Hey everybody!

I have a question. I was planning on flying out to see the Mac in the Big Apple since they aren't coming to Canada, but I've noticed that the tour dates don't actually include a show IN New York City, instead there's one in Uniondale, NY, at Nassau Coliseum, which is about an hour train ride from Manhattan plus a bus ride, then there's the show at Meadowlands in East Rutherford and which looks equally as far, and to be quiet honest if I'm going to NYC I don't want to spend an entire day of that in New Jersey or Long Island y'know?

Does anyone know how long it takes to get to these places from the city or whether you think it's likely they'll as a show at Madison Square Garden or something like that?

Cheers

Each venue is about 45min-1 hour from the city by bus. However, during the past three tours (Shrangi-la, Enchanted, and The Dance) Stevie and the Mac added an NYC show (Madison Sq Garden/Radio City) at the END of the tour. I would bet the same will happen again. At least, that's what I am counting on.

Well, I'm waiting for info on the NY City show also. According to the tour itenerary NYC fell between Boston and Nashville. Both of these shows have dates. Boston on 5/27 and Nashville on 5/31. That leaves a few open days between. I'm thinking that NYC will be on the 29th and maybe they haven't worked out all the details with the venue. I hope so anyway.

I am hoping the same thing. It is truly a pain in the a$$ to be going to Nassau Coliseum.. especially since I don't have a car. I was really surprised that they didn't have a listing for the Garden..you would think they would definitely want to hit that venue. Hopefully they will add it later on(keeping fingers crossed!)

You could spend the entire day in Manhattan and jump in a 15 minute cab ride, maybe $25 out to the Meadowlands - it's only 5 miles west of the Lincoln Tunnel/midtown Manhattan. You could also take a $5 bus ride from the Port of Authority bus terminal on 42nd St. The Nassua Coliseum is another story - much further away. You are definitely overestimating the Meadowlands distance from NYC, but I can understand not wanting to spend a day in NJ - I've spent a lifetime here! I am just upset that it seems almost everyone out there are shooting for NJ/NY tickets out of the 600 seat fanclub pool.

Ok so E Rutherford is pretty easy to get to from Manhattan. I am most likely going to be in NYC that weekend and I really want to go to see the NJ show. I am going to take a cab or car service to get there. I just have to persuade my friend to come to the show in NJ with me.

Sorry to be a wet blanket but I don't want any stranded out of towners.
I don't drive--so I know my public transportation within the city. And I also know NY cab drivers.
If you are taking public transportation out to Rutherford or Nassau Colliseum--make sure whatever mode of transport you choose is still running after the concert! You'd be surprised at how many have a last bus out and such and such an hour and you are stuck with nothing.
Also, I find it very hard to believe that a cab ride to NJ is going to end up costing $25. I've traveled very short distances within the city and paid a lot of money. I would probably suggest shopping around for a cab service, if that's what you want to do, and try getting a flat rate. And again--check that ride back.
Good luck (and--nope, I'm not attempting those two concerts at all!)

Bella & Joe,

Wow we must all live pretty close - I am originally from Kingston, NY - I am still there quite a bit as my family lives there. I am now in Binghamton.

And Joe-------ah yes, good ol' Newburgh!!!!!!!!

Thanks Regina for your input. :) I was in NYC on Valentine's/President's Day weekend. We had such a hard time getting a cab or car service anywhere that weekend. It was a nightmare. It took us about 45 minutes to go from the East Village to The Rainbow Room. I really wish they would add MSG on May 24th.

I think it'll happen. But if it doesn't, I don't know if I can wait till the end of the tour...I'm willing to go to Worcester.

Sonia, FM will probably do the Hartford Civic Center as well...I'm also thinking of heading up to Worcester myself again.

Hi Joe, Hi Goldie, yes I am a fellow Orange Countyite!!! Actually I was born in the Bronx, raised in Rockland and now live in Orange County...by the time I retire I should be up by the Canadian border

We're close enough to most venues to drive so we'll get to the concerts but far away enough to empathize with those who won't be able to go orwho sacrifice to travel a long distance to see our favorite band...

did either of you go the Stevie's last Enchanted concert at Woodstock??? wouldnt' it be great if FM played that venue???

wow!!! that's pretty cool Bella...we've probably seen each other and don't even know it!!! lol =)
anyway, no, i didn't go to the Woodstock show. I spent all my money going to the PNC, Hartford, and Radio City shows that i was all tapped out.

I'm hoping that they'll play the Meadows Music Theater in Hartford...it's a pretty nice drive on rt.84 and it's a nice, newer ampitheater.

Hey Evan it's Jared from the forums.

I am taking my twin brother to a FM show but we can't decide which one to do eitehr Buffalo or the NYC/NJ dates.

Does anyone know which one is the best one and the easiest to get to from Ottawa Ontario Canada.

I was thinking Amtrak but Tiffany said it was 2 $$$ although they do have the 2 for 1 offer still going on. At least I think they do.

There is greyhound.

Is there a late eough bus/train to get us abck to Canada? Or should I be looking for a palce to crash at or a hotel?

Also what section will the 125 prices be and the 70 and the 40
