This bootleg has been out there for awhile. I was on Ebay during Black Friday and bought the CD on a whim. Its not professional soundboard quality but fairly close. No idea how this was recorded. The vocals and instruments all seem even so its a fairly good recording. In any event this is a must CD for any Stevie fans. The Wild Heart tour was hit or miss similar to RAL. I saw a trainwreck show early in the tour. It was my first concert and I remember having fear as I watched it. Strange reaction but I could tell something was wrong. It was not the Stevie that I saw on HBO for the White Winged Dove show. David said the tour got really good at the end in California. This was recorded right in the middle of the tour. She is firing on all cylinders at this show. She is perky and NEVER misses a beat. She even layers in stuff about Wild Hearts in Outside The Rain and Dreams yet she still makes the time for the verses of the song perfectly. Her voice is in top shape. The music fades out after each song so there is no Stevie banter which would have been fun to hear. This was the last of an era. Her voice was strong. She was not trying to be Prince and adding Doves crying to Edge of 17 (yet). She could still make her voice fragile for songs like Beauty and The Beast. Speaking of which, the song was NEVER played the same ever again. Give me Roy on piano or don't do it at all. Her bridge during If Anyone Falls is incredible and she still makes the chorus. Tom Petty is there and they do an acoustic version of I Will Run To You. This was the polar opposite of the show I got to see. This was the show that should have been recorded, not Largo. However if you notice in the Largo show Stevie is sort of zonked out at times. I saw her a week prior to that show and she was much worse. Not sure if she was sick during these early shows. She still could hit high notes on this tour. She never came in late and never flubbed verses in this show. Its a really good show.
Gold Dust Woman in those days was so dark. Its a different beat than the Mac's and Benmont and Waddy take the song to this dark psychedelic rocker. Its the only Stevie Mac song that I think her band did better but only this tour and 1981 tour. I always hated her solo Sara but this NYC one is fairly good. Her heart is in it unlike Largo when she was mailing it in. Best Outside The Rain and How Still My Love on this tour too. Waddy is rocking it out on Outside The Rain, If Anyone Falls, and the beginning of Edge. OMG its so heavy I love it. I totally see what David was talking about how she was on fire parts of this tour.

I attended this show and it still holds as my #1 excitement for a Stevie Nicks concert. And no, I did not record this. LOL. It was a combination of actually being in NYC to see Stevie. And being at the famed Radio City Music Hall. And even though me and the other two people I went with didn't have great seats, it did not matter. The excitement this crowd had for Stevie was incredible. We literally were all screaming at the top of our lungs for her during every song. When Tom Petty showed up unannounced, we were completely blown away. This was probably the only time I'm aware of where they performed I Will Run To You in addition to Stop Draggin.
Years ago, when I listened to this bootleg I was not impressed with how she sounded on any of the songs. But while I was there, I was completely unaware of the quality of her singing because my excitement overshadowed everything else.

Lucky you. I would say that night was the peak of her solo career. Stand Back was her highest charting self written solo hit and was just dropping from the charts while If Anyone Falls was released. What a lost opportunity to not be the concert that was professionally recorded especially with Tom Petty there. Her band was really good. Roy and Benmont are the best pianist and keyboardist in rock. Bobbye Hall really was on fire during Stand Back. You rarely hear bongos in rock anymore.

I wouldn't say that Stevie wrote Stand Back if PRINCE WROTE THE MUSIC.

That's some real Stevie Nicks' logic...
