I didn't want to title this thread with the news headline I found, because I really didn't want this to lead to anything further. And I don't really think it means much. I just hope they close their chapters on a good note, but that's all.

Also I don't know how reliable this is. The only fact, if it's true, is that "they weren’t connected on social media as of three weeks ago".

When you add this to the stuff Mick said not long ago it points in the direction of them making peace. When Christine passed Mick said Fleetwood Mac was done. Then not long ago he left the door open.
I have always believed and stated on this board for years they will be on the same stage again. It could be once, twice or a mini tour but I always thought it would happen. Why do I say this? Because I know this band and its members. Stevie does not have many tours left and I think she wants to go full circle and make everyone forget the past and paint herself as a saint for forgiving Lindsey.
Its all so predictable. Mick needs money. He's not had big paydays for sometime now. I can almost hear him begging Stevie. Come on girl, do it for me one more time. The creditors are calling.
Sheryl Crow tweeted her cousin plays bass which is another sign.

Other option I see is farewell Stadiums London NYC Chicago LA

Chances that Stevie has any control over her instagram, less than zero. Lindsey might at least share a login with his management. He programmed Fairlights after all....

I dont think there is any kind if “reunion” in the works. Theres the Rhino hi-fi of the white album coming out as well as the rhino “reserves” edition of Tango being released. The Tango reissue is believed to be the first time the album has ever been cut directly from the masters (folks working on the project are lretty confident safety copies were always used). The white album had damage to certain areas of the masters that prevented them being used in decades, it has now been restored and like Tango, it’s the first time the album has been cut directly from the masters in decades.

That "magic then, magic now" that Mick wrote seems to be on purpose to generate expectations. It doesn't make me happy. But I reiterate that if they've closed the chapter and everything is now at peace, good for them. That's all.

Prediction:
In the interview I posted above, the one guy mentioned while talking about the white album release that comes with a limited edition 45 - there would be more 45s in the near future, but didn't elaborate which artist etc.

They could be releasing Buckingham Nicks with a limited edition repress of the Crying In The Night (electric version) 45 with picture sleeve. The OG is shown at the link below.

Well if three people are posting hints, there's something going on, that's for sure.

Why would Mick post something if it's a Bucking Nicks new release? What if... and I am just asking, not wishing, they are planning of recording a Buckingham Nicks 2, with Mick on drums? Then the "meet you there" + "go forward" make more sense.

Though a concert would be more possible. I don't believe they are thinking in recording.

Anyway, they managed to light the fuse. Theare are already many articles in magazine websites with theories about those posts.

I think Rhino is going to give us Buckingham Nicks on CD, at long last.

The CD could contain all sorts of things. I remember Lindsey and Stevie talking about what a CD might contain. Lindsey said he would like to make some modifications, and Stevie preferred to release the album as it was recorded in 1973. A big CD package could include the untouched 1973 album on one disk and new versions or never-released songs (“Sorcerer,” “Candlebright,” “Without You,” “Baby, It’s True,” “Going Home”) on the other disk.

In terms of live appearances, there’s something sort of weird in putting out something that shows you in your glorious youth and then trying to re-create it at age 80. The odds are stacked against you.

I think a BN re-release is almost certain given the PR they are rolling out. I'm not sure about a tour, but Mick being a part of the PR makes me think there will be something he can be involved in like a live show or maybe some sort of documentary where they can all be interviewed separately?

Honestly, after the faux-mance of 1997-2018 and then the gaslighting/litigation/sniping of 2018-present, I don't have much interest in an LB/SN live show. BN is one of the few projects that would entice me to go and see them, even though I suspect my reaction to any between song banter/storytelling would be an eye roll so massive I might fall over from the force.

So predictable. I have been stating this on the message board for years as many insisted that the coffin was nailed shut.
Never again. Never.

Rest assured. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham will reunite on stage.

There is absolutely nothing that will keep narcissists from seeking the spotlight. Fights, feuds, disagreements — nothing.

If you go forward…..I’ll meet you there.

I haven't been able to get on here til today but was wondering if anyone would start a thread on this.

The first bits of everyone freaking coz S&L official accounts started following one another I was like meh.

Then the video of Mick playing Frozen Love I was like ok something's deffo up.

