I wonder what the reason for her being on the show is. Is she promoting anything? Maybe the practical magic 2 movie or daisy chain?

She's promoting her Rhiannon movie, for the 50th consecutive year.

It's the Rhiannon Golden Jubilee!

Connect the dots. My hunch is she is going on the show to announce the Fleetwood Mac/Buckingham Nicks reunion. Remember when her and Rod Stewart went on a talk show to announce an upcoming tour. This is something that needs explanation and not just some twitter announcement to get everyone talking.

It all depends on what she says there, and what Lindsey says this wednesday at the Judd Apatow & Friends benefit event.

Meanwhile, can't wait to see the Rhiannon 5D IMAX in Sensurround movie. And its sequel... Rhiannon vs Guinevere.

Stevie will have invented an all new format by then. She'll be able to telepathically transmit the images right onto your walls. Your flaming walls.

And that's when you'll arrive to unmask her and reveal that she's a fraud, since her "invention" is a bad copy of "The Box" from 1995 and the real inventor is... The Riddler.

I can't imagine what she is going to perform. It has to be a new song right? Please, not Landslide or Rhiannon or a condensed version of EO17 again. I can't take it.

Unless she confirms a release date of the "Ghost Record" or whatever (and sings a new song), I think she will sing of those usual songs you mention (where is the yawn smilie?), and will talk about her next performance on august 29 at Great Park (Daisy Chain Fields) in Irvine Ca. .

It would be a nice surprise if she sings Storms, Nightbird, Twisted, Sweet Girl or Rooms of Fire. In fact, I'd prefer any of those instead of Show Them The Way or The Lighthouse.

Remember that it is a duet and Lindsey takes the last verse. You will be tearing up telling everyone it was worth your $1200 bucks.

She is doing things on her terms. She will portray herself as the hero of bringing everyone back together again. She's gonna wash that Fleetwood Mac villain right out of her hair.

Remember that it is a duet

Being serious, I loved Lindsey's Say Goodbye 2005 live version. The studio version seemed a bit fast to me; here he sings it with more feeling, and Stevie did it well, too. After everything that happened, watching it today might make me angry, but at the time I enjoyed it.

Getting back to the joke (or not?), if they sang it again, I would have several phrases to give Lindsey to replace the lyrics.

As long as the hair looks different when it’s dried ..
And not Rapunzeled rag ringlets

As for the announcement…I will only believe it when I hear it.
I wouldn’t mind a Buckingham Nicks mini tour …
I’d love to see the music come full circle.

It's actually from 2003 (it aired in 2005).

Lindsey messed up, or took the easy way out, with the studio version. He took his solo version, sped up to give it that hushed quality he likes, and just overdubbed Stevie onto it.

Obviously the better thing to do would have been to re-record it as above. There is no sense of a duet on the studio version.

Someone posted on Facebook that it is a rerun of when she sang The Lighthouse. But it says that Jelly Roll is the guest host, so I don't get it. Is just her part the rerun and the rest of the show is live?

Isn’t she coming out with an album this year? Somebody posted in this forum Steve Lukather played on the album. Probably singing a song from her upcoming album.

So that was just weird. Jelly Roll says we are out of time but first Stevie Nicks and she sings Stand Back. She did a great version. Wore her boots, thank goodness. But the hair is the same. Yuk. Same everything else, including the band she has had for years now. Although they are pretty good. But no interview, nothing new. To me it was a bit strange. She just thought, I'd like to sing on TV tonight.

Villavic

So she didn't sing Storms. :distress:

Yes it was a good performance, but nothing knew. Except for Waddy at 1:20, well I haven't seen all SB live performances so that was new for me. I really thought this was for promoting her next show on saturday. Really weird she didn't say a word, a missed opportunity.

Thank you for sharing.
She went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to only perform a classic hit.
What is her most recent song or album release? Is it The Lighthouse, Buckingham Nicks, Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits?
I wonder why The Lighthouse wasn’t even mentioned to stream - let alone perform. It would’ve been great to hear Crystal, Seven Wonders, Sara, or the no chance in hell, No Questions Asked.

If I was to put my wager on things, maybe she did have an announcement or something to talk about but with Dolly the show's format overran and they just let her sing Stand Back and didn't have 15 min for her to give a speech.

I’m sorry I don’t follow. You would wager that she was going to sing a new song but due to Dolly’s passing changing the show’s format, instead Stevie chose to sing Stand Back? Thank you for your help!

I understood there was going to be an speech or interview, but so much time was spent on the Dolly new that there wasn't enough time to talk with Stevie, or perhaps even with other guests, and there was only time for her to sing a song. But I haven't seen the whole program, just the clip of the song I attached, so I'm just speculating.

Did she already have the noodles hairstyle in 2024? If not, then it's not a clip from that year.

My cousin played the Grand Ole Opry last night, and called them yesterday afternoon, and asked if she could do a Dolly song instead(she had to ask, because the Opry band backs you up), and they said yes. She did I Will Always Love You.

That's beautiful to hear! All these remarks from people about Dolly are full of praise and thanks.

Now that someone mentioned here that Stevie's performance last night was taped last year, I doubt Stevie had any plans to be at Kimmel's studio last night. If she had been at his studio, she would've done a song for Dolly and the song would not have been Stand Back.

I know a bunch of people that have met her, and nobody has ever had a bad word to say about her. She was- in real life- what we saw on TV. A very down home person, but at the same time, a VERY SAVVY business person.

Stevie lost a lot of weight. Good for her. So happy for her. She is getting her figure back and getting healthy again. You can see her silhouette when she is dancing and she looks so much thinner.

Now she just needs to get rid of the terrible noodle hair. Honestly it just looks like one of those rag mops on her head. No one likes it. Her natural hair is gorgeous.

She does look thinner, good for her. it's tough as we age to lose it. I agree her hair needs a change... idk why her stylist doesn't recommend a new hairstyle.. taking off some length and keeping it straight or even wavy would be far more flattering than that noodle mop look.

I do worry about her though. She doesn’t look healthy. Something is “off” with her the past 4 or 5 years. I just can’t put my finger on what is off. It’s not “she’s getting older”. It’s not “botched” facial surgery. I see these photos where the left side of her top lip is drooping and I don’t know what to think. The lisp started about 2021/22. Its just something doesn’t feel right. I just keep her in my prayers and hope she is ok.

I thought that by today the Stevie fans would have already posted videos of her performance on august 29. Although they didn't film it very close up, you can compare it to the video from Kimmel's show and clear up the doubt some people had about whether it was filmed that day or some time ago.

That dance at 2:00, a bit childish.
