Wow some of these are absolute treasures. A scrap book from the 1977 Australian tour. OMG! It's so sad to see her RRHOF award for sale. Chris had such good taste that it would be a dream to have any of it. If I was filthy rich I would buy her awards and donate them to some rock museum or give them to her nephew. I just cant stand the thought something like that in some box collecting dust in some millionaire's storage vault or collecting dust in some place.
On another note, I was recently on Ebay. Anything with Chris's autograph is extremely expensive. The price for her signature has went way up.
During the last auction right before her passing I was going to buy something. I found something that was not too expensive at starting bid and thought there would not be a demand for. I was wrong. The appraised value was a few hundred and it sold for $4000. Yet bigger stuff sold for way less. Seriously though, how do you put a price on some of this stuff. I love that Stevie refused to let her old organ be sold or given away in 1998 and she kept it.

So, this is a dumb question, but I'm a virgin.
So this is listed as being a sale in Nashville. Is this something I can GO TO, or are they online only? I mean, why would they say it's in Nashville, if you can't attend it in person?
EDIT - never mind. I figured it out. I hadn't clicked on the link. It's at the Musician's Hall of Fame. I can walk there in less than 10 minutes!

This photo fascinates me. It looks like its from 1984. Chris wore that animal print on her solo tour. Chris and Stevie did not really cross paths in 1984. The embrace is so cold that I love it. Usually its all hugs and kisses and sign of real affection. Could this be back stage at her LA 1984 solo concert final night when the Mac members came to the show. Stevie almost looks uncomfortable and Chris looks like...let's get this photo over with.
So rare

I will bid on some items but I know I wont win. Some of those hand written set lists, notes, and lyrics are just too special. That is not what I will bid on but find something small and special.
I sure wish I was in Nashville to see this because I do LOVE Nashville. I wouldn’t bid on anything. I would just want to be there……I question what’s going to happen with my own collection when I………expire.😕

Oh my frickin god. This is incredible. But so sad.
Some of these things are so personal.Surely if this all belonged to the estate of Christine McVie then its all owned by the family. I get why they'd need to sell most of it. But some of it is so personal. Paintings from her dad!!! The handwitten notes and lyrics (are there a couple of unknown/unrecorded songs here?).
I really wish I wasn't so poor.
And on the other side of an ocean.

I don't deny I would like to have one or some of those treasures, but I feel it is much more special to be on those places that were significant in Fleetwood Mac history, and take pictures there. Those are my dream. Like the Record Plant at Sausalito, the first time it was thanks to ledgie BN who took me there, 1998. The second time I took my father there and got cool pictures, 2011.
Places I would like to know are the restaurant where the first meeting with L&S took place, or the Big Love video house, the Little Lies location, the Château d'Hérouville, etc.

Those photos blew my mind. Any photo from Chris's solo tour is a rare treasure but back stage with Stevie is so rare. This was the year that Chris told a magazine she was not close with Stevie at all and she isolated herself in her own fantasy world. I also love it that Chris realized what rare treasures they were that she framed them and kept them all these years. *****ok you are here, lets get this hug over with for the photo**** ***Hurry up because I need another bump****
On another note, I emailed the auction and they will ship anywhere in the world. The key to auctions is not following the shiny objects that gain attention. You need to find that piece that is not grabbing everyone's attention. During the last auction I focused in on a small magnifying glass. I think the appraised value was $75 and I was willing to go up several hundred. But it sold for $4000!
Seriously though, even if I had the money I don't think I would be worthy to have some of this stuff. I suppose her estate is keeping her grammy award. Thank goodness for that.

Gurl got bling.
It's like a one-woman bric-a-brac store, ceramic dog doorstoppers and all.
I would love one of her father's watercolors.
I do hope a fan gets some of those handwritten sheets and shares their contents. One looked like it could be the lyric to So Excited. I laughed at the handwritten note "The Ship.. more like The ****!" in the Meantime process notes.