Then the quotes from the lyrics, which I first saw on Lindsey's social media and learned from people's comments that she had also posted a lyric....

WTAF is going on here.

Now, in addition to a re release of the album, which seems real, there's another rumor going around-- someone has been following court filings and such and reports that Lindsey and his wife were supposed to have a court hearing (presumably about divorce) this summer, but which has been now postponed until October of this year. Lots of speculation that whatever was going to happen with the BN stuff [or FM stuff or whatever was clearly coming because it wasn't entirely clear at first if they were all dropping hints about BN album or FM reunion or what] would happen after the court case. The realllllly out-there shippers are dreaming that he and his wife are finally going to go through with a divorce, the BN album will come out, and S&L will finally end up in each other's arms at last.......

I agree with whoever (David?) said that two almost 80 year olds going out and trying to recreate music they made at 23 or whatever is just..... Aside from the ick of it, (especially given the nastiness of Lindsey's firing) neither of them can perform vocally the way they did then, and it would just sound....:distress: Case in point, go listen to their remake of Without You. Absolutely gross.

There's no way Stevie is going to work with or co-release music/perform together onstage with a person she's called useless and not in good health.

You also have many who say Lindsey can't sing or play live and that he lip syncs.

There's no benefit to Stevie to doing anything with Lindsey. She's touring hockey arenas. She doesn't need the Fleetwood Mac name anymore.

This Frozen Love post by her is all in response to Mick's post and that's it, imo.

ok but...why would Mick be posting about Frozen Love at all?? Sure, that got them (in a way) into FM, but if there's a re release of the white album, why promote the BN album??

S&L (especially her) don't know the ins and outs of social media, but their teams certainly do. The following each other stuff was so obviously intentional PR.... for what? How would that matter, really, to promote a remixed/rerelease of the white album?? It would sure stir up excitement about at BN re-release though.

I don't know if they would perform together again period let alone without the buffer of the rest of the remaining members of the band (and I'd be against it) but can totally see the album remaster and release, because jeebus how many DECADES have they been asked about that in interviews? I think they both know if they don't do it while they are alive, someone will absolutely do it after one or both of them is dead. Neither will want the other to have that kind of control so...... time has played its card.

Having the buffer of FM members Mick, John, and Christine (starting in 2014) didn’t even get her to make an album with them since they started trying in 2008.

I think Mick just made the post about Frozen Love because it was his hearing that song that brought about The White Album lineup and there’s a 50th Anniversary reissue of said album coming out.

The remaster seems pretty certain to me....

but.....a FM tour?

First, it's highly doubtful John would ever tour again.:distress: Is it really FM if the Mac isn't there?? Not for me it isn't. :distress: Would this stop the others from doing a cash grab tour? Never. The greed is strong with this bunch.

So, ok, that leaves the remaining 3 little piggies:

1) We KNOW Mick would do it in a heartbeat  No further discussion required on that.

2) Years ago, I would have followed this by saying that Stevie would do it but Lindsey would be the holdout. NOW, however, sadly, it's Lindsey who would be the second one to sign on for it. You know, to 'come full circle' and 'fulfill their destiny' and to 'respect the legacy we've spent 50 years building' and 'honor the body of work' and blah blah blah.......

3) Which brings us to Stevie who has SWORN she will never, ever be onstage again with Lindsey, and she's given him '80 million gazillion chances' and she's just "done" and.... as noted she can sell plenty of tickets and get plenty of media coverage all by herself, thankyouverymuch and don't forget to curtsey on your way out.

That said, Mama does love her some money....and though you'd think she sure as shootin' would have more than enough to die with by now and leave her nearest and dearest set for life, enough is really never enough for her. Touring is where the big bucks are....think of how much (some) people would pay to see that tour..... And she does have a mega powerful team on her side that would knuckle the other knuckleheads under for every extra dime to ensure she gets the most along with all the other perks.....and a tour would soooooooooooooooo be the talk of the town which she loves.

