Apparently we’re finally getting a GD reissue after all these years.
Better late than never, but they still should have done this in 1998 and extended The Dance tour without Christine.

I’ve said for years that 1998 was the optimal time to release it and they were absolutely foolish for not figuring that out at the time. But this group of people have never been too great at not stepping on their own tails

Love how the album title has his name first, but the Billboard has her name first. If you don't think managers and lawyers spend time fighting for things like that, I have a bridge to sell you.....:lol:
I think these days sh&t like that matters more to her than him, but who knows. They're both narcissists.
I would totally love to know what the process of putting this all together was like, because it would for sure have been a lot more tense than the SYW album and that got really f***ed up by the end.... Like, were they ever in the studio working with whomever to remix it, or did they each come and go separately and put a producer in the middle?? What were the fights, because we know there were some... Who gets what cut? Do we really think they are splitting the royalties 50-50??
I am betting that her vocals are even further upfront in the mixes
Will there be a booklet? Will there be bunches of new photos from the era? Are there ones we haven't already seen? What additional studio-recorded songs or demos will be on there? Will there be any live BN tracks??
Questions questions questions. Guess we'll all find out on Sept 19. Her tour breaks (as of now) 7 Sept until 1 October this year, so that leaves about a two week window for BN promotion.......

This is a well planned, coordinated, and invested roll out.
Stevie's tour is planned and routed months in advance. It has open days September 8 through September 30. Those 23 consecutive off days are not by coincidence. Plenty of time for an all platform media campaign blitz.
Two weeks ago came the subtle mutual following of both principles' social media accounts.
Last week the Mick with Fleetwood Mac social media jams to, praises and hints about Frozen Love.
Stevie and Lindsey with the coordinated social media of the Frozen Love lyrics in their individual penmanship.
This week the billboard on Sunset.
This is not going to be a simple drop of the remastered tracks to digital streaming services. They intend to feed then monster and fuel the big machine.

You are right. I still want to know why Mick was involved. Why did he roll it out? I do not believe he was just helping two friends promote an album. They are doing something that he will participate in. That is where my money is.

I’m torn.
I’ll buy it but I’m not at all thrilled to see the two of them coordinating on social media. Stevie treated Lindsey abominably in 2018 and since. If he crawls back to her, then it’ll be sad sad sad….

He's already done a lot of crawling. He has made it abundantly clear he wants to do something with her. Yes, the groveling has been painful. He shouldn't even be talking to Mick, let alone her.
However, I will buy the reissue and whatever else they are planning to sell, including concert tickets. I am weak that way.

If this goes beyond just the album being rereleased, it also says a lot about Stevie. How could anyone take her seriously after all the things she's said about Lindsey?

Well, it's Fleetwood Mac people. I know it's not the same but I didn't think Lindsey would return to the band until the Twisted song. Same with Christine until 2013. But I think (and want) this is all just about the BN release. I don't see a tour. Maybe there will be a small performance in The Tonight Show or similar, where I would love to see them ask her Hey, didn't you say you would never share the stage with Lindsey again?

.
Although it's not a solo album, it's a good strategy to boost her tour sales. I think it's a good idea for marketing purposes. I wonder how Lindsey will take advantage of this moment.
No idea if Mick will do something to benefit himself. Another Mac album release would be nothing new. Or maybe his post was just to send a Hurrah to his friends.

If they had rereleased it in 1998, it would have been the album's 25th anniversary. Plus, Stevie and Lindsey would've been on a far better footing with each other at the time. Would've been a perfect time. But no, that would've made too much sense.

Exactly. What about the Mirage concert that was just released a few years ago. The Dance was a #1 live album. Imagine releasing Mirage live right after the Dance. The Dance spiked all Mac album sales including the vintage ones. Yet they sat on this incredible live show forever. The Mirage concert is probably one of my favorite albums of all time. The live Gypsy, Love In Store, Landslide, Hold Me, Eyes of the World and Sara are impeccable. Its the last up-tempo Landslide by the band before it became a slower sing along spectacle.
I sure hope it’s worth the wait. Most of us I’m sure has a decent cd and vinyl of Buckingham Nicks (I do) I’m not sure with Lindsey and Stevie still owning the rights may have the control of what will be included in the release. Several songs from this era were released on Stevie’s 24 Karat Gold release. It would be great to have some of these songs released with a early 1970’s vocal.

Is that CD the unofficial Japan edition? I have the whole album in mp3, but I can't remember who shared it to me, or if it was a ledgie. But it is good quality, probably ripped from a CD.
Are there other CD editions?

