View Full Version : Complete Track list??

Hi everyone. I found this on WinMx while I was looking to see if anything new was leaked. It seems that someone has every song from the new album, but don't get too excited yet. I tried to download a couple but there doesn't seem to be any audio. Still the track list seems authentic enough, so here is what I found:

Bleed to Love Her
Come
Destiny Rules
Everybody Finds Out
Goodbye Baby (The tower????)
Illume
Miranda
Murrow Turning Over in His Grave
Peacekeeper
Red Rover
Running Through the Garden (Hurray!!!!!)
Say Goodbye
Say You Will
Silver Girl
Smile At You (Yippeee!)
Steal Your Heart Away
Thrown Down
What's the World Coming To

And that's 18 just like were supposed to get. Anyone else come across these, and if you have, did you have any luck getting them with audio?

I found "Say You will' on there downloaded and burned it then nothing ugh!

Hmmm..this is interesting...how cool would it be if that was really it? Smile at You...OMG...but Running Through the Garden...that is out of left field for sure...but still cool...I guess we will know soon enough :)

Hmm - I think Paleshadow should've posted that along with a big grain of salt! It's interesting to entertain speculation though...

Has anyone ever heard of Destiny Rules, Everybody Finds Out, or Silver Girl? Destiny Rules has got to be a Stevie Song judging by the title alone, but the other two could be either I suppose. Oh yeah, and what about What's the world Coming To?

Phil
02-03-2003, 08:52 AM
SmthngOfADreamr, I know that "Silver Girl" and "Destiny Rules" are both Stevie songs because they were copyrighted under her name in the last 12 months.
Whilst the inclusion of "Goodbye Baby" and "Smile At You" would be cause for celebration, the possible omission of "Down On Rodeo" already has me crying into my beer. DownOnRodeo, surely you co-commiserate? Please don't let this be so! I need this to be on the album if only so I can hear Stevie harmonise with Lindsey during the choruses. Out of all the "GOS" songs, this one was custom made for the two of them to sing together.

CarneVaca

If this is accurate, I see some serious omissions here -- Down on Rodeo, Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind and Gift of Screws to name a few.

Also, Mick intimated that one of the Stones covers would be on the album, but clearly it's not on this track list.

I fear this may well be the real track list, since these things always seem to leak out. If so, I am going to reserve judgement until I hear the thing. But I will grieve over the omissions.

Looks pretty good. That would be so great if a version of "The Tower" were included. That's one of my favorite demos.
But I would be heart-broken if "Down on Rodeo" were left off. That is such a gorgeous song... One of Lindsey's best, IMO. And more than any of the other GOS demos, it has "Fleetwood Mac" written all over it.

I'll add some more thoughts. (Oh, boy!)

Starting the album with Bleed to Love Her, though a great song, would be unbelievably anti-climactic. It's a slow number and to top it off, it's already been out there. If Come is the second song of the album, as that track list appears to indicate, that is unquestionably one of worst track-listing strategy bloopers that I have ever seen. Like or dislike Come, it simply is not a song with mass appeal. Come is a deep cut and shouldn't be anywhere near the top. Now, "hear" me out folks:

You know when you go to one of those online record stores? They usually have snippets of the first five songs. Let's say you're a marginal fan and you probably own Rumours and the Dance. You click on the first song, Bleed to Love Her, and you say, "Hey, I have this song already." Then you click on Come, and you say, "Say what!!? What the devil!??" I don't know the next three songs on the list, so I can't comment. But unless they blow you away (which if Thrown Down and Say You Will provide any indication, I have my doubts), you're done. Kiss off that sale.

Also it perturbs me, if this list is right, that some of the best rockers are left out: Gift of Screws, Deep Dense and Twist of Fate.

I mean, WHAT THE PLUCK!? Are they going for the Mirage and Tango formula of one true rocker and a bunch of well-crafted pop songs that will became as dated as my Members Only jacket in three years?

Having said that, I'll be at the record store at 8:55 a.m. April 15 to pick up my copy. "Hello, boss? Yeah, uh, not feeling too good today. I have A MAC ATTACK!"

Well as far as I am concerned this still is a rumour. Or should I say I hope so? Could this be true...? Bleed to love her must not be there. It's a 1997 release and therefore has no place on the new album. Same thing with Steal your heart away which was released on a Best buy thing or so. After such a long time coming up with bread from yesterday would be weak.
Just another thought- Miranda in my opionion is the worst one on GOS. And this should make it on the album? Hardly to believe... Well we'll see.

