I like both versions of Think About It, but personally I choose the Rumours demo. It sounds very 70s, it reflects the Mac sound of that era.

I also like them both equally. I can’t choose one over the other.

I prefer the 1976 demo. The Bella Donna version (overall, but particularly the lead vocal) is harsher on the ear. The demo has some softness and tenderness.

Absurd the band let Lindsey have 9 of the 20 songs on Tusk but omitted this song. No wonder Stevie felt she needed to launch a solo career.

I have always loved the Bella Donna version. I played guitar along with it a couple of nights ago.

I love that entire album. Not sure I can put it in my all time top 10, but it's definitely in my top 20.

Both are good for different reasons. The Mac version is very folksy. It would have perfectly fit on Tusk along with Beauty and The Beast.

Having said that, the better version is Bella Donna. Billy Payne's piano is so good and prefer her vocal on it. Its one of the rare Stevie songs written for or inspired by Christine. It should have been her tribute song instead of Landslide for all those years at her concerts.

BTW Billy Payne played for everyone including Elton John, Bob Segar, Jimmy Buffet, Linda Ronstadt, Bryan Adams and was founder of the band Little Feat.

One of Stevie's rare and positive lines: Even when you feel like your life is fading, I know you will go on forever, you're that good!

I think Beauty and the Beast would have sounded weird on Tusk, it's a little too orchestral...? wouldn't have fit the vibe imo. I'm not a huge stevie fan but i do like that song, it's beautiful.

but i do agree Think About It could have made a good addition. (and those lyrics also speak to how down Chris was at the time, if she was really thinking about leaving.)

The Tusk version of Beauty and The Beast is not orchestral. Its very bluesy. Each version is different but I like the Tusk one better. Chris's electric keyboard and Mick's almost dysfunctional beat really gives the song such emotion. It would have been so good on Tusk IMHO.

Thanks for the link, i don't think i'd ever heard that version before! yeah i suppose that might've fit on Tusk better than the orchestral version... but on the other hand, because it has *such* a different feel from all stevie's other songs on the album, I wonder if it would've felt weird just because it was so much more "bluesy" than what we usually hear from her...

You could also say Angel does not fit either. When I first bought Tusk Storms was my least favorite song. It was not until the early 2000's that the song really grew on me. We are all brainwashed from hearing Beauty and Beast with an orchestra and hearing Tusk the way that it is. But I think Beauty and The Beast would have added that passionate punch to Tusk. Clearly Stevie thought so much of the song that when it was rejected for Tusk she kept it for her second solo album. Both versions are good for different reasons but I get more passion and emotion from the Tusk version. I can actually hear this between emotional Brown Eyes and Never Make Me Cry. Fits like a glove.

I hadn't heard it either. And I wonder why it wasn't included in the Tusk Expanded or the Deluxe. Because it was already released in a Stevie album? So it was Planet of the Universe, and it was included in Rumours Expanded.

Are you new here today?
Its been discussed at nauseum (mostly by me) how this and other songs were not included in the Rumours or Tusk deluxe or expanded. We don't get Sleeping Angel either and many others. Yet we got 8 versions of I Know I'm Not Wrong.

I apologize my friend, I'll review your 7,605 posts to see if I'm forgetting something else. :)

I do remember we commented in many threads the excess of IKINW tracks. But I didn't even knew B&B was written that year, I thought it was an 80s song, even though I read it was about Mick. I think that confirms I'm not so fan of Stevie solo works. Or maybe the Alzheimer is progressing? Just kidding, I hope, cause in fact, my short-term memory isn't what it used to be.