For me, it's some of those every day things that kinda choked me up more than anything. Duster's dog collar, which I think she had Duster way back in the 70's! The cookbook with the shopping list/notes. That signed Dance poster with the sweet dedications "Christine, where are you! I miss you"
The biggest WTF moment I had was that odd keepsake box that Stevie sent her, along with a locket of hair and scissors!? along with a big fancy calligraphy note. To be a fly on the wall when she opened that package...

The St. Cecilia painting is a true treasure. I see someone already started the bidding at $50,000!
I admit: I am not a fan of a lot of this "bling." The Mackenzie Childs stuff always makes want to vomit, but there are a number of very tasteful things here. She had an eye.

I think she had george and duster when she made In the Meantime. ..no actually i'm correcting myself, that was dougal and george. i guess duster was from the 70s if he had curry's last name!
that signed poster is awesome. i loved all her lyric notations. fascinating stuff.

I think she said somewhere that she did read Ken's books about the making of those albums...wasn't it one of ken's books that inspired her to get back into music, reading all the little details of the recording process etc? i'd bet she muddled through most of those books in the auction. it made me wish she'd written one herself....i mean, if all 5 members wrote books they'd all remember stuff in a slightly different way but i want to KNOWWWWW, such a shame the only one we got a book from is Mick...:distress:

This is pretty fascinating, and I hope someone out there is saving all these pictures since I'm guessing this webpage isn't permanent and all this will disappear after the auction is over.
The one that made me a little emotional was the dog pillows (https://bid.juliensauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/499/lot/229568/christine-mcvie-two-custom-embroidered-dog-pillows) with the names of her two dogs. They must have been far more personal and sentimental to her than all the jewelry in the auction. I found this interview (https://www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com/articles/2004/july/july2004-005.html) from 2004 where she says Dougall and George run her life completely.
Imagine the surprise if Lindsey were perusing this website to see Carol Ann Harris' book among her possessions!!!
Actually, I'm wondering if some of these items weren't actually owned by Christine and they were just thrown in. Would she actually have had a touring wardrobe hamper (https://bid.juliensauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/499/lot/241191/christine-mcvie-touring-wardrobe-hamper) in her possesion? Sounds like the type of thing that would be in storage for the band as a whole.
There is a photograph of one of Stevie's drawing (https://bid.juliensauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/499/lot/229618/christine-mcvie-stevie-nicks-rhiannon-and-her-birds-photograph-of-a-drawing) that is already at $1,000. Not the original drawing. Just a photograph of the drawing. I don't understand how that I something to pay $1,000 for. You could literally just have the picture from the website printed out on high-quality photographic paper and it would not substantively be any different.

I wonder the same. I've been to several country music star's estate sales, since I live in Nashville, and I always wonder, "how do I know their children, OR the Auctioneer!, didn't just throw in their own crap, just to raise the outcome of the auction?" And of course, we'll never know. That's why I really don't want anything without her name on it. No trinkets, no fukcing knick knacks, no jewelry, etc. I'd rather have a BMI piece of paper that has her name on it, so at least I know it was given to her.

In this case it seems the proceeds will go to charity, since I'm sure her estate was in no need of further money-grabbing and was more interested in simply doing a Marie Kondo while also furthering her legacy.
But oh daddy would I love to have one of those Cyril watercolors.

As far as I can tell, the drawing of the dozing dog (https://bid.juliensauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/499/lot/229603/christine-mcvie-dog-portrait-drawing-by-christine-mcvie) is the only thing in the auction (aside from writings on paper) actually created by her. It seems like it ought to go for more than a knick knack.

This has been taken down! I also don't see a dog collar for a dog named Duster. Mysterious disappearances!
The biggest WTF moment I had was that odd keepsake box that Stevie sent her, along with a locket of hair and scissors!? along with a big fancy calligraphy note. To be a fly on the wall when she opened that package...
I'm thinking that only the calligraphy note and angel picture came from Stevie. Stevie wouldn't have sent the other contents of the box (https://bid.juliensauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/499/lot/229884/christine-mcvie-keepsake-box). The lock of hair is clearly from one of Christine's dogs. And I'm curious about the folded up newspaper clipping. The text is in Portuguese. Something somehow related to her marriage?

