Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham Files for Restraining Order Over Alleged Stalker, LAPD Involved

By Ryan Naumann
Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham rushed to court pleading for a restraining order against a woman he claims showed up to his house and also made death threats, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Lindsey, 75, asked for protection from a 53-year-old woman named Michelle.
The petition asked that Michelle be ordered to stay 100 yards away from him, his home, or any place he may be. He also asked that the order cover his wife, Kristen Buckingham, and his son, William Buckingham. Lindsey claimed that Michelle had left voice messages on his son’s cell phone threatening to kill him and his family. “She is a stalker who has been harassing me and my family,” the petition read.
Lindsey explained that on November 3, Michelle called 911 with a “fictitious story” about his son wanting to harm himself. He claimed Michelle told police that a gun had been fired. Officers rushed over to the home and handcuffed Lindsey when he opened the door.
The police searched for evidence but eventually uncuffed Lindsey after realizing the caller’s claims were false.
A detective with the Los Angeles Police Department filed a declaration noting she had been assigned to investigate the harassment of Lindsey and his family.
The detective said LAPD has had several encounters with Michelle since September 18 “when the suspect placed a paper taped to Lindsey and Kristen Buckingham’s residence with photographs of herself” with Lindsey, who she believes is her father.
On September 19, a security guard outside Lindsey’s home saw Michelle parked outside in her vehicle. The guard called the police.
When the police arrived, the guard said Michelle drove away and the officers followed. The police detained and questioned her “at which time she began rambling about her being the daughter of Lindsey Buckingham.”
The police told Michelle to leave and not to come back.
The detective met with Kristen in September and learned of the “history of harassment.” Kristen told the detective that her son had been receiving “concerning” voice messages on his cell for a year. The detective said she spoke to Michelle via the phone. She said Michelle admitted to calling 911 and reporting the false incident. The detective told her she needed to stop and that charges may be brought.
The detective said she believed Michelle is “mentally unstable and dangerous.” She advised the court to grant Lindsey’s restraining order request.
In a declaration, Lindsey told the court, “I am very fearful that Michelle … without restraining, will continue this conduct which continues to make me and my family fear for our safety and peace. I am afraid her conduct may escalate into something physically dangerous to me and my family.” He claimed Michelle had been harassing him and his family since 2021. He denied that he was her father. “She is clearly mentally unfit and harbors delusions which makes her scary to me and unpredictable,” Lindsey said.
The court granted Lindsey a temporary restraining order that prohibits Michelle from harassing or coming near him or his family.
A court date has been set for December 20, where Lindsey can make the case for making the order permanent.

How awful for him and his family.
Of course sadly a restraining order is just a piece of paper, and if a delusional person doesn't abide by it, it gets scary.
Kinda surprising this didn't leak out before now.
Especially scary for his son, who I am sure is out and about being a young person. Kinda surprising they cuffed LB when he answered the door......

“She is clearly mentally unfit and harbors delusions which makes her scary to me and unpredictable.”
So, Lindsey finally goes on the record with what he really thinks about Stevie!
As celebs they'd be used to the odd loon amongst otherwise "normal" fans, but clearly this went beyond annoying and became dangerous. Lindsey getting handcuffed etc at his age... not good for his heart or the family or anyone.
If this was a Cohen brothers film, he could try hiring a hitman, following which hilarity would ensue. The script almost writes itself. Here is ChatGPT's attempt:
"Final Note"
When legendary guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, now in his 70s, is plagued by an obsessed female fan who believes she is his long-lost daughter, he hires a bungling hitman to make her disappear. But with every ridiculous attempt, things spiral out of control in ways that are both hilarious and terrifying.

Ugh, crazy Michelle Ferguson. I’ve been seeing her ranting in Stevie, Lindsey, and Kristen’s comment sections for years now. Never thought she’d go nuts enough to harass them in person.
Her weird delusional belief is that she’s the child of Stevie and Lindsey and they abused her as an infant which caused her deformed nose, then they abandoned her and she was adopted by whatever actual parents raised her. Really unhinged stuff. I’m sure she’s tried to harass Stevie in some way too since she fully believes Stevie’s her mother, but I doubt she’ll ever get close enough to do anything since Stevie’s fairly unreachable and in a high up condo in a guarded building.
The crazy part is that I don’t even think she’s the most unhinged stalker in FM history. That award has to go to the dude who was convinced Stevie was a witch who could cure his homosexuality and planned to kidnap her with a net at her show and make her bear his children (while she was 50 lol). That one ended in a restraining order too. Wonder what ever happened to him.

