I don't believe I ever saw this interview before and I used to watch FNV. Mick had a nice house. I assume he lost this house or sold it? This was right before he declared bankruptcy the next year. The interview starts about 23:00. I am not sure what he means that people like to "blame" Stevie. He also infers that Stevie had a bad girl image.
Lots of talking and words but its pretty much blah blah blah. Nice house though

I use to watch FNV and I don’t remember that segment either. I do love that song and album. Mick was obviously high as a quite, he was making no sense.

I must have missed this Friday night too. I would read the TV guide to see who was on FNV so its odd that I missed this or it never aired.
Does anyone know if Mick still has this house? I doubt it.

I don’t think so. I believe this is the same house from the TUSK documentary.

He wrote he sold it just after he was forced to file for bankruptcy. June 1984.
I watched the van carrying my possessions rumble down the canyon road toward the Pacific Coast Highway, and then walked back into the empty Blue Whale, the big Malibu ranch house that I'd just had to sell cheap. I stepped through the echoing rooms that had once been filled with music and constant parties. Then I locked up the house and garages, sat down by the pool and wiped my eyes, and listened to the ocean wind through the rustling acacia trees.

That house is no longer there. They built something wayyyy bigger on that hill.

Funny there is a "Blue Whale" beach house in Airbnb. I knew it wasn't the same house cause it's in San Diego, and the pictures shows it is much smaller.

I assume he lost this house or sold it? I think so. Long gone. He moved out of the Hollywood Hills to Malibu in those years.

I think he’s referring to the way the newspapers used to peg Stevie in the early 1980s as the loose link in Fleetwood Mac — the one who might break up the band by leaving it and going solo full time. Remember the David Gans article in The Record — “What’s the Matter with Stevie?” The whole article (which surfaced right before the 1982 tour) painted Stevie as the one member of the band who should have left them because her recent songs were no good, she didn’t spend any time working with the band in the studio, she gave all her time to her solo albums and tours, and she was unreachable by phone. I think Mick was the only one in Fleetwood Mac who somewhat sympathized with her at the time.
The others all said they practically never talked to her or even saw her. She was extremely distant and made everyone else contact her management.
One example chosen at random: Look at the first paragraph of the “Happy at the Top” article that greendaze just posted.
