In the album Wikipedia page it mentions Stevie left the band 17 songs to develop in her absence. It is actually a quote from a 2003 article in Uncut Magazine:

In 2001, when she was about to go on tour with her last solo album, she handed over a collection of 17 demos to Buckingham, Fleetwood and John Mcvie. "I went back through my vaults of tunes and picked all the ones I really liked but which for one reason or another had never seen the light of day," she recounts. Her colleagues picked five of them for the new album including "Goodbye Baby" and "Smile At You", written in 1975-76 and which "could easily have ended up on Rumours", according to Nicks.

Which songs from that list were not chosen? Does anybody know? Is the word vault a clue?

In the United States a vault is just a secure storage area.

Since there is not a SYW extended deluxe release we may never know. Please, the album gets enough hate around here don't start with the demos now

I could only imagine if they were found

They are cold, have bad mixing, missing Christine, too long, and have too much guitar.

And are they made of 24 karat gold? ;)

I thought there might be some interview where she says that some songs from her 2014 album were previously presented to the band to include them on SYW.

One of her left over demos from TISRL was given to SYW. Thrown Down was cut from her solo album and Lindsey even played on it. So that was a no brainer for SYW. Remember she just started to write again post klonopin so she had a bunch of new songs like Immune, Say You Will, and Silver Girl. But she also had classics like Running Through the Garden.

It’s also something you do with a big pole- a long stick thing, as opposed to a chap from Poland, though I appreciate that could be interchangeable

Ok I am going to battle with a Brit over the English language :). The way Stevie used it indicates its a secure storage area. "I went through my vaults" which indicates its not a long stick thing. But you never know. Stevie could have been a closet pole vaulter that tried out for the Olympics or something ;)

You know I am teasing you :) Now if I could only say what I wrote in Stevie's wonderful British accent she did welcoming back Chris, this would be golden.

I’m sure you’d manage an impeccable English accent
Though I’m Welsh, and I reckon your welsh accent would be $#!£ :D

Christine was so funny. On a few nights during OWTS when Stevie would do her cringe accent and pretend she was Chris talking, Chris would answer back to Stevie in the same cringe accent. She did it in Miami and almost everything else is on youtube but that clip is not.

Why do the backup vocals sound like Buckingham, the drums sound like Fleetwood, the acoustic and electric guitars sound like Buckingham again, and the whole general vibe like Mac? How can this be a solo session? I smell hooey.

Because Lindsey did indeed play and sing on the song but it was cut from her album.
That version is too over produced. Much better on SYW.

I've been immune to songs like Immune for 22 years now.

SYW blows goats.

According to the Say You Will info page on the Fleetwood Mac UK fan website, "Mistaken Love" and "All The Beautiful Worlds" were considered, but I haven't seen any other information to corroborate this. The latter was later redone and included on Stevie's 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault. "Not Make Believe", which was included on the limited deluxe edition of Say You Will, may have been one of the seventeen songs, but I cannot confirm this.

I do like this version as well, but I've always hated how obviously tweaked her vocals are.... including, but not limited to, the "computerized" vibrato.

IMHO the SYW version is way better. I am not a fan of TISRL and this song is a great example. Notice how the percussion is drowned out and its that same beat as most other songs on that album. That computerized description sort of nails it. The album has very few creative musical endeavors. There are about 4 good songs on it though. For SYW Lindsey really adds all these better production techniques and really shines.
Having said all this, this cut demo is better than most of the rest of TISRL and surprised it was cut. They kept That Made Me Stonger and Everyday but cut this? Stevie must of been mad at Lindsey or something.

BTW, here is Stevie talking about the origins of Thrown Down being about Lindsey. This is the song that sparked the "Would you say that to Bob Dylan" quote. Here is the band crafting Thrown Down

I’d be surprised if “Mistaken Love” were submitted, since that’s one of the “Rhiannon” songs that she’s forever claimed she’s holding back to be released as a group.

Other than that, yeah, I bet it was largely the 24K songs that she submitted, minus “Twisted” and “Carousel.” Too bad Mac didn’t do “The Dealer” - that’s such a good song and I bet she would have been able to do a better vocal for it in 2003 than she did in 2014.

And stuff like
Secret Love and
Lady from The Mountains possibly?!
