Just got the UK version of The Very Best of
What the hell is this, 1 CD, no enhanced section, 3 (YES, THAT IS THREE!!!) peter Green era tracks.
Sorry to whoever is reponsible for this bizarre idea, but it makes the whole thing look very cheap!
The US version is fantastically wonderful, and pays tribute to an amazing era of a unique band, but we in the UK seem to have been treated to a sort of KTEL Best of FMac (People in the UK will know what i mean!).
I am pleased that i am able to get a hold of the US releases quickly, because if i had waited for the UK release, i would have been very disappointed. What are FMAC (or more accurately, the record company!!) expecting to achieve by putting those tracks on what is essentially a completely different bands album!
I am pleased that the new stuff sounds great and will be relieved when the new album is released.
In future though, please keep the Stevie/Lindsey era FM seperate from teh Peter Green band

So I take it I haven't missed much by not getting VB but instead I'm getting The Dance.

dude... the dance? well yeah... it's a good album... if you want live versions of old songs... but a cd of the original songs... some single versions.. alt versions.. whatever.. and an enhanced video part with new stuff from them? nah... you totally need to get the vb of fm over the dance.... hands down.

Hmmm....well I can't say I am not surprised. Apparently the US record compny decided what they thought the UK would want to hear. QUite why they couldn#'t give us the enhanced stuff I don't know. All I can say is thank god for my credit card and the internet!

Strangely enough, it does seem to be what the UK public want... I was just in Woolworths buying Faith Hill's new single, and the VB of FM is at #9 in their album charts.

The people buying it probably don#'t know anything about the enhanced US version!!

Early indications suggest a chart entry of #12 for the VB of FM

Well, I got the European version too. I didn't mean to...but then I walked into a store and there it was right before my eyes, looking at me, begging me to buy it, I couldn't resist it...I do hope my US version will come in the mail soon...this is torture!

Is there anything of note about the UK version?
What does the cover look like?
Any photos?

It sure sounds like they would have been better off just releasing the same 2-disc edition everywhere.
