View Full Version : Another Question For Our California Ledgies !

Can any of our California Based Ledgies give us any insight on the homes Stevie & the Mac maintained whilst living in LA LA Land ?
I'm curious to find out more about the home Christine had purchased from Tony Newley back in the late 70's and the various homes Mick, John, & Stevie had resided in until they went their seperate directions......
Also I understand Christine's neighbours were ready to have her thrown out of her home due to the firefights she had with the Late Mr. Wilson of The Beach Boys.....:distress:
Any info would be appreciated !
NAMASTE !

When I met Mick, he was living at the "Blue Whale" (his term for the house) in Malibu, later moving to a place in Point Dume area (rented, however). It was a nice place, but not exceptional except for the view of the ocean. That's the house he got married to Sara at. John Mc Vie was living in North Hollywood in a small (by famous peoples' standards) tract home, soon he moved into a new place in Bell Canyon area (west valley). It was a million dollar house high on a hill overlooking the area. AFAIK, he still lives there, he added a pool and outside deck for another couple of hundred thou. Some of you out there (who've been involved with FM for 20 yrs. or more) may figure out who I am, based on what I say in this forum -- take a guess! I'll be telling some stories as time goes on, that some late comers to the FM experience may not know about.

Hmmm...sounds rather cryptic!

For several years Stevie lived in a house off of Sunset Boulevard in the Pacific Palisades. I believe her neighbors were that old dude from "Dynasty" (John.... ??) and Ah-nold Schwarzeneggar. There are three or four LARGE mansion-like properties in a teeny little canyon.
The street in question was a private road in a small, canyon/nook just off of Sunset. For anyone who's driven from the 405 to the beach, it's at one of the "bottoms" of the really curvy/hilly part of Sunset.
Everytime I drove by there I thought of Stevie. I also thought about how many nutballs must have tried to bug her because there wasn't much security. But this was in the late 80's, and the world was very different then.

A long time ago, she lived in a beachfront condo in Marina del Rey, with her assorted groupies. It was off Pacific Avenue, on some little street called Eastwind or Oceanwind or BlowYeWind or something. Access to the condo directly from the beach was completely open, surprisingly enough (or so I've been...uh..told).
It was a two-story thing with big glass windows on the seaward side. Nice beach ... but way too close to the water for tsunami safety. It was completely in any tsunami inundation zone, & would have been demolished in even a moderately sized tsunami event.

Wondergirl, this person hasn't mentioned Lindsey once.
That pretty much rules out Stevie right there! LOL!

No, I'm not Stevie - nor would I want to be, but I was sort of an "outside-insider" with the group. I spent a lot of time with them and their friends and went to parties, rehearsals, etc. with FM & SN. It kinda consumed my life for the years from 1982~1995. Actually, it was too much for me, as I never expected to be hanging around with them at all. It's a long, long story...

I love living in SoCal. Born here and never left.
The coolest Stevie thing about living in SoCal is that I live a 1/2 a block away from the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. When she played there for her "Pondering the Millennium" tour, I walked around the corner and got to stand in the front against the stage for both shows.
She kicked ass on those Millennium shows!!

If you were into collecting FM/SN back in the 80's, you probably would know who I am. I had THE most stuff, more than anyone, for that reason, I made some people upset when I didn't just give out demos/outakes/rarities freely. Here's a real good clue: I knew Kim Anderson (Stevie's Ex). That was the source of a lot of stuff I have/had at the time. Any of you out there been into this since the early 80's? If not, you probably wouldn't know. Anyway, I can be a source of some older info on the band and some inside stuff. Basically, I got sick of the whole thing and bailed out almost completely from being involved with the mac. BUT, I do still stay in touch with a few people close to SN occasionally. Beyond that, I'm sorta out of it, but still got lots of stuff related to them. BTW: I'm not trying to be cryptic, I just don't want to get into the same stuff I had problems with years ago, with the same people. If it starts up again, I'll just bail.

That sort of reminds me of someone who once told me a story about Stevie's American Music Award.

Well count me outta the guessing game..I am too young to have followed the Mac back then..but you are intriguing that is for sure..and that comment you made about being an outside insider struck me..cause i met some people who used to be involved with Stevie back in the day and they had a similar description..although they did refer to it more a constant circle..on minute you were in,the next you were not, with alot of backstabbing.....i'm not under the impression that you are one of these people..i'd just felt like commenting on the whole thing,lol...

I'm afraid I feel totally inadequate..being a Ledgie and just being a married mum with two kids, who enjoys listening to FM!! All these "stories" sound totally crazy. Spare a thought for us ordinary folks who know absolutely nothing about the "ins" and "outs" of the music industry!!!