It's a little misleading when they say proceeds go to charity. No doubt that is true but they will not tell you what percent. If all proceeds went to charity, they would proudly claim ALL proceeds go to charity. Do they say that? Mick's auction also mentioned charity but no doubt he profited big time. Her estate is going to make a pretty penny even when the auctioneer and charity are paid their percent.
I would love to know who has her Grammy. Possibly her brother? It just shows what entertainers think of those crap awards like the RRHOF.
On another note, the photo of her and Eddy face to face on her solo tour seems to have vanished. Its no longer available. I suppose the family thought it was too personal and bad blood to let someone own that. Its the same night of that photo of Chris and Stevie on what appears to be the last night of her solo tour.

I found the photo very touching. I know that her and Eddy did not end well but she was in mad love with him in the beginning. That photo of them face to face expressed a deep and wild love for each other. If I see a photo of Chris happy, it makes me happy.
This photo and the photo with Stevie really rock my world. They were not done by professional photographers. It seemed to be the last night of the tour and there was a celebration and someone with a camera took these photos. Either they were given to Chris as a gift or she liked them so much that she framed them. A very rare moment in her career and those photos are so valuable in my mind.

Thanks for rescuing that picture! I think I've only ever seen one other picture of that guy before, but it looks like him. Just think, if the 80s and 90s were the era of Real Housewives-style trash reality shows, and if Christine were the type of person to be on such a show, we could have had all the tawdry details of their marriage.

I'm not a fan of artists stuff, though I do like autographs and I have had few opportunies to get some.
Ok, some things may be interesting. Signed instruments, awards, etc. But a touring wardrobe hamper? I don't even find it nice. It may be useful for a touring artist, but even in that case, he/she would use one with his/her name stamped.

Yeah, I too thought that was the oddest item in the lot. Tacky.
At some point, I find this truly sad...
Sad to know her family just don't want to keep some important things of her and her golden years...I mean, I'm not against at all, I bet the family saw on this a good chance to bring fans to a more "private" face of Chris, and it's a charity thing...But in one point, if I was from the McVie family, I would like to have, for example, some keyboards or prizes! I know of course the family will keep lot of things, but I see on the catalog a very big amount of incredible stuff of her, so it's my first impression about this :sorry:

You know, the more I check out this auction, I'm not sure I should even bother going. Hell, a "Dinner, take it or leave it" sign, is up to $500. They're $14 online. I mean, we "THINK" it was Christine's, but who knows for sure? I don't want jewelry or knick knacks... I want something IDENTIFIABLE as being hers. Ugh.
I guess I'm shocked that her stuff is bringing so much money. I'd expect that when Old Goatsy kicks the bucket, but...

I would imagine the Perfect family (McVie was her married name :) ) all kept a few special personal items that were probably not related to her fame. And maybe they did keep a few keyboards or awards, how would we know? They're just regular people, they can't really keep *everything* that was in her flat or related to her long career. She had a lotta stuff lol. And it's been almost 2 years now... I think it's nice that the $ goes to Chris's favorite charity, and that the items hopefully go to true fans who will appreciate them.

I had a dream last night about this auction. However in the dream Chris was still alive and looked like she did around 1987. I was given this large auction program when I entered. Chris was sitting at a large table. I was told she would only autograph things that were purchased. I was roaming around and most of the items were small photos, ash trays, and various knickknacks. She had a McDonalds ashtray from the 1980s that I thought was cool. I woke up before I bought anything or got to meet Chris. But I did get really close to her when I went inside before being told she would only sign things bought at the auction. It was not really an auction either. It was more like a garage sale but inside a hotel conference room. Chris looked radiant though.

You made me remember I used to have a golden McDonalds ashtray from the 80s, similar to the attached pic. I kept it as a souvenir from my second travel to the US. ;) There was KFC and Pizza Hut in Peru in the 80s, but no McDonalds.