Which is to say...is there a universe in which she would agree to do it? Yes.
Will that universe be the one in which we all currently live? I'm thinking no.:sorry:

As for an album, that is a total non-negotiable NO from her

You make really good points. And I most agree with you that there will never be a performance of Stevie, Mick, John, and Lindsey on stage ever again.
Just on the point about John...in the universe that we don't live in where there would be a FM tour or final farewell one night only, if John doesn't do it - the only reason I see Lindsey doing a one night only or tour without John is if a statement is put out prior to the show like The Stones did in 2021 while Charlie was dealing with his illness which I think was cancer and after Charlie passed where it was shared that Charlie said to proceed with Steve Jordan as the drummer and it was Charlie's desire that the band proceed and he handpicked Steve. So like: John handpicked Fed Pol or Al Ortiz (Stevie would get her guy for this)

Nobody in the band or the band's team disputed that Lindsey wouldn't agree to doing the 2013 Australia and New Zealand tour because Mick and Stevie wanted a substitute for John.

Edited to add this fun video of Lindsey and John at LAX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEdu8989L5Y&t=37s

I hope Homer is right; that seems to be the most logical interpretation of these smoke signals and I would certainly buy the Buckingham Nicks re-issue, assuming it's not only going to be available in some ridicuously expensive format. I suppose Mick, Stevie & Lindsey and some hired hands could perform as FM with John's blessing, but I would pass on that.

Perhaps time is catching up with Stevie and Lindsey. There's a video of Lindsey on youtube, ostensibly talking in part about SYW where he's looking a bit old. I hope he's ok. T.e title of the video also seems a bit cryptic

Yes we all hope Fleetwood Mac is over. But the issue may or may not happen whether we hope or not. We all know Mick needs money. We all know Mick openly spoke about a year ago "hoping" Stevie and Lindsey will reconcile. Now the speculation part. Am I the only one that thinks Mick has been working Stevie for some time now? I find that completely plausible and would be shocked if Mick was not working the ropes not even including the smoke signals in these cryptic messages.
Mick did a complete 180 from when Chris passed. That is far more revealing than these cryptic messages. We know Mick wants it. Lindsey has always said he would go back. Its only Stevie. I think Mick will persuade her in some way. Mick would sell Biddy's undies so him going forward without John would not be surprising in the least.

If the they do anything - my wish would be that they play the album live with an extremely small band, as close to an "unplugged" set as you can get. Like Say You Love Me from The Dance or Gypsy from the AHI show in 2001. Film it for an additional DVD/CD release. If they wanted to do live shows, play theatres not arenas. Some sort of stadium/arena show to celebrate Buckingham Nicks just isn't the right fit for the material or their voices. I don't necessarily crave a tour for this release, but a really thoughtful performance of the material in an intimate setting could be amazing. I fear if they agree to do anything live there is going to be way too much pressure for them to turn this into another cash grab in huge venues.

I really hope they sat down with Jimmy Wachtel to talk about the cover photo shoot. Of all the folks in the Fleetwood Mac orbit who have been interviewed over the years, there is next to nothing on the record from him. That should be an extra as part of this set.

I would love it if Lindsey, Stevie, and Mick did a tour like you suggested. However, I don’t think they would play theatres, unfortunately, just for the reason you said. Their handlers are going to want to make the most out of this they can.

As for an interview with Waddy, I kind of suspect he avoids the press a little since his arrest for child pornography. I believe he was acquitted, or the charges dropped, or something like that, but he’s probably gun shy about the press now.

As for BN doing any sort of show(s), big or small, with the likes of Waddy etc.... recall a number of years back now when people were pestering them about re-releasing the album and they each had very different ideas (I think this was that interview where they talked to S&L separately and the reporter was telling Lindsey what Stevie had answered to various questions and got Lindsey's opinion-- Rolling Stone maybe???) anyway Stevie had said like yeah we could release it and then tour with like Waddy Wachtel and stuff... and when the reporter told LB this his response was a classic Lindsey passive-aggressive thing of like trying to sound neutral but making it abundantly clear he thought it was a bad idea...He said something like "Oh? with Waddy Wachtel? Hmmm.....wow....."

So......that was then and this is now, and whether Lindsey is so far over the line in capitulating to Stevie and would give her whatever she wants remains to be seen.

I agree, no tour, no stadiums, I'm not even sure it should be more than one venue. Do a show and record it, like was done for The Dance (which was actually compiled from the best performances over several nights. The same would be necessary for BN, and sadly, probably lots of overdubbing like The Dance as well but oh well.....) Do it in a small, intimate venue. Then put it out as one of those lightning-in-a-bottle, once-in-a-lifetime shows captured forever on film and leave that as the final memory of it.