Christopher

Yeah, Im not holding my breath on this list too much.....
If this were true, I echo everyones disapointment with not seeing "Down on Rodeo" or my personal fave "Gotta get away"...plus I also think its crazy to re-release - even if its the studio version- Bleed to love her & Steal your heart away"

BUT the inclusion of Stevies' "Smile at You" & "Goodbye Baby" (possibly the Tower???) and even "Running through the garden" ( always thought this song ROCKED!! and should have made it on Rock A Little) ...seems too good to be true......could this list be some fans personal DREAMWISH????

I think this is the real tracklist. I just posted my reason for thinking this in the other "win mx" thread, but I'll say it again here. Prior to the release of potentially "big" albums, it is standard procedure for the record company to flood all major P2P systems with looped and blank versions of every song on the tracklist, in order to minimise the chances of people obtaining the songs in advance and trying to sell them for huge prices on Ebay etc etc What it also does is minimise the number of people who will make the entire album on CD-R for themselves, rather than buying it (before and after the release date.) - although once the album is released the real unlooped/not-blank tracks will inevitably be distributed via such programmes.

It is a very good plan by the record companies, but what it has done in effect is give us a confirmed tracklist!

And looking down that list I see that the only two songs that I REALLY wanted to be there, ARE BOTH there!, well......this has made my WEEK!!!!!!:blob1::blob2::woohoo::blob1::blob2:

If this is the set list and I know of nothing to say it is not, I can't complain about Steal Your Heart Away as it was advertised in 1997 as from the forthcoming Lindsey Buckingham CD. As we know that CD became the new Fleetwood Mac Album. The best buy CD was meant to be promotional CD. I just can't think anyone thought it would take 6 years to get the finished product....The songs included are some of the most obvious non-traditional Fleetwood Mac songs from the leaked Gift of Screws tracks. Would have loved to have seen Down on Rodeo and Twist of Fate, but this does leave some great Buckingham tunes in the vault to show up somewhere in the future.

I know the GOS songs, but I haven`t heard any of the Stevie songs/demos you all are talking about, nor do I know every songname. I only count 8 LB songs from GOS plus Peacekeeper. Which one is Nr 9 then, if there is a number 9...? Or maybe it's a GOS one with different name...? Can you sort it out by naming the titles you know being SN songs?

OK I didn't remark earlier about the absence of Down On Rodeo because I didn't take the list seriously.

Now I've read what you guys are saying, this seems to be the real list.

Phil, Carne, blinker, Christopher, JohnRun - it's been nice knowing you all, but I fear my time is up!

(a) becuase the song is not on the album (and even if released on a Lindsey solo - thats so far off in the distance) and
(b) it's MY NAME!! I always laughed to myself that if the song wasn't on this new album, my name wouldn't make much sense!

Well now I'm freakin out!

But in seriousness - I'm not about to change my name: We all KNOW the song, we LOVE it, and the point in the end is we HAVE it, Stevie or not. I join you all in not knowing WHAT they were thinking, but... we have it nonetheless.

That said, if this is the real list, it aint bad at all. Cept ol Miranda. But she'll grow on me, I'm sure.
And 'What is the world coming to' sounds so dydactic like its Grandpa Buckingham and Ma Nicks - but I'm sure the song will be more than likeable..

So, in many ways, this is the death of Down On Rodeo. So long!

We were all gone, far gone...... down on Rodeo..

sniff
:distress:  :D

I don't know if this list is valid or not, but "What is the World Coming to?" is registered at the U.S. Copyright office as a song co-written by Julian Raymond & Lindsey Buckingham. Julian Raymond is a producer who has worked with Cheap Trick and others.

Well, I guess when the project goes from a 23 song DOUBLE CD down to a 19 track single CD, then down to 18...there are a few songs that will obviously be omitted....

Twist Of Fate
Gift Of Screws
Gotta Get Away
Smile So Sweetly
Down On Rodeo

...are 5 great songs (among others I didn't mention) that are just too good to go "unreleased". I think we'll see them as "B-sides"...keep your eyes peeled for CD singles, they'll probably show up there.

Just something I noticed when listening to "Peacekeeper". Anyone else notice the "insane laughter" during "Peacekeeper" is almost identical to the "insane laughter" on "Gift Of Screws"??

And, Lindsey made a big hoo-ha about "Bleed To Love Her" on The Dance about it being the song that got everybody together and how it, too, was going to be on the upcoming Lindsey solo album, blah, blah, blah, that they were seemingly committed to including the studio version on this new album.