Well fukc. I'm here. Bidding is ONLY online. A week ago I tried to enter my credit card into their system, like a DOZEN times, and it kept telling me it was invalid. Since they're ONLY accepting online bids, I'm fukced. I brought several hundred in cash with me, but it's not accepted.
They have 30 seats here, and there are only 4 people here, including myself.
A hand mirror just went for $350. Empty perfume bottles for $300. Two soap dishes for $900.... I'm out of my league....
JMO, but anyone that pays $900 for a fukcing soap dish is a moron.

I originally bid on two items. I was outbid on one of them a week ago. One of them stayed at my bid price until this morning. I honestly doubt someone else wanted it and that the auction house was driving up the price. I did not do a second bid. As much as I would have liked to have something of Christine's I realize it's just things. I could use that $ to buy groceries.

I agree. I'd be mad at myself for a month if I paid $900 for a soap dish.
I know that WE love her more than the rest of the band, but I'm SHOCKED that that many people are willing to pay such high prices. I'd expect that when Old Goatsy kicks the bucket. People would kill to own her stuff(I'd throw darts at it).

I hate to say it but a lot of that stuff may well show up on eBay etc.
I bought in the last auction, and hit my upper limit on her wardrobe road case, but didn't think it fully through about the commission and taxes and fees and shipping ... it all added another roughly 2k to what I paid....
I absolutely sat this one out after that..:distress:

Holy crap.
Yeah, I've read the fine print on the added fees. They're sticking it to you.

Shipping to Ohio will be a bitch.
And I'd FOREVER wonder if Christine ripped one in the same spot.
OMG....this goes in the ledge hall of fame.

I bid on 2 items and was not outbid until the live auction. Oddly enough one of the items I bid on as a longshot sold for much less than the item I thought would not interest as many. I was on vacation and not near a computer to partake in the live auction. If I was online during the live auction its possible I could have come away with one of the items.
But everything happens for a reason and I congratulate all the winners.

Christine can now officially be considered a visual medium artist. Her original dozing dog (https://bid.juliensauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/499/lot/229603/christine-mcvie-dog-portrait-drawing-by-christine-mcvie) drawing went for $2,925.

I'm glad if I bought it was at the last auction because...boy, the prices this time are astronomical

I went after that Rob Rogers Clinton cartoon mentioning "that Fleetwood Mac song" but it sold for over double what I thought it would

It's crazy that that many people can spend that kind of money.
So I'm NOT comparing Porter Wagoner(they guy who gave Dolly her start) to Christine, but I went to his estate sale(s), and for example, I got a framed award given to him, a stained glass lamp of his, a ceramic thing from his desk that he kept his glasses in, his radar detector!, an answering machine phone, that had all these condolence messages on it, from the day after he died. AND, two VHS home movies of Christmases at home, with them all laying around, watching movies and talking to the camera. I got ALL THAT for less than $100.
Y'all know Christine is my favorite...I'd EXPECT those kind of prices when Old Goatsy kicks the bucket, but I never dreamed Chris' stuff would bring those kind of prices.

$3000 USD for her father's Swiss landscape that I would have loved to have. At least one zero too many for me!

Now it REALLLLY makes you start to think about what SN's stuff would sell for......I bet you couldn't get anything of hers for less than 5-10k.......
LB has kids to leave stuff to, but even then......who knows what, if anything, would go to an auction.
Stevie will leave all the good stuff to nieces and goddaughters. All her friends were smart to get her to be godmother to their daughters....

I'll bet that she doesn't. She's the ultimate narcissist, and thinks she's going to live forever. I'll bet she's TOTALLY unwilling to face her own demise.

Well, they could decapitate and freeze her head now, and she would go on with business as usual.

That doesn't seem in line with the new RS interview, in which she says she doesn't want to live past 89 but expects to make it to 94 or 95.

and curiously she says she will "hatefully" live to 94-5.
Been trying to decipher what she means... normally that would mean that she is basically going to live that long just for spite.
But does she have another intention in that statement...?

I think what she meant was, if she does live that long - it's not because she actually wants to. She knows it will not be fun or pleasant.