That is seeing it from the fan's perspective. Mick needs money. He needs some big shows so he can do his meet and greets again

How about: One final time. The Misty Mirage Goodbye tour Fleetwood Mac featuring Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow
And YES, Stevie and Lindsey will hug after Landslide and some on this board will comment how authentic it is.

The only people saying Mick is broke are the haters. There’s nothing to suggest he’s broke in reality. Even with the loss of his restaurant in the wildfires, he had insurance, not to mention selling his catalog.

the only reason I see Lindsey doing a one night only or tour without John is if a statement is put out prior to the show like The Stones did in 2021 while Charlie was dealing with his illness which I think was cancer and after Charlie passed where it was shared that Charlie said to proceed with Steve Jordan as the drummer and it was Charlie's desire that the band proceed and he handpicked Steve. So like: John handpicked Fed Pol or Al Ortiz (Stevie would get her guy for this)

Thing is, the Stones have consistently toured since 2012 (only missing 2020 because of COVID and 2023, when they were recording a new album), they had been those four since 1993, and, as mentioned, they were working on new music and weren’t planning on ending the band. (The lone silver lining is they brought Bill Wyman back for a couple of final songs with the full lineup.)

That’s why the Oceana situation would have been different than now. They knew Christine was rejoining and that John would be back after his treatments were finished. There was a very bright future ahead for Fleetwood Mac.

Fleetwood Mac doesn’t have a future now. Ending the band without one of its namesakes who was on every album, would be sacrilegious. If Lindsey, Stevie, and Mick need to tour together, just call it Buckingham Nicks. They could have their full circle, wound healing reconciliation and still respect the McVies.

Mick has been cheerleading for a reconciliation between Lindsey and Stevie for quite a while now, that's most likely why he's involved in the latest PR push for what looks to be a BN reissue.

If they do anything live, I agree that it should be billed as a Buckingham Nicks event with guest Mick Fleetwood. Reissuing BN and tacking it onto some sort of Fleetwood Mac tour without John would be a really weird combo. The pessimist in me is still thinking Irving will do everything in his power to make this some sort of FM event.

But the amount of press this has gotten is shocking to me, and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if their handlers said “look at how this news has taken off!” So now, as a result of the flurry of activity those two posts have set off, I really think Lindsey, Stevie, and Mick are going to do something more. A crucifix fell from my wall when I read this. You really think Mick is concerned about being sacrilegious? The guy who fired the band's guitarist and producer that made him rich. The guy that fired his lead singer by fax machine. The guy that held on to a song he did not write just so a former lead singer could not put it on her solo album. The guy that meets fans at concerts with outrageous ticket prices and charges them $500 to meet him and get a photo next to his drums. The guy that refused to give Bob Welch proper royalties. The guy that smeared Lindsey Buckingham in the press. The guy that has lost house after house due to bankruptcy. The guy that bought drugs in Lindsey's driveway. The guy that dumped Stevie for her best friend and cheated on her one year into the marriage. The guy that sold his Rock n Roll Hall of Fame award along with his Rumours balls to the highest bidder.

The re-release seems to be a done deal at this point. I am not sure they can avoid doing press around it? Stevie has her solo commitments through the fall and I don't think anything will happen before that although her gift for the mentionitist will likely help stoke the fire. I could see the 3 of them doing something tour wise together, I can't see why Mick would lay that first easter egg if he wasn't part of something bigger? But if they were to tour, and its a big BUT, it wouldn't be as FM, it would be BN, Mick on drums, maybe they play Buckingham Nicks through cover to cover and then sprinkle "their" FM songs in at the end? Supporting band can be Waddy, Neal, Stevie's band and Lindsey and Waddy can fight over who gets to play "Landslide" with her. :). Something tells me Waddy would concede nightly to avoid the eggs and tomatoes that would get thrown at him by the crowd :)
All speculation, but the album rerelease I feel is in the bag. FINALLY!!!

Re, the Australia and New Zealand 2013 Tour - you don’t give any props to Lindsey for saying no to proceeding without John? John and Lindsey may’ve not been best friends but they engaged with each other during GYOW in the last few years and LB even tried to to the twist or waltz with him at MusiCares. The most I see Stevie do to him is point at her nose to him. Again, I think Stevie despises Lindsey and never wants to see him again. To me this is about The White Album rerelease.