I'm most curious about any extras/bonus material they might offer on a deluxe edition. The coffee plant demos are an obvious choice along with a repress of the 45 single of Crying In The Night with the electric guitar mix.
I wonder if they found anything in the vaults that none of us have heard yet. That would be really cool. There's always talk about the follow up Buckingham Nicks album they had started, but I always got the impression it never got past the demo phase.
Regarding the billboard, it's kinda crazy to think they didn't even do a billboard when Christine came back to the band and the tour was announced.

I want the billboard to be the BuckVie cover, with a pic of Old Goatsy in the bottom corner, with a no symbol over her face. And a caption that says, THIS WAS FM'S LAST ALBUM, BUT STEVIE WOULDN'T ALLOW IT.

I liked a lot that Cathouse song and the That's Alright version. But that Rhiannon track didn't convince me. Lindsey did a great job with that song when they were already in Fleetwood Mac.
11. Crying In The Night [Single Version] [Bonus Track] [36:03]

What did they have for BN2 that ended up on the white album? Clearly Rhiannon, but also Landslide? I'm So Afraid? Monday Morning?
We seem to have gotten far more of what Stevie had in the vault from those days over the years, but what old songs of Lindsey's are there from that era??
I think they should have the original album, the demos, the live stuff, and then a disc that is "BN2" with all the songs that would have been on it in whatever form those songs still exist in from that time... whether they are just demos, or if they got some into more produced versions (they were using the second studio at Sound City to make the album on spec, so some of them had to have more produced versions, where are those master tapes?). That would be pretty amazing, I think...to hear the album that would have been had Mick not stumbled by.

LOL that's hilarious. The BuckVie version with Stevie in the corner should say "I don't understand their premise"
This entire Buckingham Nicks situation is hilarious. We went from "I never want to share the stage with Lindsey again" to the Buckingham Nicks cover plastered on a billboard over Sunset Strip with the media going crazy over it. I'm shocked that of all time periods to make this happen and to hash out the details involved, it's somehow happening now.

I know I'll probably get a sh&t storm for this, but part of my brain has this niggling sense that maybe they are doing this now because there is something going on health-wise or whatever for one of them that makes it more imperative to do it before it's too late. Fire away.
And even if there is no imminent health crisis, I still imagine that time and age have played a big part... I mean jiminy crickets in 3 years she'll be 80 (2028) and in 4 years he will be. Time waits for no one. And yet another one has just bit the dust... news just came out today Ozzy died (yeah yeah he had other issues)..... I mean, if they are not thinking of death they are idiots. I am thinking of it and I am a generation away from death (I hope). My mother is 88, with dementia, so … The Mac wakes up every day to hear that one of their peers has died.
I hope Ozzy died of natural causes. If he did, I think that is a fine way to go. He was on top of the world just a few days ago. His family was at that last concert, his kids and grandkids, so proud of his legacy. He couldn’t walk any more, but the fans let him know he was still a legend. Actually I don't think in that possibility, but everything is possible. Cause why they didn't do this after Lindsey had his heart surgery? They must have been worried at that time too. could it be because it was very recent and the feelings, resentments, etc. were still very intense? I don't know.

He had Parkinson’s. At one point, he even said there was a decent chance he could die during the show. Getting through that show was what he was living for. Dying a few weeks later is very common with people living to make one last milestone.

you do also wonder if the effort and energy it took to get through that last show really took a lot out of him.. the rehearsals, the show itself, all the meeting and greeting backstage.... The fact that he had to do the whole show sitting down was a pretty stark indication...who knows.

Absolutely. Ozzy wasn’t leaving anything on the table. His mortality was imminent and out of his control, however, he was saying goodbye on his own terms, even if it shortened the amount of time he had left.
And can you blame him? Would you rather spend maybe six months in bed being an end-stage Parkinson’s patient or one month with a chance to be Ozzy F*****g Osbourne one last time? Choice seems pretty obvious to me.

Now that you mentioned the F word ;) , I just imagined a FX serie Feud season of this endless fight, though I don't think that coming in the short term. The previous season were about people who had already passed away. Bette & Joan, Capote vs the Swans. But there is lot of material to inspire a long season.

I didn’t know she called Prince her best friend, too. That’s funny.

even funnier if you ever watch the video by one of Prince's recording engineers who he was friends with... she tells the story of Stevie dancing around Prince at some party, flinging her skirts around while commando and Prince just cringing and hiding behind the engineer.

