What to go Stevie! What on earth are you going to do with all that money. You know Mick is freaking out looking at her numbers

Now we know why she discarded Angel

By the way, of that list, I only know, or at least have heard of, 7. And one of them is thanks to Elton John. ;)

She really is the only one out there at that level, and especially at her age..... it's all dudes. So.....she loves being a record-setter, and it's precisely why she'll keep doing it as long as the tickets sell.

Her people are loving her. She is a cash cow every year. She'll be like Frankie Vallie and not able to blink and the Landslide sing along will drown her out before she quits.

Yes, and people love her so much that they've been paying to see the same show since 2022!

I don't know if you'd consider Cher, Céline, Janet, and Madonna in her level - I think if they were out on the road now they'd be making more money than Steve is.

Sadly, it doesn't seem like Barbra tours anymore.

Good for her and the fans that still enjoy her live shows. My last solo Stevie concert was the In Your Dreams tour and it was amazing. I have no interest in her live shows anymore, I’m just hoping for some new music.

I think her public who pay for tha same show love her a lot, too. But if that's true, I suppose they would pay for a setlist with some different songs. Yes maybe they would be dissapointed if she didn't sing Dreams, Stop Draggin or Stand Back. But some other songs could be replaced with Storms, Angel
or another solo song.

I don't consider Stevie in the same level as Madonna, in terms of pop impact over the years. Madonna used to reinvent herself very successfully. I remember her being included in an article about success stories in an MBA course.

Good for Stevie anyway.

Sadly Stevie played Angel at one show last year and it was never heard again. We already know she won’t play Storms live because she dropped it after like 6 shows in 2018. Again, it’s weird because she never dropped Storms on the Unleashed - Hits 2009 Tour. I guess she started noticing audiences not responding enthusiastically on maybe the In Your Dreams Tour?

She must still like traveling across the country. Otherwise, she could probably very easily set up camp in Vegas. (What do they call that when a pop act stays there for months?)

They are pop stars, not rock stars. Nope, not even Madonna is an actual "rock" star.:sorry:

Got you! Your meaning was Rock. Stevie has definitely had some solo pop (not rock) songs before but I get you. Interesting that Madonna was inducted into the RRHOF 11 years before Stevie solo, and when Madonna was inducted Stevie had already been 2 years eligible for induction.

I will never understand how they in practice decide who will be inducted. I mean, I now the theorical requirements, but in reality it's as controversial as some Oscar winners. So I don't take those nominations and ceremonies too seriously. If I watch them, it's just for fun.

And, at the risk of being crucified, I don't see pop as a musical genre. I see it more as a look, an attitude, a commercial purpose, etc. In fact, the closest definition of pop I've found is... "an eclectic genre, borrowing elements from other styles such as urban, dance, rock, latin, R&B, and folk music". I kind of agree but then that's is not a music genre, it's more like a Frankenstein creature. So it's not a genre. When I think of pop stars, I don't identify them by the style of their songs, but by how they promoted them, how popular are they. My personal opinion.

So what is Fleetwood Mac? They HAVE some rock songs, but they also have more pop songs. In what category do they fall?

Good question. I'd have different answers if it's referred to 1977... or 1979... or 2003.
I bought some Deluxe editions thru iTunes. They labeled the Tango album as rock genre. Mirage as pop. Tusk and BuckVie as rock. So I guess they don't know either.

I've had that same doubt for years about Eagles, David Bowie, Kiss and Queen. I read in their Wikipedia pages that many bands are labeled (among other genres) as "pop rock", like Bon Jovi, Air Supply, Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Annie Lennox, and The Carpenters.

It's a fairly large gray area. There used to be a radio station named "Z Rock&Pop". They included most of the bands and singers I like, so it didn't complicate things. Although I haven't listened to any radio (or even Spotify) for over 15 years.

Interesting and thoughtful take.
Considering how Stevie is regarded as the biggest female touring rockstar past the age of 55, it's interesting that she wasn't inducted in her first year of eligibility into the Hall - speaking of women: Heart, Donna Summer, Patti Smith, Darlene Love, ABBA, Joan Baez, Joan Jett, Linda Ronstadt, and Blondie were all inducted before Stevie was inducted as a solo artist.

the board and leadership of the RRHOF especially through the early years were twats like Jann Wenner and the bros from Rolling Stone and elsewhere....and they HATED Stevie thru the 70s. They didn't "get" her songs, her lyrics, her voice, her vibrato, her stage presence, etc. and CRUCIFIED her, her voice, her songs, her image, etc in reviews. If it wasn't Robert Plant or similar, it was garbage to them. Then it was punk and if you weren't that you were ****e. People forget that Stevie did indeed face a real uphill battle within the business of people (men) who dismissed her, didn't give her credit for the successes she had (for ex, everyone under the sun wanting to get her on their records --John Stewart, Kenny Loggins (who blew off his cowriter Melissa Manchester who expected to sing Whenever I Call You Friend with him), Walter Egan, etc). People wanted songs from her specifically (Waylon Jennings, Louise Goffin etc). But the "establishment" which was TOTALLY a boys' club shat all over her. So her delayed induction until she was older, had a huge body of solo and FM work and was about the only woman still standing and selling out arenas that they capitulated.

The ironic part of the S&L relationship is that from very early on Lindsey was her biggest champion of her talents. (until the break up when of course he started to weaponize it).

She can't stay still. She can't stay more than a couple nights in the same hotel on a tour let alone months in one place. She always whined about wanting to escape and live quietly in a castle on a cliff overlooking the ocean, but could never actually ever do that. She HATED the Covid time when she was forced to stay home. She's talked about feeling like it stole precious years from her (join the club sister). So it seems like NOT getting to tour during those years exacerbated her need for travel. And let's face it, the attention and focus and adoration she gets touring is something she's never going to get sitting at home with....who?? Her dogs?? Karen??