I really don't think this is all that deep. Frozen Love was the song that turned Mick's ear to Lindsey's playing which of course led to his (and Stevie's) hiring. In that sense, it makes sense that it's being used as a promotional tool for a modern release. Also, the fact he's listening to a digital copy shows that someone has been working on the masters at some point whether it's recent or some time in the past.

For Lindsey and a backup band to learn the Buckingham Nicks songs would take months and months of rehearsing — and programming. It’s a huge undertaking for the elderly, and everybody in the “family” is old now.

I was just listening to Stevie’s 24 Karat concert CD and was kind of shocked at how much dexterity that band of hers has lost. They play at a retirement community pace.

And, really, when you listen to Stevie, Lindsey, and Mick play onstage nowadays, do you want to hear them try to sing and play “Without a Leg to Stand On,” “Crystal,” “Long Distance Winner,” “Don’t Let Me Down Again,” and “Frozen Love”?

One possibility we hadn’t thought of in relation to all this press and buzz, is it possible that the two ex-lovers have signed a suicide pact?

You know Stevie was talking out of her a** with that “idea” about a BN tour, right? I mean you’re a long term fan. That was her Orange Rally incoherent stream of consciousness. She talked about doing it in between legs of FM tours - Lindsey said essentially it would be economically suicidal. Stevie wasn’t sincere about doing a BN tour, she just indulged and excited interviewers. That 2013 FM tour Lindsey mentioned Stubner or Marty Hom told him if they lost some of the stage pieces they’d save thousands. Lindsey was being the economic one then.
Lindsey wasn’t opposed to a BN tour; it was doing enough to make it profitable. Irving was his manager which probably made him think economics then and Lindsey was happy because new FM music was coming out in the EP so he essentially wasn’t doing an oldies tour. All love to you!

The guy who fired the band's guitarist and producer that made him rich.

The choice was that or tour without the singer who’s in the Hall of Fame as a solo artist. We weren’t getting the Rumours lineup regardless of how it played out and that wasn’t his fault and certainly not his choice.

The guy that fired his lead singer by fax machine.

Eh, if someone in my band ever said they wished they were in R.E.O. Speedwagon instead, I’d probably do the same.

That said, it’s still nowhere near as bad as when Greg Allman fired Dickey Betts by fax while Dickey was being interviewed by a guitar magazine.

The guy that held on to a song he did not write just so a former lead singer could not put it on her solo album.

That was out of his control. Warner owns the release rights for “Silver Springs”. Labels own the release rights for ten years after the last time a work is in-print, hence why “Silver Springs” was released as a b-side to “Don’t Stop” in 1988 as part of Warner’s Back-To-Back Hits series of 45s. (My friend signed away the release rights to his first few albums that he made when music was a glorified hobby when he signed to his first label, the last being considered one of his classics. Every ten years or so, those get special edition reissues.)

The guy that meets fans at concerts with outrageous ticket prices and charges them $500 to meet him and get a photo next to his drums.

Who’s forcing them to pay that? Anyway, it’s a fairly common practice these days.

The guy that refused to give Bob Welch proper royalties.

We don’t know the whole story, but, I never said the guy was a saint. That was BS. That being said, who did Bob contact almost immediately after the lawsuit settled? I seem to recall Bob saying Mick was the only human in the band on here when he was organizing a fund raiser for Wendy.

In fact, ever notice how they ALWAYS come back to Mick? Stevie, Bob, Billy, Rick, Bekka, Mason, Lindsey…Nobody ever stays mad.

And, when Christine decided she wanted to get back to the world, who did she call? Who did she fly with?

The guy that smeared Lindsey Buckingham in the press.

And St. Lindsey didn’t smear him right back, right?

The guy that has lost house after house due to bankruptcy.

The guy that bought drugs in Lindsey's driveway.

Dude was an addict.

The guy that dumped Stevie for her best friend and cheated on her one year into the marriage.

We’re not really going to shame Mick for cheating on Stevie as if she wasn’t getting around, are we? And, sure, it must have sucked for Sara, but I seem to recall she was married to Jim Recor when she got together with Mick. I also seem to recall her posing for Playboy after her divorce from Mick. NONE of these people live by proper Midwestern values, which kind of goes with the territory.