But be honest. I have evolved from loving Stevie very much to really hating her guts and thinking of her as dead. Even so, I don't see her going commando. Do you? That's not her idea of sexy.
She is just not that type. If the guy said that she had some lacy beautiful undergarments on that she thought would be alluring and kept flinging up her skirt, I would believe that. But she ain't Sharon stoning.
I did roll my eyes when she said Prince wanted to be with her, though. Also, didn't she say she bested him at basketball? What a psycho.
It reminds me of when I read Barbara Eden's autobiography and every single man she ever met was desperate to have her. Plus, she understudied for Lauren Bacall in a play once and she was so popular that no one wanted Lauren Bacall to ever come back to the cast. I was reading and thinking, "Jeanie, you have got to get a grip."

Depends on which version of Stevie it was. It’s absolutely something I wouldn’t have put past THIS iteration of Stevie.

See, even during that era, she may be wigged out on klonopin, but she is still wearing 5 layers of clothes. I see her as the type who thinks clothes are sexier than bare skin.
Regarding the billboard, I do think that sped up video of them hanging it was pretty cool.
These people have been historically bad at marketing, but this time around I think they have successfully fed into the frenzy in a way that will make it increase. They are laying it on us , not all at once, but drip by drip.
I agree with Soul Drifter though: the High Fidelity selling out before we even knew it was on sale is frustrating. As with concert tickets, they need to devise a way of selling this stuff so that the fans have an opportunity to purchase and it's not just the resellers getting rich by scalping us.

Ever since The Dance, Stevie’s taken on a godmother-like persona. If/when the time comes, I absolutely see her doing that.

She’ll have someone invent a motorized throne, complete with pyrotechnics.
Unfortunately, her wig will catch fire, ironically during “Rooms on Fire” and everyone will think it was intentional.

So to be fair, the engineer, a woman, said about Stevie that her a$$ was hanging out.... and to me that means nekkid, but maybe she had on a thong...? Who knows. I think Stevie goes wayyyy overboard in selling herself as "prudish" (I laugh hysterically every time I hear her say that) because...let's be brutally frank.... the woman nailed every guy she could. Her choice and I'm fine with that, but in the spirit of 'don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining', don't tell me that you got freaky with everyone and their brother and then say you are "prudish"..
ETA: One of the things I found most interesting in the Rolling Stone interview she did a couple or so years ago she said "I've worked very hard to be who people think I am". Now, think about that for a bit. She didn't say be who she IS, naturally, she basically said she worked very hard to create the image people have of her. The *real* Stevie drops f-bombs, has/had lots of sex, lots of drugs, she always tried to paint it like she just stayed quietly in her hotel room on the road like a nun...she actually said once that she and the girls couldn't go out to clubs etc on the road because they would just automatically be classified as "loose, roaming women". Please...stories of her hitting clubs on the Sunset Strip etc in the 80s abound. Boy do I recall way back when I discovered she actually smoked cigarettes and was TOTALLY freaked out about it, never ever thinking in a million years she was a smoker because she always went on and on about her fragile voice and having to protect it...etc. Lots of smoke and mirrors with that one (pun intended)
Depends on which version of Stevie it was. It’s absolutely something I wouldn’t have put past THIS iteration of Stevie.
Yes, it would have been around this time so.... I can totally see it also. I see this era Stevie and I imagine she's zonked out and reeks of cigarettes and poor hygiene.

This is something I can totally see and am betting on.

Well who does appear in the Personnel section of its Wikipedia page is Irving Azoff, part of the management team. No surprise if she considers him a best friend.

Will there be a booklet? Will there be bunches of new photos from the era? .
Apparently there will be. We'll see how much new material (pictures, text) there will be.

this looks like a single folded sheet, so 3-4 pages of text at best, although from this it looks like most of the write up is on those inner 2 pages. I've seen a few snippets of what Lindsey and Stevie gave them as quotes and clearly we get the contact prints from the cover shoot. The other pics look like photos of the boxes that contained the master tapes (which were stashed by Stevie and her people according to Lindsey a few years back.... so you know, other people can have legal rights to them but try actually getting your hands on them... she/her team are very cagey), which have been seen before.
So far honestly i'm not feeling compelled to spend more money on these people to replace my original with this

Hopefully the 180G vinyl reissue will drive the price down a little on the original 1973 pressings. I used to have BN on vinyl up to 10+ years ago, but not anymore. I miss it.
It doesn't look like we're getting any bonus tracks on streaming or anything, which is a damn shame. :( Lindsey and Stevie have so many demos and things from the era that could be on this set, but nope. Disappointed, but not entirely surprised.
I have an original that my husband bought me years ago.
I don’t even know exactly where it is…
So I won’t be buying this new version…

Exactly. The repackagings are so lame(even though this one may stand out).
I bought my LAST Rumours in 2003.
It's too bad these old farts can't come up with anything new to purchase.
