This post appeared in my Facebook wall, it says On this day in 1983, Stevie Nicks and Kim Anderson were married. It includes some pictures, some with better resolution than others. But there's one of Stevie and a guy who isn't Kim or Christopher. Who is he?

It's always a good omen when the bride wears black to her wedding. :wavey: Not to mention she looks high as a kite. Actually it's looks like one of the black lace overlay over a white dress similar what she would wear on stage around that time.

It's definitely not George Hawkins. I don't think he had much of a relationship with Stevie.

It's always a good omen when the bride wears black to her wedding.

Since it was a year after Mirage, probably she still was in a french mood and inspired her dress by a Francois Truffaut movie.

And the guy doesn't seem to be Kim's best man either, because in this photo it looks like they're with the bm.

It’s Kenny Rogers’ better looking brother.

 I didn't see that coming.

If so, Mick should have been there, but I don't think he was.

Mick was there. Only he and Chris attended from the band. Don Henley hung up the phone on Stevie when she invited him

Oh yes, I had forgotten that. Consulting the obvious source, I read that Mick said he went with Christine. He also took the opportunity to make a "fashion" critique.

We all knew it was too soon, only weeks after Robin had left. It was a dramatic gesture by two people bonded together only in misery. Christine and I went to the ceremony, at some born-again type of church. Stevie's bridal veil was one of sorrow. I could see on her face that she knew it was a mistake.

This marriage was very short-lived. To this day, Stevie won't talk about it.

Kim had to be just as bat sh*t crazy as her at the time. He had to be majorly into drugs too. In a very controversial interview that was mysteriously removed from youtube 10 years ago Stevie talked in detail about this marriage. At her peak klonopin addiction she was interviewed by someone that sort of took advantage of her in her condition and sort of wrote the article that she was a washed up rock star. It was around 1992 post Timespace. Stevie said that Kim was very protective of the baby and would not let her see him. Kim would get angry with her and would sometimes call her Robin. Stevie said she was scared and the only way to deal with it was to leave and go on the Wild Heart tour. She filed for divorce while on the road. Her divorce became public on the Entertainment Tonight episode when she was at Chicago. This would of been around the time she passed out on Prince's kitchen floor. Stevie also said she was really nuts during this time that she had to purposely avoid her parents. No sh*t.
This interview she also spoke in detail who she invited to the wedding. Don Henley took her call but when invited he cursed at her and hung up the phone. I can imagine them high as a kite speeding away from the wedding and Prince coming on the radio with her demanding to pull over to get a tape recorder. Must of been an exciting day!

Reading all that is very sad. Pathetic, but sad too. The life she led significantly affected her talent during the mid and late 80s. I'm glad she overcame all of that and survived. Unfortunately, she became the person she is now, but I'm happy she survived anyway.

For sure. Her life became consumed for the party and the interest in making great records was no longer the priority. To make it worse the Madonna era was unleashed which spooked the record company thinking she could compete with Prince and Madonna. She was in her late 30s and it was a mistake to chase Prince and Madonna. She had authenticity but sort of lost it in the tacky mid 80s. The drug issue just made things worse. I can only imagine the fights she had with Jimmy before he walked off. He probably issued several warning shots that were never taken seriously. Jimmy leaving just made things worse because now the pressure was on to bring in simple pop songs that were not written by her to sing on the album. It just never worked. She lost rock chops on one side and on the other side never convinced anyone she was as hip as Prince and Madonna no matter how many neon gloves she put on one hand. Its ironic she said she inspired Prince and Madonna looks but ended up chasing them. The whole era was uncomfortable. Imagine she never got married and then never wrote Stand Back. Could 1981's Leather and Lace be her last top 10 hit? This era was followed by an even worse one where she had difficulty writing. Then her people wanted her to try and reclaim her rock roots with Poison and Bon Jovi. It was a little too late.

Prince wrote THE MUSIC to Stand Back. Her words are an ode to flatulence.

She is, and has always been, a HACK.

She made a career out of the entire world wanting to F young Stevie.

That was a big mistake. I remember I was a big fan of Pat Benatar, and though she was eclipsed by Madonna in popularity, she always remained true to her style. It takes real skill (and daring) to successfully reinvent yourself. Not everyone can be Cher.