Sure, seeing what IS included and what got "bounced", I could be a slight bit disappointed that this song or that song was omitted, but maybe those songs wouldn't have fit the "flow of the album", so, I'll wait an pass judgement when I finally hear the final product. ;)

And, if worse comes to worse, one could always burn their own CDR omitting the songs they don't care for and inserting the ones they're pining over (since most of us already have the mp3s of GOS, right?)

Although, in saying that, I would've liked to have heard a good final mix of "Twist Of Fate"...the mix on the GOS mp3 could use some tweaking.

:]What exciting news!
Thanks to the folks who pointed out the list is in alphabetical order. I never would have noticed:rolleyes: and was starting to get worried (I concur with Carne's sentiments about Come not being a good second track).
I am really surprised (maybe even a little disappointed) that so many of the GOS songs are on there...I was kinda hoping Lindsey would keep to the commitment of putting those on a solo album. Now it just seems less likely we'll get a solo from him anytime soon. But I have no doubt the songs will sound amazing, if not better, with contributions from Stevie, Mick and John. I guess I had certain GOS demos picked out in my mind (as I'm sure everyone did) for the Mac album, and others for the solo. Down On Rodeo, Twist Of Fate and Miranda were songs I especially wanted to be on the Mac album because of their gorgeous harmonies I could just hear Stevie singing. So I'm thrilled Miranda made it (I LOVE this song!) and disappointed DOR and TOF didn't. Definitely excited about Running Through The Garden amd The Tower, if that's in fact what it is. I'm a little scared about Smile At You, to be honest. I know she's not gonna sing it in the same key as the angry demo we love, and I know it'll take me a few listens to adjust. Also, no Space Needle? :distress: I was really hoping that one would make it. Whatever, I should stop bitching. I am terribly excited :blob1:...most excited about the brand new stuff we haven't heard!! Thanks for posting the list.

I too will be gutted if 'Down on rodeo' doesn't make it (i agree with the above comment about it being tailor made for Stevie & Lindsey to sing together (say like on 'I don't want to know')
I would be very surprised if Bleed to love her or Steal your heart away were on there - as they are old songs now, and most of us have them anyway!
I'm warming to the title 'Say you will', but think 'Peacekeeper' or 'Illume' would have been better.

Ack!
My first glance at that song listing, left me a bit underwhelmed.
I'm sure that's just a symptom of the mood I'm in though, and that my enthusiasm will kick in again.

If "Goodbye Baby" really is the demo we know as "The Tower," I'd have rather they done Stevie's "If You Were My Love" instead, as I think it's a stronger song.
Though I know that a good many people absolutely adore "The Tower."
At any rate, I'm just going by my feelings toward the demo... the finished product might blow me away.

I also join in the chorus of those disappointed by the omission of "Down On Rodeo," "Deep Dense," and my favorite of all of the 'Gift Of Screws' tracks... "Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind."

But hey, it's my fault that I know so many of these songs in the first place.
If I'd never downloaded any of these demos and outtakes, I wouldn't have a reason to second-guess the tracklisting... I'd just be excited, plain and simple.

And, once again, I agree with chiliD (we're starting a frightening trend here, chili! ;) ), that we may still get to hear some of these as bonus tracks on import singles, or on some kind of Best Buy or Target exclusive, or maybe even on the Japanese edition of the album.

No Johnny, that was no fault! Knowing about LB`s releasing "problems" or whatever you may call it, you/one is forced to do so. Imagine not to have downloaded the GOS stuff. What about the rest of the 16-18 (BTLH and MLDemon don`t count for me as they were on the Dance) songs who don't make it on the new Mac album? They will never be officially released as I bet and they would have been lost to you/us. I`m very happy to have downloaded GOS a few days before Audiogalaxy was shut down! Now that I know that "Say you will" comes soon I manage not to download and listen to the material that I will listen to anyway in a couple of weeks. No loss this way.

By the way another comment. I doubt that on f.E. Murrow additional Stevie vocals will be heard. This song will stay as we know it. It's done and she wouldn`t fit on this one in terms of style and sound.

Am I the only one that dislikes Miranda? There is hardly a LB song I don't like but this one is really the only song that I almost hate. It`s such a shallow untypical sound and I threw it out of my GOS CD at once! So that`s bad luck for me...

And a last question- there seem to be a lot of SN songs which have been leaked before... Where does it all come from? Is there hardly anything totally new for you investigative all finders

OK, I am SO thrilled that Come, The Tower, Red Rover, Running Through the Garden, Smile At You, and Steal Your Heart away are gonna be on there.

