wouldnt it be a big load of crap!!
Its the one thing that really disapoints me with Fleetwood mac, the lack of non album track B sides, all we would have is
Ricky
Cool water
Book of miracles
Lizard people
and a few entended remixes and live tracks
and
Silver springs (in my opinion the only decent track) ;)
Surely they could of done better?

non-LP b-sides....
Silver Springs (b-side to Go Your Own Way)
Cool Water (b-side to Gypsy)
You And I, Part I (b-side to Big Love)
Book Of Miracles (Instrumental) (b-side to Seven Wonders)
Ricky (b-side to Little Lies)
Down Endless Street (b-side to Family Man)
Oh Well (live b-side to As Long As You Follow)
I Loved Another Woman (live b-side to Save Me)
Lizard People (b-side to In The Back Of My Mind, released only in European countries)
They'd definitely have to embellish any kind of B-sides compilation, with remixes, etc.

In one way, yeah, I see your point; but then, with songs like these, it's not too bad after all:
World In Harmony
Purple Dancer
Silver Springs
Cool Water
You & I, Part 1
Down Endless Street
Book Of Miracles
Ricky
Oh Well (Live 1987)
I Loved Another Woman (Live 1987)
Everywhere (live 1987)
The Chain (live 1987) (edited post)
Lizard People
I just think they should've released a 2 CD live set from their 1987/88 tour instead of only a half-baked video production.

World in harmony and Purple dancer??? Ooh dont know those, Must find them NOW!!!!
I assume pre Buckingham/Nicks
Its still not many in ratio to how many singles were released and how many demos are out there!!!
How many non lp B sides did Stevie/Lindsey/Christine have solo? Not many was it?
It just seems odd to me

ChiliD... they released a 1990 live version of "The Chain"??
I thought the only live version of "The Chain" used as a b-side, was the December 1987, San Francisco version.
(I hadn't included it, or "Everywhere," on my list... but I guess I should have!)
Stevie's non-LP b-sides....
Edge Of Seventeen (live edit b-side to Edge Of Seventeen)
Garbo (b-side to Stand Back)
One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star (b-side to Talk To Me)
Real Tears (b-side to Two Kinds Of Love)
Desert Angel (b-side to Sometimes It's A Bitch, not available on vinyl or cassette copies of 'Timespace')
Sleeping Angel (remix) (b-side to Love's A Hard Game To Play)
Inspiration (b-side to Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind)
Thousand Days (b-side to Maybe Love in European countries)
Mirror Mirror (b-side to Blue Denim)
God's Garden (not a b-side, but available only on Japanese pressings of 'Street Angel')
Of course, five of the above nine songs (not counting the live edit of "Edge") were eventually released on 'Enchanted,' and "Desert Angel" was previously available on CD copies of 'Timespace.'

"World In Harmony" was the B-side of "Green Manalishi" 1970
"Purple Dancer" was the B-side of "Dragonfly" 1971.
"The Chain"...yeah, you're right, 1987...I was thinking of the 1990 "Skies The Limit" CD single, my bad. :(

I don't get it..."Purple Dancer" was the B-side of "Dragonfly", and yet "Dragonfly" itself is not on any Fleetwood Mac (non compilation) album...? Or is it??

except for the 2 Peter Green era songs chiliD named the rest are floating around on various bootleg compilations...But it would be great to have some very clear versions from the original masters instead of from vinyl 45's to listen to every once in awhile...Brian J.

I'd add to the compilation Christine's soundtrack songs, 'I Can't Help Falling in Love (w/Lindsey, Mick & John) and "Roll With Me Henry" (w/ Billy, Rick, Mick and John). Those are essentially Fleetwood Mac backing up Christine.

DAMN this makes me feel old. Let me take a swig of my Geritol and I'll tell you a story about how in the OLD DAYS (the 70's), record companies used to treat singles as separate entities from albums, so songs were released on singles that NEVER were intended to be on albums. As far as Fleetwood Mac is concerned, "Man Of The World"/"Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight", was one, "Green Manalishi"/"World In Harmony" was one, "Dragonfly"/"Purple Dancer" was another.
Turn the clock back even further and The Beatles released a NUMBER of singles* that never made it to album (at least, not INTENDED for album...Capitol in the US DID put some of those on the butchered US versions of Beatle albums)
*= "I Feel Fine"/"She's A Woman"
"Day Tripper"/"We Can Work It Out"
"Paperback Writer"/"Rain"
"Hey Jude"/"Revolution"
there are more but I can't think of 'em

Even the original Peter Green version of "Oh well" was recorded purposely for a single too, the rocking part 1 on side A and the mellow part 2 on side B (and then Reprise spliced the two parts together on the revamped reissue of the "Then play on" album in 1977 though cutting out the last few seconds of part 1 due to the fade out and for it to make "musical sense" to create the "long" epic piece it now is known as by most people as being from the TPO album but it wasn't that way originally). Peter was most upset as he felt as though part 2 was the better of the two parts but radio was just playing the A side (part 1). I guess it's very apt to say "Oh well" to this. :)
Also, I've got the "In the back of my mind" European CD single and in addition to the Tango vid version of "The chain" it also has "Little lies" from that show on it and the "Silver springs" Euro CD single has GDW, OMH & GI from "The Dance" video (y'know, the ones that were left off of the CD version?) and the Aussie "Temporary one" CD single has "Gypsy" from "The dance" vid too (though I tend to listen to it more on the "Best Buy" deal which has SYHA on it as "Gypsy" sounds like normal speed on that disc whereas the TO single pressing makes it sound fast though maybe that one is right and the Best Buy disc makes "Gypsy" sound slow, any ideas on that (to anyone that has these two as well and can compare them)?) Anyways, so I guess these might qualify as being other "B side" type of tracks too.

It would be nice to have all the Fleetwood mac loose ends and rarities on one nice double or even triple CD
I imagine there are loads of extended version out there and different edits used in different formats in different countries
Its such a pain ;-)

I would love to have World In Harmony, Green Manalishi, Purple Dancer, and Dragonfly together on any single CD. I wish Warner/Reprise could put it out and it would fit between Then Play On and Kiln House albums nicely I think.
I would buy a B&N era FM b-sides and rarities album eventually I think, maybe they could put two or three versions of Silver Springs on it and some of the rumours outtakes and alternate versions. Oh if only I were record company God...
If you collect the Hollies you will find they had many 45 and super 45/mini 33 releases not collected on any album and some are their best work too. Maybe it is more an English thing?

If FM ever released an album of B sides I'd be there to buy it in a heartbeat!! These are some of my favorite songs and I've never understood why some of the songs didn't make it onto the album.
For example, You and I Part I, Down Endless Street...isn't Goodbye Angel a B side to something, too? I don't know my singles well at all =:-(

Very interesting indeed, I didn't know at all that non-album singles were released back then...! I know that there are some singles released nowadays which are not attached to any particular album but I can't think of any that didn't eventually end up on that artist's next album. Thanks for the info.:)
