Thanks to “Landslide,” Fleetwood Mac has now debuted on the Hot 100 in five different decades: the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, 2000s and ‘20s. The band joins a select list of groups with debuts on the chart in at least five decades, a landmark last attained by The Beatles when “Now and Then” launched in the top 10 in November 2023. Other groups with at least five decades of Hot 100 debuts include The Isley Brothers (six), The Rolling Stones and Santana (five each).
This is the kind of thing she and her management team LOVE.
I mean it's definitely an achievement, and kudos to her for writing a heartfelt song that has resonated through so many generations. Not gonna lie, I love the song.
But it feeds the ego machine of "*I* am the reason the band was so successful and why I got the Presidential Suite and 50% of the profits" She defines her entire existence on that stuff and only that stuff.

I love the album version of this song. Glad they aren't using any of the bellowing live versions. The original is just perfect.

That stuff is very bothersome. Yes she wrote the song but Fleetwood Mac gave it the platform and Lindsey produced it and helped make it sound like the masterpiece that it is.
I'd also add that when it comes to Songbird, it's NEVER looked at as a Christine McVie song. You NEVER see anyone credit it to Christine. It's always Fleetwood Mac (as it should be). At least Christine played the piano.

Looking at the top 10 Fleetwood Mac songs on Spotify, most of them were written by Stevie Nicks ("Dreams", "Silver Springs", "Landslide", "Rhiannon", "Gypsy"). You can also throw "The Chain" in there too. Her songs with Fleetwood Mac have proven to have the most longevity with the general public, demonstrated by the sustained success of her songs. Even though I would probably place "Landslide" in my bottom five Rumours lineup Fleetwood Mac songs, I'm still pleased that the band has continued to attract more people to their discography.

yes, it's nice to see them still bringing in new generations of fans.
that said, I think Stevie is the easiest band member to identify, because she has such a strong visual brand as well.
Christine wrote more of their hits, but I don't think most people could pick her out of a line up, and Chris also wasn't out there in the public eye constantly promoting herself.
I thought I read something in the last couple years, especially after they sold their publishing, that Everywhere was the most popular song in the catalog.
Christine even acknowledged in the Rolling Stone cover story about Stevie (the one that rightfully pissed off the rest of the band because they were in the middle of a BAND tour at the time) that Stevie has worked to create her "brand". Christine was the only band member to agree to speak to RS about Stevie for that article. I think that might have also been the article where Stevie famously said "I believe in the church of Stevie"....so....yeah, no surprise she has the highest recognition. And she's the only one out there playing live and getting press coverage. So again....no surprise she's the most recognized even by causal fans.

I think Everywhere is the Christine's most popular Mac song. But it's just my perception, based in the few times I listen radio, and when I'm with other people and they recognize it as a Fleetwood Mac song, specially the youngers.

"Everywhere" is a beautiful upbeat and positive Christine song, and it doesn't get as much radio airplay as it deserves. :xoxo:
Just my opinion of course!🙂

I hear it all the time. In stores, on radio, ads, at the gym, in clubs, etc.
I think it gets more run than Little Lies.
