The FIRST (of over 1000? ) time I heard the "package deal" quote, I really liked it.:)

Also, when LB says "I don't think anything could have happened that would have surprised anybody"...when talking about the period of time whilst they were making Rumours.....something about the way he says it really gives you a feeling of just how crazy (in a bad sense) those times must have been.

I like the one from my signature. I'm not really sure where it's from...but as soon as I heard it, I just loved it.

I also love the one when Stevie was being interviewed for VH1's Rock Across America thing they had during her tour. And she was talking about how her and Lindsey's relationship and how it's really gotten great again and then she says: "but you know...we won't go THERE again." I don't know if that's the exact quote and you probably don't even know what i'm talking about, but the first time I heard that, I could not stop laughing.

And just about everything John says...that man just cracks me up:laugh:

Everything by John. I always remember his quote about him and Lindsey being the only two people in the band who haven't slept together. He either added something like "and there's still time for that". :D

one of my favorites is from a 1989 VH1 interview with FM...Stevie was sitting right next to Mick...He was talking about how Billy and Rick came into the band and Stevie kind of bluntly interrupts and says:

"...and he's being very serious in saying that Lindsey left....THEY had dinner...I SHOWED UP....even though I wasn't invited...and...six or seven weeks later we went on the road"

now, reading it doesn't do justice to seeing the interview. Stevie, already looking very puffy and not happy at all, just interrupts Mick and when she says "I showed up" (she emphasizes "I") i think it's kind of a zinger to Mick because i know she was genuinely mad that he didn't consider her for that "dinner" with the possible new guys. I think the rest of FM may have been there and that's why she was pissed about it. Anyway, she sort of quickly sneaks in "even though i wasn't invited" in a real sly kind of way. He just had this look on his face like he wanted to kill her. I think he even blinks and looks away at that point....Maybe it didn't phase him and he was just in a mood that day but the timing is great.

ok....one more popped into my head....I think it's from the Australian Molly Meldrum interview with Stevie in 1986:

"...it's like, this is the tribe....and these are the sacred steps back to this jungle kind of thing...and that's what TUSK was."

ok Stevie.

i think this is a great post....c'mon guys! let's get your inputs!!!

how about the one during the Dance era with Chris Connely on MTV with Stevie:

Chris: How much of your cocaine use contributed to the problems in the band? (i don't know if that's verbatim but you get the idea...)

Stevie: uhhhhh....it wasn't just MY cocaine use. It was everybody's cocaine use. I was NOT alone in THAT one.

oof. she wasn't too happy with him on that question. I think she remembers his not too favorable "Wild Heart" review in Rolling Stone magazine in 1983.

Where did I just read this interview -maybe Rolling Stone?- about the new album and Stevie says -*not verbatim*: Yeah we still have tense momoets-if this were BigBrother Lindsey would vote Stevie off the island and Stevie would vote Lindsey off..."

Love that quote! It was from the RS "Women Who Rock" Issue.

I used to have so many. But I can't remember any of them except for one thing that Stevie said to her assistant, Gabrielle Arras, to get the woman to go away:

"Gabrielle ... really ... go catch a fever."

I think this was part of that December 1979 Jim Ladd Innerview. In a skyhigh coke & brandy haze, Stevie said a lot of great things during that one. Someone should transcribe it.

ok, here's a couple more:

I love Halloween ...[and] I love haunting, haunted melodies. I've never been, and probably never will be, a down-home rock 'n' roll songwriter. I try to add that extra, spooky dimension to whatever I do. I want my songs to sort of step a little bit into the bizarre.
~Stevie Nicks, US Magazine, October 28, 1980

I feel there are good spirits everywhere when I am writing my songs, helping me. I just feel them and feel good. And it's not stupid or mystical or weird. I just get good feelings from ~ I don't know ~ the air.
~Stevie Nicks, Creem Magazine, 1982

From an article in the Miami Herald which featured most memorable quotes of 1973:

The question was : What is the hardest thing about touring?
Christine's response: Waking up to a hang-over and having the worst case of PMS in the recorded history of women's health. Or trying to make it to the bathroom to throw up after getting too drunk and tripping over your husband because he passed out on the floor and couldn't make it to the bed. Wait, I have a better one. Trying to make love to your husband in a bus that is going 95 miles an hour while your bandmates listen with their ears against the door. It is difficult being the only female in a band.

Another one I like.....

Stevie: ...........I love nothing better than to be in the company of a great guitar player. It's the only time when I'm calm. I think it's because of living all those years with Lindsey and all he ever did was play guitar, you know, just lay on the floor and play guitar... acoustic guitar, electric guitar, not plugged in, sound off on the television. I had to learn to cool out and be calm or get out... in the studio or here or anywhere, the only time really when I am completely calm is when a guitar player is like working on a part... very strange.

These quotes remind me of George's "Quotes of the Week" on the old Stevie board. I saved a bunch of 'em... I kinda miss those.....

I don't know the exact quote....but it's the interview during like Other Side of the Mirror when she has like a big bow tied around her head.....like pink or something.....and she says something like, "Well, I think they know that the heel of my platform boots would not feel good in their shin, and my tambourine would not feel good over their head...." I love when she got all fired up and acted tough.....lol.....so funny.

ROTFLMAO. I have always liked Christines humour and now I got another fine example. That one is great, thanks KathyD

My favorite quote is from JohnMcVie, circa 1990, driving in his car with an interviewer.

Interviewer: So, all in all how much did you all spend on drugs?

John: Couple of mills...

Interviewer: Jesus!

John: That's what we said.

:) Great one.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOO FUNNY!

Btw, the one where Stevie said my tambourine on his head and my heels on his skin, is also the interview where she finally says the 'Silver Springs' story and is like: "NO ONE EVER MESSES WITH MY FAMILY!!!!EVER!!!!!!!"

Another funny one is when she was responding to the witch rumors by saying: "On halloween, i didn't want to go as a hotdog or a box of kleenex!"

That one was too funny, might have been MTV 1986...not too sure though..

***Interesting note, that Silver Springs mean interview happens to be on my Bristol Connecticut '89 CD where she curses out the security people!

THOUGHT OF ANOTHER ONE!!!

Jay Leno 2001:

Question: Paper or Plastic?

Stevie: Like I said, cash

Me screaming at the TV: "Noooo!!!! "

lmao!!!

Poor Stevie, even when shes not under the influence shes a little confused!

And her defense, she goes to Sheryl: "You NEVER go to the market either!"

Can't you just hear her saying it in her distinguished English accent?! I love hearing her speak....

I love the part in the Tusk tour documentary where she was recalling some band she was in around the Chicken Shack days:
"....and for some obscure reason i was playing bass"

In the same documentary she sits there on the boat, with a plastic cup in her hand (coffee?) and talks about the 5 strong minded individuals in the band: "I respect their opinions, even if they are wrong."

...and the one when she imitates the studio boss with the deep voice: "... that makes it a valuable product".

The british accent makes it all the more funny.

I'd forgotten about that....so not only do LB and Christine (according to LB) have a similar musical sense, but they also played the same "wrong" instrument in their first bands.