The guy that sold his Rock n Roll Hall of Fame award along with his Rumours balls to the highest bidder.

Can’t take it with you. They were probably just gathering dust in storage. What about Christine and her estate selling off gold and platinum records?

Yes for sure he would not call any hodge podge scrappy reunion Fleetwood Mac.

Maybe he would. That said, I said it would be sacrilegious. Never said it was beneath any of them.

However, I don’t think Mick would do a farewell scenario without John. I also take Stevie at her word about not being interested in doing Fleetwood Mac without Christine. Lindsey would, but it seems to be more to properly close the book on him and Stevie, plus I also don’t think he’d be interested in Fleetwood Mac without John for the same reason he refused to even consider Oceana without John. So, if the three of them do get back together, doing so as Buckingham Nicks makes the most sense.

The guy that bought drugs in Lindsey's driveway.

I thought the story was that Lindsey let the drug dealer stay in a camper in his driveway so Mick would have easier access to drugs. We in the rehab biz would call that “enabling.” Beyond enabling, actually. I’ve always thought that story reflected more poorly on Lindsey than Mick. I’m very glad Mick and Lindsey are in a much better place in their lives now than they were 40 years ago.

HAHA I actually really agree with you. That’s why I really think the only way they could pull this off well is to do it in some kind of unplugged, scaled back performance. It would require a TON of effort to put it together. They have largely been able to pull the Fleetwood Mac tours out of their a$$es since 2009 without really needing to learn anything new.

Do I really want to see some arena show with their usual arsenal cranking through Frozen Love? Nope.

Stevie’s band is so freaking stale. She’s auto-piloted that show out the wazoo. I hope the paycheck is good because they all look like they could order takeout and play a round of poker while playing that set. I still say those club shows she did with the Foo Fighters were the most interesting live thing she’s done since the Enchanted tour.

I gotta hand it to folks like Dr. John or Dylan that get to a point where they know they need some fresh air and they basically hire an entire brand new band for the next project etc.

Just an FYI, I think Wyman only played on one song “Live By The Sword.” I don’t get the Stones point sorry. I can try and reread it to make sense- I was just saying John would need to publish a statement telling he handpicked a bass player.

Except, the situation leading up to Charlie’s announcement wouldn’t be comparable. The Stones played on as they’d been doing with Charlie’s blessings on the assumption he’d be back. What you’re talking about would have worked in 2013, but not so much in 2025.

Fleetwood Mac had a scandalous, acrimonious episode that saw Lindsey fired and two new guys taking over. Then Christine died. So, to go from that to the SYW lineup minus John is a stretch, especially in the context of it being a farewell type scenario.

That was my point.

Re, the Australia and New Zealand 2013 Tour - you don’t give any props to Lindsey for saying no to proceeding without John? It’s my understanding they didn’t know Christine was joining until January 2014. That’s per all the press and interviews I’ve read. If Stevie was the one who said she wouldn’t do the 2013 Final Leg without John, would you honestly within your heart not give her props? Just sincerely curious.

Christine did an article with The Guardian dated 12 Dec 2013 where she said "If they were to ask me, I would probably be very delighted”. That was a month and a half after the tour was canceled.

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/dec/12/fleetwood-mac-stevie-nicks-christine-mcvie-nuns

Considering she was at the hotel for the last show before the 2013 tour was canceled, it was pretty obvious her return was imminent. Mick even said “it’s the worst kept secret” when he made the announcement.

Regarding the whole Oceana situation, the doctors are the only ones who get the props.

Exploring all options, reviewing contracts, and seeing which obligations are covered by insurance in that moment wasn’t wrong. We don’t know what the conversations were. John might well have given his blessings once he knew he couldn’t go. I’m glad it didn’t come to that and I’m sure they’re all glad it didn’t come to that. It was never the first choice.

That Christine was returning and that John’s cancer was caught early enough to be treatable, they knew there was a future, so it was an easy call. Whether or not it was Lindsey or Stevie who made the call isn’t especially relevant to me.

To me this is about The White Album rerelease.

