I just saw that beautiful press photo of FM and Lindsey looks amazing. He looks just stunning. Man, the years have been good to him!!!!!
But then there is the wedding band. I was one of those S/L people who really wanted the two together, and they look so hot together, but there is that ring, screaming at us that hes a happily married man. GREAT. I am happy for that,
but...
Its just like, man, this sinking sad feeling. This tour will NOT be the same as the Dance tour was to me...and it will be sad almost each night.
I am a sad, pathetic person. Maybe if I was married Id not feel this way, but Im a hopeless romantic * keyword:hopeless*

I think you'll be happily surprised Janet...I have a feeling this tour may well be their best ever, specifically because of Lindsey's (relatively) new situation. I think he will be more focused than ever, and deliver the best performances of his life.
And don't forget, at the end of the day, "the show must go on": i.e. it's Stevie and Lindsey's job to make you believe that it's the very day that they broke up each and every time they sing (or shout!) "And if you don't love me now, you will never love me again" to each other on stage.;)

I believe that Lindsey and Stevie are happy with their chosen paths and I STILL think they will scream and give each other "looks" on stage. That fire between them will NEVER die..IMO. It's gonna be SOOOOOOOO exciting to see what this tour brings...even tho it seems like everything is disappointing some...the album title, the pics, the wedding band (LOL). It doesn't bother me about the wedding band..makes Lindsey MORE sexy to me because he's COMMITTED to ONE woman and has two GORGEOUS kids!! As long as Lindsey is happy, YAY!!:D I'm just happy that Lindsey (and John and Mick) don't have to resort to groupies any longer (at least I PRAY not!! ) because after I saw that lady on Insomniac with Dave Attell, I wanted to BLOW CHUNKS! She claims to have been with TONS of rock stars...including Lindsey and John...just looking at this woman made me lose my lunch.

You know what Janet, this tour WILL NOT be like the Dance! It could be even better, because really it's going to be just THEM up there and like Stevie said recently you can't just pretend that their relationship never happened. They are still going to be at it hammer and tongs when they sing Silver Springs and we as fans won't expect anything less than their best effort, wedding ring or not! I'm also thinking that the whole BN/30 something years in the music business thing together, will be very important to them both and it will show up not matter what! .:)

Hmm... maybe Lindsey and Stevie will just focus on the music. Perhaps we should follow suit.

Sure, but if you're going to focus on the music, you can't ignore what a great deal of the music is about, or the circumstances under which it was written. Well, I take that back, I guess you can if you really want to, but then you're definately missing something.

Damn you and your impeccable logic! I guess I'm just kind of sick of that very, very old story. But, hey, who cares what I think? Sometimes not even I do.

I must be in the teensy-weensy minority of the audience for the reunion tour that didn't really register the hugging & kissing onstage as anything more than just friendship & show. I watched em closely many a time back when they were not friends, on all those old tours, & I think my permanent impression was really cemented at that point---she in her own little world & he being bandleader & musical director & getting into it the most during the jams with the rhythm section (that's when his face truly lit up). There was very little interaction between those two, typically, probably because Stevie couldn't see very well & was always trying to focus so intently on her fans in the front rows & Lindsey often seemed embarrassed about positioning himself too close to the flapping chiffon wings.
With "The Dance," the whole Barbara Cartland thing with the fans just seems so amusingly foreign.

I agree, SmthngOfADreamr. The emotional baggage behind all of these songs are part of what make them have so much meaning to me. It is a big reason why I feel so connected to these people. They aren't perfect. They have made mistakes. But they are still connected to each other...the feelings are still there. Maybe not in the same way they once were, but they're still there, all the same. But if that were suddenly gone, IMO, then listening to their music would sort of be like listening to The Eagles, or Genesis, or Creed, or whoever. True, those people have talent...and although I do have *some* of their work, I don't own all their music and I never will, and I will never post on a message board about them, or spend over $500 on two tickets just to see them. That connection just isn't there.

Hey, why all the focus on Lindsey's crumbcrunchers? :)!
What about Stevie's howlin' yappers?
I could go for a song called "Sulamith, Everybody Finds Out About The Carpet at the MGM Grand".
They little guys were trying to sing backup, you know!
lol!

Janet - I was thrown down into a tailspin when I saw that gold band on Lindsey's finger...on his left hand.... (How's that for a music montage??) I feel sad in a weird way that he is all married now and there is Stevie standing next to him and she's not the one he's married to. I still hope they can give us some Silver Springs moments on this tour...I wonder if it give us the same feelings????????
Having said all that, I am just glad they are still making music together. Makes my life better!!

Jeeeesus, people!! Do you think that maybe Lindsey is married and Stevie isn't because he's less insufferable than she is? Get over it already.
[I mean no disrespect, of course.]

Where do I sign up?
Seriously though, it's really cool that Lindsey's happily married and has a family now... and it's also cool that Stevie is happy doing her thing, while remaining single. She doesn't seem preoccupied with the notion that one has to be partnered in order to be validated as a person, and I have a lot of respect for that.
At any rate, I think that whatever chemistry Lindsey & Stevie have always shared, will still be there on that stage for this tour.
Single or married, there seems to be an interesting spark between them which lends itself to the music, and vice versa... and I doubt that will ever change.

Oh mercy, there has been WAY too humorous posts here lately... Keep it up!!
I think Lindsey is VERY open to having his wife/kids in the studio with him. That pic of him with lil Will with the headphones on is TOO CUTE!!! I hope he teaches that kiddo how to play guitar early on so he can be a pro just like DAD!! :D YAY to Kristen for not being some jealous witch who is bitter about Lindsey and Stevie's relationship!! I like her, from what I saw on Lindsey's BTM...she seems down to earth and supportive...how a wife should be, IMO.

I agree with that!
I think Linds and Stevie's relationship scarred them both for life, and left them enough pain to last them another dozen albums and tours at least. Sure, they're both over it in their lives, but start that music, and boy, it stirs up that emotion in them and re-opens the wounds if they're breaking up all over again each time they step on stage (hopefully into the studio too). You gotta love it. Stop the music, and it's back to their lives, back to having been over each other for years.
The magical chemical reaction that happens is triggered by the music. Like some musical genius said, music rings truer to things inside than speech. It's the same reason a song can make you cry where if you just heard or saw the words it wouldn't do a thing for you. The same reason a song from some past time in your life can flood you with emotion and conjure up the same image every time you hear it.
I think we can be guaranteed plenty of Silver Springs moments on this tour, and if Kristin is smart (and I think she is), she'll be smiling and applauding again because she's married to a man who has a real connection to his own emotions, and the most beautiful way of expressing them.

I know this is kinda off topic since this is the Lindsey forum, but...
Wondergirl got me thinking about how Kristin seems like a good wife for Linds...I kinda want Stevie to get a man like that! Someone who's really down to earth and supportive and beautiful and treats her well. Too bad men can't get pregnant though, :distress:.... hehe:D.
