Is there one?

I have at last started to build up a sizeable collection of demos, rarities and outtakes and would like to share them with you fine people ;)

How do I go about getting involved in such a thing?

We used to have a pretty huge group at Audiogalaxy but I don't think there really is a Ledge file share group anymore....

Is there a place at WIN/MX to create a group?

I don't know much about it. The group at Audiogalaxy was awesome!

A universal buddy list could be formed for WinMX but I'm personally not impressed by WinMX at all. But I don't know of any other kind of way we could do it...easily.

Our group on Audiogalaxy was great. I got some great stuff on there, and then AG was done, and my computer crashed...so I lost it all! Damn thing, and damn me for not backing it all up!
Anyone here use Kazaa? I use it now, but it's just not as good as Napster or AG were. And there is CRAP for Mac stuff on there....about 69,000,000 users with Landslide...blah

I have it and use it sometimes. I am personally not impressed but maybe ifenough of us sign up there'd be more FM stuff available. I lost my Audiogalaxy stuff too except I burnt a lot of cd's with the songs I got.

try limewire. It runs on the old Gnutella network, which can never be shut down because there is no central server. There is a lot of Mac and Nicks stuff on there, but not Thrown Down as of yet.

www.limewire.com

in the meantime, if anyone wants to send Thrown Down my way I would be greatfull.

****nevermind! someone just did! ;-) thanks!****

Has anyone heard of Hotline? You can make your computer a server and people would be able to access using the Hotline client software. Downside is that you have to have your computer on and have the Hotline server program running anytime anyone wanted something. Also, you'd have to have enough free space on your computers hard drive for the files.

I think this is a great idea. I'm not sure how we could go about doing it but I was thinking ICQ. There is a very gracious lady whom myself and a bunch of others got Melissa Etheridge live stuff and demos...the whole albums too! She added us to her buddy list and she put up about 40 bootleg albums that she has for us to download. The thing is she installed a ton of gigabytes into her hard drive to store all of those tracks. But I was thinking that maybe we could each put up one or two of our own cd's up and we could change them out every week or so. Eventually we trade all of our cd's with each other. Anyway, I'll quit rambling. Let me know what you guys think and I could get further info from her on how we could set this up.

Would it work to put these files on a website we could download off of? Kinda like Neil does it on his?

Good idea, but the old problem that affects all webmasters / webmistresses BANDWIDTH will knock this on the head.

It would cost major bucks for this and all the freebie site providers are getting wise to this

The other problem with that is that, realistically, there aren't going to be very many people able/willing to put in the time and effort to upload their songs onto the site(s)...

why not making a download program listed here on the ledge such as imesh, winmix, or etc. Telling everyone to go and download it and sign up. So, we can have a nice place again to trade.

I'll upload my songs if others will-not that I have much anymore..the computer had to be formatted last summer thanks to AOL and its malfunctioning DSL software they sent me the first time.