One possibility we hadn’t thought of in relation to all this press and buzz, is it possible that the two ex-lovers have signed a suicide pact?

Been there done that already, in 2003!

Do a show and record it, like was done for The Dance (which was actually compiled from the best performances over several nights. The same would be necessary for BN, and sadly, probably lots of overdubbing like The Dance as well but oh well.....) Do it in a small, intimate venue. Then put it out as one of those lightning-in-a-bottle, once-in-a-lifetime shows captured forever on film and leave that as the final memory of it.

i sort of agree. The album deluxe re-release (with the 'second' album demos and live shows+ single mixes) and then a one-off show that is filmed. I feel like there will be a documentary element too but maybe not.

I would be really interested in a documentary about the 1973 album and all events around them. Much more than a show.

But if they decide to go live, I really hope Stevie convinces Lindsey to get a different haircut. ;)

Fleetwood Mac reunion = HELL NO. Not without Christine. I seriously doubt John would say yes, anyway.

Buckingham Nicks reunion = HELL YES. Remaster and reissue the album, with bonus tracks. And a tour.

My idea for a bonus disc for a Buckingham Nicks deluxe edition that I put together a few years ago:

Disc 1: Buckingham Nicks [1973]
1. Crying In The Night
2. Stephanie
3. Without A Leg To Stand On
4. Crystal
5. Long Distance Winner
6. Don't Let Me Down Again
7. Django
8. Races Are Run
9. Lola (My Love)
10. Frozen Love

Disc 2: Demos & Live
1. Lady [demo, 1971]
2. Amber [demo, 1971]
3. Rose Garden [demo, 1971]
4. Anybody There [demo, 1972]
5. Sorcerer [demo, 1972]
6. Nomad [demo, 1972]
7. That's Alright [demo, 1972]
8. Garbo [demo, 1972]
9. Without You [demo, 1972]
10. Cathouse Blues [demo, 1972]
11. Goldfish And The Ladybug [demo, 1972]
12. When We Love Again [demo, 1972]
13. See The World Go By [demo, 1972]
14. Going Home [demo, 1973]
15. Heartbreaker (Circles In Time) [Live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama 1/28/75]

This board is 100x more entertaining than a tired, embarrassing, fragmented, inexplicable money-grab tour would be at this point. The idea of them half-heartedly shuffling onto the stage is exasperating and depressing. :( Another boxing match and pretend hug at the end? Siiiiigh. Very glad The Ledge is back up.

Need the single version of “Crying In The Night”. Waddy’s two songs, which were recorded at the same time with the same people, would be kind of interesting to add, but I could see Lindsey being a hard no on that.

I’m very glad Mick and Lindsey are in a much better place in their lives now than they were 40 years ago.

the story was that LB put the RV in his driveway to keep Mick and whoever else was hanging around OUT of his house.

Not specifically for the dealer to stay in

I don’t believe for one second that Lindsey was forced to to put an RV in his driveway in order to keep him out of his house. I’m trying to imagine such a scenario, and there’s no way. A drug dealer is lurking in Lindsey’s house, so Lindsey compromises and offers to let him stay in an RV in his driveway?

I don’t know if Mick was wasting studio time going somewhere to buy drugs and Lindsey thought it would be more time efficient or safer somehow to keep the dealer close by or what. And who knows, maybe the story is only partly true.

Mick discusses the trailer in his second book Play On. It was not Lindsey's trailer. John Courage brought the trailer. The studio was in Lindsey's house and it was brought not to disrupt his home life. In previous albums Mick and Lindsey would hang out in the studio all day and night. Mick discusses how Lindsey became all business. Mick stated that his life got weird because the days were boring which is uncommon for a rock star. He would jet to his place in Malibu at night to party with Robin Williams and Nick Nolte. That is where the indulgent Mick spent his nights. Lindsey would have never have brought a trailer to his property to encourage or engage in indulgence. Lindsey's home studio was really small and no place to hang out.

Obviously, they HAD to make Tango at Lindsey’s house because there aren’t any recording studios in Los Angeles.

Here is what Mick wrote in the first book. I couldn't find anything when did the search for "RV" but I think this is the episode, after did the search for "trailer".