This is especially true of RTTG. I never thought that would have a change in hell of being on an album, but here it is!!! I love that song!!! The device I built to communicate telepathically with Stevie must be working.... (just kidding folks! lol)

No you're not the only one! What you said sums up my feelings perfectly...there are VERY few LB songs that I don't like, and this is one of them. I pray that the album version will be radically different from the GOS demo that we have. "such a shallow untypical sound"...well said. On top of that, I really don't care for the use of the variation on the Travis-picked verse of Big Love '97 for the song.

Yeah, I kinda felt the same way when I looked at it, but I don't know why. I think I expected more surprises. (Although it's my own fault for knowing about all of the GOS tracks anyway.) IYWML would have been excellent and count me as another that really, really wanted Down on Rodeo there.

And didn't we read a while ago that there might be an old Buckingham Nicks outtake? Maybe I dreamed that. I was hoping Watchdevil or Without You...or The Witch. I guess they could have discarded one of those. But hey, maybe they'll surface as a b-side or something. (Speaking of which - I saw in the Sunday ads this weekend that Bon Jovi has relelased an 8-song CD of unreleased songs exclusively to Target...we can only hope that FM decides to do something similar.)

After mulling the list over, though, I'm very excited. I think I'm one of the few who really likes Miranda - it had Fleetwood Mac stamped all over it to me. I still think Peackeeper and Thrown Down are very, very strong tracks. And if Smile At You is on it, I'm all over this thing. :) I think seeing an actual list of songs has taken away some of what has been building in my head and I just wanted more, literally. Eighteen songs doesn't look like alot when it's listed out on a screen. ;)

(Speaking of which - I saw in the Sunday ads this weekend that Bon Jovi has relelased an 8-song CD of unreleased songs exclusively to Target...we can only hope that FM decides to do something similar.)

Ooh, now THAT would be exciting!;)
I would just die to hear them do Without You especially if they did it live. I can't decide whether I'd rather hear it with just acoustic guitar (like Landslide) or with lots of instruments, percussion, and some modern sounds.
I can understand the wide range of opinions on Miranda. Lyrically it is very different. But listen to all those overlapping guitars... It's pure Lindsey. I love the guitar riffs in that song. I also love the way it's panned...the way his voice bounces from the left to right speakers. :D

The official title of "Shuffle Riff" (or "Hit & Run" as you may know it) is "Wait For You" as at December 2000. Of course, this may have changed since but I would think it unlikely.

I would have loved "Annabel Lee" as well but I had a feeling it wouldn't be included.

My, I had to get out the smelling salts after reading all the anti-Miranda comments. This is one of the songs that I immediately liked. And, in my humble view, it sounds more "Fleetwood Mac" than a lot of the other GOS stuff. The lyrics are second to none. I think it is a fine choice.

However, I definitely agree that if Down on Rodeo is not in the album, it will be a glaring omission. I mean, think about it. Lindsey even played and sang a few bars of it on his Behind the Music. What's up with that?

On the positive side, I am quite happy that Say Goodbye appears on this would-be track list.

I am hoping that one of the songs that we have never heard of is a song that was co-written by Stevie and Lindsey and hope that it gets recorded as a duet.

I feel you pain on this one. I thought that Annabel Lee and Space Needle were the two strongest TISL outtakes. (Space Needle needed a little more work though, some of the phrasing and rhyming were atrocious and way too contrived. I'm thinking especially of that one verse that ends with 'it is never sunny' or something like that. But all in all it has terrific potential.) Somehow I knew Lindsey would choose Thrown Down to work with though. I don't think we've seen the last of the others though, they're too good to bury and forget about.

I find that, like 90 percent of the time, I like the boot version better no matter which I listen to first. I just accept this and shamelessly embrace the boots :D

I'm a "Miranda" fan as well.
I even include it when I make compilation CDs... so I'm definitely happy it'll be on the album.

But still... I'm bummed about the omission of the others I previously mentioned.

*brief period of mourning*

Ah well, at least I have my mp3s (and the hope that they may still turn up "officially" at some point).

I sometimes wish I hand't even started to get the boot recording in the first place. It would have been easier to get into the songs when they are released. Now if the songs are different we will always compare them to the previous versions that some of us have.....It makes the whole thing rather strange...Its just so damn hard to resist the boots that are floating around all the time...

I agree...that's why I'm trying to restrain myself from downloading Peacekeeper, since I already have all the GOS songs. But when I heard Planets (No Light) for the first time on TISL, I thought it was SO good, I literally cried. It was like, "my little baby's all grown up."

Have any of you ever had a Furbie? I love it when you cover their eyes and they say "no light." Yes, I'm a freak, but aren't we all??
