All over various places on the internet. A shocking one-off reunion to mark the 50th anniversary of Rumours.

Wow.

Maybe if it was mainly a celebration of Christine.

Wow.
I read some of those articles but it never mentioned anything about a concert. It said the band was going through great lengths to do something special for the 50th anniversary of Rumours. There will be a special edition of the album released.
This would not be for 2 years. No way anything is planned yet. But just to remind you of what your girl has never done or said anything about:

No mention when the White album turned 50
Currently on tour with no mention of Buck/Nicks being released and no songs performed

Having said all that why would Rumours be any different?

Because Rumours is the ultimate cash cow for FM.

You raise a very interesting point about Stevie- I was surprised when she resumed her tour she didn’t add Crying in the Night back to her setlist. She sang it on her last big tour and with BN being rereleased, it seemed a no-brainer that she would bring it back to the set. Not even necessarily to promote the album, but geez, what better time than now to sing it?

The news about a tv project also intrigues me. Looking forward to more info coming out.

And this is "unique".....how????

At this point Rumours isn't art, or even just music, it's a "portfolio" of "content" that can be "monetized" through "various revenue streams"

Presumably just that documentary that's in the works?

Or should we hope for more?

Some other TV ideas:

"WWE Raw: Buckingham Nicks Showdown!"

"Fleetwood Family Feud: Brits v Yanks"

"Good Monday Morning America" - Lindsey covers the latest in national politics, interspersed with acoustic guitar solos.

"Wheel Of Fleet-tunes" - Guess the FM song and win a scarf! Hosted by Mick. But watch out -- half the wheel is 'Bankrupt'!

"American Horror Story: Recording Studio"

"What's Up With That?"

"Grand Designs Of Love" - Kevin McCloud documents the drama of Stevie's new career flipping houses

"McGuyvie" - John stars as a soft-spoken, boat-sailing action hero who finds inventive uses for bass guitar strings to get out of tight spots

"Talk To Me" - Stevie interviews all the stars in this daytime talkshow that's actually filmed at 3am when she's at her chattiest

Another re-issue. Boo hoo
The only reissue I want to see is with the Rumours demos like Sleeping Angel and others. The Tusk reissue had various versions of songs already on the album but finished gems like Beauty and the Beast among others were not included.
Instead of giving us the same old, same old. Give us songs from this band when they were at their peak.

EXACTLY. So we should expect it for 2027.

I have not read about a concert either, but articles mentioned "reunion". And a re-release of Rumours with... new material. Are there still any???

Anyway if the "reunion" means a documentary like the 1995 Beatles Anthology where we could see the three Beatles together, I remember I saw the 3 of them talking in a park, I think it was the final scene and it was very emotional to see them together and remembering John...

But in this case if they do a similar doc together, yes it could be emotional to see them remembering Christine. But all that hate saga between L&S plus Mick behavior in 2018, it would be seen as hypocritical, cause it has already tarnished Fleetwood Mac's history greatly. MHO.

Now they talk about a one off concert with a TV show. When the legacy of the band mattered the most.....one last album HELL NO........one last tour of these 5 HELL NO

But easy money TV show. Sign us up. I am talking about Mick and Stevie who now will pretend 2018 never happened. And guess what....its too late because Chris is not here.

I agree. And in 2027 they will be +-80. Yes, one can not predict health but I don't see them being in enough good shape for live shows, specially John but also Lindsey and Stevie have had health issues so they have to take care of themselves very seriously.

Not to mention all the late history we know that personally made me no longer interested in seeing them reunited.

And if they re release, sorry they re re re re re... release another special edition of Rumours, I'd only look for new tracks, alternate or early versions not released before, if they are available in digital without having to buy the whole album. But it seems hard to believe that there are still any.

Not taking anything from Rumours 50th Anniversary. However I think the release of the White Album is more noteworthy even though it was not as successful as Rumours.
There was barely any mention when Buckingham Nicks turned 50
There was barely any mention or celebration when the White album turned 50.

But when they are in their 80s, one member dead they have agreed for some TV special to make money. Just like the band pretends the Rito/Burnette era did not exist they are moving towards pretending like the 2018 era did not exist either.
I can sort of see why Stevie would agree to this. She does not have to tour with Lindsey. She just has to show up for rehearsal and do the TV concert and collect her paycheck afterwards.

Edit: I may have flashbacks to 1997 during that ET interview with Stevie where she said something like "I woke up one day and decided I didn't want to be angry at these people anymore" She was trying to bury the hatchet. So will Stevie say something similar since she has sworn off to never appear with Lindsey on stage again. Frontline baby!

Maybe. But to Stevie's great sadness, that reunion won't take place because Mick said in 2020 they are "very, very committed to Neil and Mike",:rolleyes: and a reunion with Lindsey is "not a point of conversation". And since Mick is so serious with his statements, a concert for the Rumours 50th anniversary would feature Neil and Mike.

I don't see how a 50th reunion would be anything more than The Dance, version 2.0. And not as good. And totally hypocritical. No matter what songs they played.

The only people who memorialize or even mention the good old albums are the staff at Rhino. They’re the ones who have worked on the best repackages, the best live concert audios, and the best vinyl reissues. They’re the heroes in this (although they make sure to recoup their expenses, which is honest capitalism).

I wish I could thank Rhino staff personally.

You're right, it wouldn't be as good (how could it possibly be?). It would be a better final ending for the band, somehow, than the forgotten Finn/Campbell iteration charity concert at the end of the 2019 tour and the pandemic hiatus until Christine's passing.

I wouldn't beat down the door to go to it, though, especially if John passes on it. If Stevie and Lindsey have made up or are able to fool enough of the people enough of the time, at least, then it would be kind of nice if the four of them could fashion something memorable from an unfinished Christine demo that's been lying around for not too long.

there's the rub. John seems very set on not performing again. I'm not even sure at this point a huge sum of money just to him would be enough motivation. (And who of the other 3 would give up some of their share to even make that happen?? Mayyyyyyyybe Mick at best....becuz you know Stevie and her people won't give up a dime, and seems unlikely Lindsey would.... In order of imaginary possibility I'd rank it Mick, then Lindsey, then Stevie except never Stevie.)

We know Mick would follow these two (BN) wherever, ESPECIALLY Stevie. John however doesn't sellout that easily.. So I'd vote, in the words of Stevie, "Not. Gonna. Happen.":distress:

For me, the definitive Rumours documentary was the 1997 Classic Albums Fleetwood Mac: Rumours. Everything after that was more of the same, except Destiny Rules and the old Tusk doc. I mean, all other recent FM docs are mainly about Rumours, where they repeated what people learned with the´97 doc. And with few minutes of the post Rumours years.

The only thing I'd find interesting is if they went into more detail about the 80s albums, and the tours in general. I hope the Apple doc does that. But in this case the news are about the 50th anniversary of Rumours, so I'm not expecting anything new in terms of documentaries.