Stevie had a crazy one named Bill Gamelson. I've got a pic of him skydiving, holding a license plate that has "Stevie" on it.

There are some certifiable weirdos out there, and some of them are dangerous, at least potentially. Stevie had one named Ronald Anacelteo years ago.
Another guy hanged himself in the parking lot at Concord Pavilion after Stevie’s concert there in 1991. (Do I have that right?)

I'm showing my age here...but I remember when Bill would go off the rails on the FM usernet newsgroups. I know the exact photo you're talking about.

I don't either. Only that he was a Stevie stalker, and I think there was a restraining order against him.
Here's some old usenet stuff I just found about him.

Stevie had one named Ronald Anacelteo years ago.
I googled that name and found an article that says: After leaving his Denver psychiatric facility, he later told police he planned to kidnap and impregnate her, since he believed her witchcraft would cure his homosexuality.
Wouldn't one spell have been enough?

I found other articles that tell he wrote Stevie got HIV, that he put her home address on the Internet so everyone could send her cards and letters of their sorrow.
Is it true that he is/was a commercial pilot? If he is not mentally well, and it seems he is not, how scary if he worked in an airline. Those behaviors are so unpredictable.

Lindsey is a much more accessible target than Stevie for this crazed lunatic. He doesn't have handlers, drives himself, his homes are public record in his own name, and not an LLC or holding corporation.
Also it seems Lindsey and Kristen remain legally married as these legal filings note her as his spouse and family, sharing the same residence.
This stuff is genuinely terrifying and probably even worse for a 75 year old man with known heart issues.

Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac has been awarded a permanent restraining order following his court testimony.
Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham has been granted a permanent restraining order against a woman who allegedly stalked him.
Court documents reveal that Lindsey, 75, appeared before a judge in Los Angeles on Friday, December 20. He testified in support of his request for protection against 53-year-old Michelle. While a temporary restraining order had been issued previously, Lindsey has now secured a full five-year order of protection.
During the hearing, Lindsey presented a photo that Michelle had left at his residence and played an unmarked audio clip as evidence of her behavior. The judge concluded that Lindsey had provided sufficient evidence to justify a permanent restraining order. Michelle, who did not attend the hearing despite being notified, is required to maintain a distance of 100 yards from Lindsey, his wife Kristen Buckingham, and their son William Buckingham.
She is also prohibited from contacting, harassing, or threatening Lindsey in any way. This restraining order will remain in effect until December 2029. Lindsey accused Michelle of harassing his family since 2021, claiming she falsely alleged that he was his father. He stated that the situation escalated after Michelle obtained his wife's business cell phone number.
He mentioned that Michelle began reaching out to Kristen, sometimes leaving lengthy messages where she claimed to be his child and made threats against him and his family. He added, “She also accused me of causing her facial deformities from her childhood and demanded financial support.”
Lindsey told the court, “I don’t know [Michelle], and I am not her father.” The rockstar stated that in 2022, the police advised Michelle to cease all communication with him and his family.
He thought everything had settled down, so he chose not to pursue any legal measures. However, Michelle resurfaced in 2024 when she came to his home and left a collage of photos featuring her face alongside Lindsey’s.
Lindsey recounted that the police located Michelle and instructed her once more not to return to his residence.
A few weeks later, he was startled awake by officers knocking on his door. He described being handcuffed and asked to come outside. He explained, “The reason given was that a 911 call had been made reporting that my son William was in the house and [was threatening to harm himself], and that the caller had heard gunshots.”
After twenty minutes of the police searching my home while I stood outside in the cold, handcuffed, I was finally allowed back inside, feeling shaken and scared, Lindsey shared. He mentioned that the officers soon realized the call was a hoax and removed the handcuffs. “I’ve come to understand that the 911 call originated from [Michelle’s] phone and is just the latest incident in a continuous pattern of harassment and threats directed at my family and me,” he added. In her petition, Kristen included a statement expressing her concerns for her family’s safety. The court fully approved the petition during the hearing last week.

How awful for Lindsey. Hopefully this nut will not harass him anymore but unfortunately people like this usually don't give up.

Michelle Ferguson. She is commenting the reel, telling weird things about his kids. People are asking her if she has some kind of mental break.
I admit somehow I found a bit funny cause she says kids are all day with nannies and need a good mommy. And we know they are grown adults. But actually it is creepy.
Lindsey, or his manager, must block/ban Michelle account. I wonder if the restriction includes virtual or thru network approaches.
