I love listening to old interviews that I never heard before. Its interesting to already know the history of what happens after it. This interview was done just as Out of the Cradle was released. Lindsey discusses his leaving Fleetwood Mac that seemed to be planned for sometime. Countdown was inspired by someone on TV that made his guitar sound like a violin. He says Buckingham/Nicks may be released next year (1994) on CD. LOL
This was the first solo album released after he left the Mac. You can sense the optimism in his voice. He clearly is very proud of it. I remember MTV played the hell out of Wong that summer. But sadly the album was considered a commercial flop. It never even cracked the top 100 in the states. It did better in Canada and the UK making the top 50. The album got stellar reviews. Lindsey gave up most synthesizers and tech stuff for guitars which I loved. The cassette stayed in my car the entire summer.

It was sad that Out of the Cradle didn't do better. it was/is an amazing album and deserved all great reviews that it got.

Does anyone know if there are any tracks out there that didn't make it onto the album? I know that because it wasn't a commercial success, it's wishful thinking to consider an expanded release with bonus tracks (or even alternate versions), but it would be wonderful.

Make Me A Mask is the only one I'm aware of.

I vaguely remember hearing that parts of "Say Goodbye" may have also been written in the early 1990s. He certainly worked on the song further beginning in the mid 1990s and had it nearly finished by 2001 for the original Gift of Screws album.

I read somewhere that it was written not long after Tango. If that is correct lyrics make so sense.
