Just got the new FMac Best of. It features new footage of the band in the studio (a house in L.A). Firstly, Stevie looks and sounds amazing! Her hair looks darker than usual, and she looks fantastically thin!
I think she sings the line 'In the darkness' on one of the two songs (which sounds great and very FM!).
The whole thing looks very well packaged, and i only hope it gets some sort of promotion, to get the band back into the charts and people's minds

Still waiting for my copy. It was dispatched on the 9th so I'm hoping it will come on Monday!

With regard to the audio, how does the old stuff sound? Also are there any special versions used (other than Lindsey's "Dance" stuff), or is it all direct from the original albums?

Now damn it, if I had known they were going to ship it early, I would have pre-ordered it! I preordered TISL and didn't get it until the third day after its release, so I didn't want to have to wait again...oh well, I can wait until Tuesday (maybe...). Hehe, yeah, congrats on getting it early. :wavey:

My firend tells me that the video footage is about 5 minutes long...and the songs sound great! I posted more about it over on the Rumours board

That's right Pip,
the footage is about 5 minutes long (at one stage, during the recording of some new stuff, John says to Mick....'sorry if it's not good enough for you....jesus christ!!')
Stevie winds Lindsey up a bit by saying her bit is monotone on a song! and that there is a bit that he would find hard to sing onstage! I can't believe how great she looks, i haven't seen her look this thin for years - and she wears trousers and platform shoes!
After watching again, don't know if i heard the 'In the darkness' bit or not! but the songs sound great anyway (short though the clips are...!)
The sound of the old stuff is tremendous.......single version of Rhiannon, crystal clear instrumentation...wow, it is just wonderful to hear these songs sounding so fresh!
I copied it immediately for the car!

Okay, I've recovered...

If you get the opportunity, could you post what other versions were used? (i.e. Over My Head, Gypsy...)

Also, were you able to link to the website goodies?

Thanks for the info Dave.. now I am even more anxious to get this CD. I pre-ordered it through Amazon.com.. so it is safe to say that I will not be getting it on Tuesday. Hopefully by the end of next week! I can't wait!!

Sisters of the moon has a different vocal on it, and the end of Silver springs is amazingly different!!!
I'm freaking at the minute, cos i just read that 'Thrown down' and 'Peacekeeper' are two of the tracks on the new album!

This is amazing! I was praying it would be alternate versions to warrant the price of a double cd...

thats awesome news!!! ive definetely gotten my mac fix for today! im so happy about thrown down, and Alex I may be staying out tuesday lol....cuz i have to work, and im not waiting for all that time....can u like hear the new songs? i mean kinda how they sound or whatever??

Ohhh, I'm so excited again! I saw the commercial yesterday for the first time, and actually squealed! :lol: :]

I really can't afford to buy it, because I'm trying to save money for Christmas...but right now, I'm wondering who I can cut from my list! ;)

Well, any doubts I had about buying this album are gone...I AM SO excited!!!! It's pretty cheap at Target...lowest price I've seen...it's advertised as $14.88....other places it's 16 buck or more....Umm...Target is national right? anyway...I'm excited!

~~~Yes, I got my copy of The Very Best Of...today and it is as noted awesome!!! There is a photo of the band on the inside cover which I've never seen before and I love it. It is from the very early days. You all have alot to look forward to.~~~

Ok, how in the world are you folks getting this thing early???!!!?? I ordered mine from Amazon.com as well......yeah, and I'm not looking forward to having it by Tuesday.....my Two Sticks and a Drum DVD has been shipped, but not this double cd!!!! Crap.....I knew I should have just went out on Tuesday to a store and bought it so I could have it right away.....would be cheaper.....I'd have it quicker........CRAP!!!!!

Anybody check out what's on the website they're talking about? The 5 minute video footage is what's actually ON the cd right? What's supposed to be on this website??? What else is on the cd????

The websites don't seem to be live yet. There is a great part of the footage where Lindsey is recording and has to stop laughing as you can hear Stevie's doggies yapping in the background!

Just curious about viewing the footage...do you have to have Windows Media Player or what for it to load up?? I have that and all but i just wanna make sure i can pop that sucker in my PC tomorrow morning,lol.

guess I'll be anxiously awaiting for my copy to arrive in the mail...I wished I knew Target was going to have it for such a low price, I would have had a reason to stop there tomorrow to waste time before the McCartney concert...Tomorrow will be very unreal, Brian J.

Woah, not fair, you get a Paul concert AND a new FM cd on the same day??? Oh, and I dunno if you've been to any of the concerts for Paul, but they can take a loonnngggg time to get into so don't waste too much time, and of course, the show has been consistently 20 minutes late starting. (But it's worth it)

the "Macca" shows arent as late starting as are the past Guns 'N Roses shows...Which are consistently an hour to 2 hours late starting...lol..."Mac or Macca?", Brian J.