It took us eighteen months, working under completely different conditions from what we were used to. We had started out at Rumbo Sound in the Valley, where the basic tracks were cut. We then moved production to the studio Lindsey built in the garage of his house, called the Slope, where we would mix and do the overdubs. It wasn't really a proper studio per se; everything was recorded right in the control room. The acoustics were the wooden floor, the bathroom, the carpet, the hallway. To minimize wear and tear to the property, John Courage brought in a trailer with phones and a TV and a place to hang out.

This arrangement changed everything. We began to work regular hours. We were all sick of cocaine and had given it up, so it was all very organized, and we got into a nice routine with few delirious moments as of yore, and almost no all-night Transcending wot I was used to. (Actually there was a little splurge of villainy early on; "Tango in the Night" was the result of a two-piece drunken Transcension between Lindsey and me. We used the drum track as the basis for the song.)

That's it. Yes he said it was for hanging out, though no dealer mentioned, at least in the first book and in this episode (there is a delaer mentioned during Rumours days). It is also interesting he wrote WE were all sick of cocaine and had given it up". Was he already sober during Tango sessions? I thought he was in the 90s, but I may be wrong.

Here's the perspective from Richard and Greg Droman:
https://www.salon.com/2017/04/02/he-could-be-brash-he-could-be-harsh-he-was-very-motivated-the-real-story-behind-fleetwood-macs-tango-in-the-night/

I think Mick was hitting the sauce more than anything at that time, not really the drugs. Or he was telling the rest of the band he wasn't doing coke and then going out to his trailer to indulge. That shoe would fit as well.

This distance wasn’t due to illicit substances, Dashut stresses. “Not many drugs — and by that time, the cocaine had pretty much gone, very little of that,” he recalls. “Plenty of marijuana, I’m sure, which we always in use as an artistic tool. By then, thankfully the cocaine age had left for us.”

However, the band members’ private personal stresses manifested in other ways. For example, the band did overdubs on the record at Lindsey Buckingham’s house. So as not to “invade his personal space and take over the inside of his house,” Dashut says the group came up with an ingenious solution.

“They rented a huge RV, like a dressing room-slash-lounge, and they would hang out out in the driveway,” he says. “And then they would come in and do their parts. It was kind of strange. It’s not like everyone was hanging out together. They would take their turns doing their parts on the record. There wasn’t as much togetherness, cohesiveness.”

If Lindsey spent round‑the‑clock hours in the studio, the total cost of renting a studio would likely have escalated to an exorbitant amount—not to mention the lost time that probably occurred due to drinking etc.

True but remember Tango was a Lindsey solo album that he was already working on at his house. So it just morphed into a Mac album. Being it was at Lindey's house gave him more control and let him avoid the insanity of the indulgent parties.
Stevie hated going to his house to record. I think Chris said she was the only member that actually enjoyed recording Tango.

Just a thought — no one in the band is ever going to come out and directly admit they put an RV in the driveway so Mick could drink or use drugs. Over the years, it seems like the band members have made a conscious effort to give Mick some grace whenever topics like this come up.

The old (Rumours days) Mick himself used to tell things like that. For example:

And the atmosphere kept getting nuttier. It was like a cocktail party all the time. The studio was full of weirdos we'd never seen before, partying with each other while we tried to work. And we were certainly doing our fair share of the old powder. There was one coke dealer who kept us supplied with high-grade Peruvian flake, and we were so grateful to him that I considered (in my state of dementia) giving him some kind of credit on the album jacket. Unfortunately he got snuffed executed! before the thing came out.

It seems he had some regrets of writing several episodes in his first book, or so I read. I guess for the second book he was more discret.

You realize what a fish out of water Mick and Stevie were for Tango? Stevie had just come off of a 2 year studio party for RAL. The Mac had huge indulgences for Rumours and Tusk. Lindsey said he had to fake going to the restroom just to escape the studio. Mirage was sort of a haunted mansion where they could escape to the French countryside and ride horses and then come back to the chateau to party, swim and eat.
For Tango there was no studio. Just a small set up in Lindsey's room. Mick was completely a fish out of water. Even Stevie his cocaine girlfriend was not there to partake in the excesses. No wonder he had to get to Malibu each night to party like crazy.

Yes, Mick is not ashamed of that. If they were being sensitive to his feelings then they might not talk about his money problems, but I don't think any of them thought about insulting him when they discuss drug use.
