For those of you that didnt get Micks's X-mas e-mail......He has confirmed the new cd will be a double....this is great news.....and we deserve it after waiting so many years for new material....
This is going to be a great year.

from the e-mail:
NEW ALBUM: The new album is complete and will debut in the Spring of
2003 as planned. The album is a double CD set and represents some of
Fleetwood Mac’s finest work ever. Stay tuned to www.MickFleetwood.com
and www.FleetwoodMac.com for upcoming stories and information. Rumor
has it that there will be sneak previews coming in the weeks and months
ahead!

VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE STUDIO: To create this album Fleetwood Mac worked
in a home that was transformed into their custom studio for 17 months.
Just before the studio was dismantled we took Mick there with our video
team and shot a virtual, narrated tour of all the rooms that will soon
become major music history! Look for these tour segments on the
Official sites in the New Year.

earlier this evening...That's great that there will be a double album released...At least there will be 1 new album in '03 that I will be awaiting.

This is a good thing and a bad thing in my mind....good, becasue the more music, the better for us!! but, it worries me as far as reviews go, because I feel like longer records get smashed more by the press.....maybe it's a TUSK reflex.....but whatever.....I'm happy with more music!!

I think the main criticisms of 'Tusk,' were based on the fact that the album was eclectic, and so off-kilter, that a lot of people just couldn't appreciate it.
Especially Lindsey's songs, which seemed out of place alongside "Storms," and "Honey Hi," for example.
The fact that it was a double-album, only exacerbated that fact.

Hopefully the new album will be more cohesive.... and therefore wont suffer from the same criticisms.
But, to be entirely honest, I couldn't care less what critics think of it.
Yes, it would be nice for Fleetwood Mac to have critical acclaim, but if I enjoy the album (and I'm sure I will), then my opinion is the only one I truly care about.

As I posted on the Rumours thread, I'm so excited that it is a double album! A double album means double the new, Mac material which means double the greatness! I wish it was coming out tomorrow. I can hardly wait! :]
