Its been 12 years since the last one, so maybe after the new album is toured and done and dusted a new album should come out, with extra inclusions!!!

Looking something like this with all the singles, so that means the inclusion of Long way to go, Two kinds of love and Nightbird which were left out from Timespace and the removal of Beauty and the beast, which I dont think was a single???

If you ever did believe
Sorceror
Planets of the universe
Everyday
Blue denim
Maybe love will change your mind
Two kinds of love
Long way to go
NightbirdSometimes It's A Bitch
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
Whole Lotta Trouble
Talk To Me
Stand Back
If Anyone Falls
Rooms On Fire
Love's A Hard Game To Play
Edge Of Seventeen
Leather And Lace
I Can't Wait
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You

Yes?no? any omissions?

12 years? What about the Enchanted box set? I think it has just about everything you listed, with the exception of the TISL songs...

I agree. A greatest hits CD is something marketed to the general public. A boxed set is more for fans who are willing to shell out more $$$ for a lot of the greatest hits, but also more rare songs and different versions. The average person isn't going to spend $30 for a 3 CD collection when they could go to wal-mart and spend $10 on a tight greatest hits package.

If all of Stevie's solo singles were compiled, the following tracks would need to be featured (all 30 of them!):

1.Whenever I Call You "Friend" with Kenny Loggins
2.Gold with John Stewart
3.Insider with Tom Petty
4.Stop Draggin' My Heart Around with Tom Petty
5.Edge Of 17 (7" mix)
6.Leather & Lace with Don Henley
7.After The Glitter Fades
8.Stand Back (7" mix)
9.If Anyone Falls
10.Nightbird (7" mix)
11.Talk To Me
12.I Can't Wait (7" mix)
13.Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You (7" mix)
14.Imperial Hotel
15.Needles & Pins with Tom Petty
16.Silent Night
17.Rooms On Fire
18.Long Way To Go
19.Two Kinds Of Love with Bruce Hornsby
20.Whole Lotta Trouble (7" mix)
21.Sometimes It's A Bitch
22.Love's A Hard Game To Play (7" mix)
23.Desiree with Rick Vito
24.Blue Denim
25.Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind (7" mix)
26.Twisted with Lindsey Buckingham
27.If You Ever Did Believe (7" mix)
28.Everyday
29.Planets Of The Universe (7" mix)
30.Sorcerer (7" mix)

Of course, some of these weren't released officially (Twisted; If You Ever Did Believe; Everyday; Planets and Sorcerer were only issued as promo singles) but they were "singled" out as promotional songs for their respective albums one way or another. For those wondering, yes Silent Night was released as a single in some territories but not worldwide - the same goes for Insider; Needles & Pins; Imperial Hotel and Love's A Hard Game To Play.

If all of these tracks were included, the compilation would need to be a double album so in order to flesh it out a little, it might be an idea to include the "pop" version of Unconditional Love which was originally scheduled as the first single from Street Angel in 1993. Going back a little further still, both Don't Treat Me Like A Stranger and Dial The Number were intended to be singles in 1988 (to the point were actual single mixes were commissioned by the record company) so their inclusion would complete things nicely.

Of course, none of this will ever eventuate but if a job's worth doing 'n' all... To be honest, I would be satisfied just to get the alternate 7" mixes properly mastered on cd but once again, the likelihood of this coming to fruition is slim.

We dont need another Greatest Hits. We have Timespace, which is still around and prominent in every music store and we have Enchanted, which had many songs. All we are missing is the one album, which only just came out.

IMO, too early. Maybe in another 10 years and after 2 more albums...
