, of course (puff puff) is right in the middle of a heavily traveled area of Midtown. He also said she was pretty much grey and liked to drink exotic hot teas. How cool is that!!!!!

Oops, not all of my post made it in!!!!
He also said she had alot of her, but would not tell me if it was all her own or if some of it was extensions. She surely has worn them before (See the Sorcer video) and I am convinced that get up in the late 80's was a wig!!!!
Stevie has "freezy" hair (hee hee) in the pics on the Mark & Brian thread over on Rumors. Yuk. I think it does make her look heavier. I do love our Stevie regardless of what she looks like, but I like her hair the way she had it before alot better. Whatever...

personally, i would like her to do something with her hair....she doesn't have to have it "frizzy" but something other than the straight blonde look. i'm a little tired of that. i think she should go back to the japan budokan 1977 look!!! hahaha!!!;)

I saw the picture too. It looks like she got a perm. It has this very "80ish" look to it. I think I liked it better straight.

I have seen a couple of her performances recently with her straight hair, but I think the big hair fits her perfectly, besides, is there anything that Stevie Nicks can really do badly (ignoring the drug problem).
i actually kind of like her hair in those photos...maybe a little tweaking here and there would even be better...it's just got a little more character than the straight hair. i think the curly it compliments her face. i don't think she'll keep it that way on the tour though....too much work and, subsequently, a lot more damage. i wish she would go with a looser curl or wave. i thought her hair looked great on the black and white street angel promo poster. i'll try to post it if i can find a copy....
I hate to break the news kids but most of Stevie's hair these days is false. She wears a three-quarter wiglet that is woven into her existing hair and sits slightly forward of the crown. If you look carefully, it is possible to determine where the join is.
If she was to ditch the extensions, you would find that her own hair was not nearly as dense and would only be shoulder length.
strandinthewind, you are quite correct - Stevie began to go grey in the late 1980's and by the time of the Behind The Mask Tour in 1990, she was having full head tints to cover the offending streaks.
Whilst Stevie is no stranger to wigs (she wore a myriad of them during the early 1990's) I don't believe she has donned one for the cover of "Say You Will". She has simply had her normal hair (the aforementioned combination of real and false) set in curls and then splayed out behind her as she lays across the floor.
As for the recent Mark & Brian appearance, her hair does appear to be permed but I'm hoping to god that it's only been set and is not permanent. Even though it is of no major consequence how she appears physically, I have to admit she looked atrocious - extremely heavy and positively middle-aged. She really does need to get in shape, especially with a tour approaching.
Of course, it is highly likely that she continues to have her hair permed in order to achieve a certain degree of body and then just blow-dries it straight most of the time. Contrary to popular belief, Stevie's straight, sleek style does require a great deal of time and effort to perfect. It is always set in large rollers and then eventually backcombed out to retain fullness. Personally, I prefer Stevie's hair with less volume and to be ultra sleek. I dislike it intensely with curls, especially when just the side sections have been hot-rollered. Yuck!

WHAT IS IT with all of you people that CLAIM that Stevie wears a WIG??? I am serisouly all set.....lol.....what is this based on?? And how is it that you know that underneath it her real hair is shoulder length??? Good god....yeah, the wavy permed look is not a good one.....but I for one thing believe that most, if not ALL of her hair is her own.

LOL...I was just wondering the same thing! I was like...uh did I miss something...like it's common knowledge that Stevie wears wigs or something...this thread is actually the first I've heard of that....I'm not saying that makes it untrue...I'd just like a source...like where did this info come from??

By order of Sulamith, I am no longer allowed to say the word "wig!!!" (he says with tongue firmly in cheek!!!!)
   :) :D :wavey:
I agree, who cares; I like their music no matter what they look like. But, given the many, many discussions involving this topic over the years, people, myself included, apparently like to talk about the appearance of the band for whatever reason and in every regard (age, clothes, hair, weight, etc.) - esp. regarding that of Stevie and apparently LB given a similar discussion on the LB board at this very minute.

It sorta has that Street Angel tour look a little, & even some of that Tusk tour look, too. I'm not only glad to see something a little different from the past seven years (since 1996) but I like that look in & of itself. I like it when Stevie looks less like somebody's sister & more like a hip, nutty rock star.

Hey, strandinthewig, oh, I mean WIND, cough, SORRY! haha!!
I gues you can say wig, because geez everyone is certainly fixated athe moment!
I said in the picture thread that I didn't mind her hair curly, or even kind of ratty, but the side part just ain't doin' it for me. I hate it parted on the side like that!
As for extensions, weaves, blah, blah, who cares?
Most of the actresses these days have them, including the very young ones, so what's the problem?
It's not like she's bald or anything.
I did think that dress was terrible.
But I LOVE me some Stevie, I do!

LMFAO!!!!!!!
Thanks Brian, I needed that!

Maybe it's because I live too close to Texas...but I kind of like "big hair" Stevie! I thought she looked fine in the radio show pics...I mean, not all made up like...but hey...can't expect her to look glamorous all of the time...I hope she does keep her hair big and frizzy...I'm sort of tired of the straight look with bangs...she needs to shake things up....but hey...she can shave her head really...and I'd be cool...I just wanna hear her sing...that's the most important aspect of Stevie IMO...

"too close to Texas
Stevie's got big hair-air-air..."
I live IN Texas and I DON'T like her hair in those pics! LOL I CAN however sympathize with the whole crimping aspect of her hair in that one pic Brian put up there...cuz I used to crimp my BANGS ONLY..that's right folks, I was a wierd teenager, just like EVERYONE ELSE was!!:laugh:
Thanks Brian (for your post above) LOL! Love the pics~~~Stevie looked great with a perm in the 80's, but once the 90's hit, well, I don't think so.

Stevie has always had really thick hair. I don't believe for one minute she wears extensions. Except for the obvious effect, like in the Sorcerer video or something.
I remember it was so humid in Cleveland for the TISL show that her hair was getting bigger and poofier every minute. Just like my thick hair does in the heat.

How about if she got a Mullet? I bet that would be ultra cool! Mullets rule! Think about it...Short on top, long and frizy in the back! radical!

She needs to leave the bangs straight. Once those get poufed, it's all over.
Think of the interviews in her BTM where here hair is long and has beautiful waves but it's in control, and SHINY, and the bangs are straight.
See? In this pic it works, she looks very sexy;).

So? Most of Elton John's hair is a weave too and you're not posting about his baldie little bean. :D And yah! Just how do you know this about Stevie's hair or lack thereof anyway? ;) She's going to SH*T if she gets wind of this! The next Rumour to get started over here is that the wigs are made from her underarm hair that she grows out between albums.
